A primary source, from my understanding, is specifically NOT a person telling you about thier experience. It's an aggregate of MANY people, as one single person's evidence is prone to bias and I beleive is defined as anecdotal evidence. I love your video and goddamn, I'd love to have a conversation about this with you (not that I have any expectation of this). The rate of future corporate suicide by a basic lack of understanding of economics and money as an explicitly finite thing, I think, are really related to this too. (Also, a basic lack of understanding of a company's own business model, as demonstrated by Twitch recently.) The lack of basic process understanding today is insane to me, and it is so prevelent in so many things in at least the US's insane society right now.
thank you for the clarification! Yes, be wary of one person telling you an outlandish experience. Hearing the same moment from different perspectives should paint a better, clearer picture!
Excellent comparison of AI art to a flower. There is an art to gardening, but the gardener should not have the credit for all the details of the flower- that stuff was made by the plant. The people that think giving a prompt is the same thing as creating art have gamer goblin brain
This was a very interesting video! You had some very good points! I would however say, as someone who studies Psychology (which you ofc can't trust to be true), trusting a person who is telling you their experience is not a very safe rule of thumb. Well, you will probably get their experience, but people's experience and what actually happened can differ a whole lot! That's something we're always warned about when interviewing people or people doing surveys we have made. That we cannot trust that the answers we get to actually be a good representation of reality is a huge problem. And it's not always that people intentionally lie! There's so many different factors I don't want to bore you with a lecture. Which I might have already done with this long explanation... I apologise for that. I'm always curious about the "stealing money from artists"? Is it about AI stealing the art that artists have made (and getting money from it)? I just got this image of AIs hacking artists' back account but I doubt that is what you meant.
Yes thank you! That's a point in the script I should've added in. Turns out people lie! The stealing money from artists thing isn't as direct as you are thinking. It's more that these programs will use artists work without crediting them or even worse, using their art against their explicit permission not to do so. And these programs are usually a pay to use, so the people stealing artists work are profiting off of them. Also just more directly, artists being replaced by the programs, taking away artists livelihoods.
Chibi Cosmine is cute as all hell! Some very good points in this video that I hadn't thought about before. But on the whole, I agree with you. ... ... ... ... (algorithm doesn't have a 'y' in it)
The way the mouth and the eyes on your model interact and overlap is upsetting, thank you. Love the way you keep bringing it back to the root of all modern problems: capitalism and the misappropriation of the people's wealth.
Also, it's trying to understand concepts via the idea of labeled images. That's the worst way to do that. If I walk up to you, give you the finger, and say "this is a 'blooper'," then show my whole hand and say, "a 'cooper' has 'nerf' 'bloopers'", I've just communicated the entire structure of a hand in a way you can understand, despite giving you absolutely incorrect labels. You have a concept of reality that is completely missing from these things. I have watched enough cosplay how-to videos to know that all you need are some base shoes and some warbla, and you can have those shoes. :D Nevermind, the picture @17:24 of Sticks (??) and X (?? Not Megaman, apparently?) seem to be flying with Red X (????? Who is clearly giving Vegeta vibes) who is holding on with knives in X's head (also: they're next to a drum set or something???) covers the entire way an AI cannot conceive of the universe the way people can.
I love Chibi Cosmine lol!
Also, this is a wonderful explainer! Very focused and with technical details made simple :)

Thank you for the video! I love your work.
Come for the mbmbam animation, stay for the thoughtful video essay. What a pleasant surprise in my feed! Great job.
