- A judge in Tampa sentenced Elizabeth Jaimes to more than five years in prison for repeatedly abusing a dog in her care. The Hillsborough State Attorney calls it the worst animal abuse case she's ever prosecuted.

She moved into these people’s house and goes on to abuse their pet? Imagine if she had kids .
resented them for doing so much for her that she felt indebted to them.... it sounds insane, but some of these babybrained emotional cripples have to spin everything around to where they owe nothing, and others owe them everything. seems like she was living in their home, presumably for free, doubt she cleaned or did a dang thing for them, and they gave her so much.... so, she RESENTED THEM for it.
now she can go exist off the state's dime for 5 years and see what kind of resentment that causes to fester

Fifty-six-year-old Frank Javier Fonseca was given 25 years for the abuse of his rottweiler. This woman only received a 5 year sentence. They need to add 20 more to her sentence.
@SuperNovaStar2020 I'm unaware of F. Fonseca but at 56 years of age but he seems to have had much longer to get away with other various offences? Neither of them are wanted in a law abiding society and I suspect they will not find any peace of mind in prison.
A guy in Connecticut got 3 years for intentionally running over several wild turkeys.

The vet should have contacted authorities the first time ! Our laws on animal abuse are very weak in this country !

She abused a dog because a dog can't tell anyone what happened. This woman shouldn't be left alone with any animal OR human, especially children. There's no telling who or what will be her next victim.
Her boyfriend's family was giving her a place to stay, presumably for free, and in return, she severely abuses their beloved dog, any time they're alone. I wonder was kind of juvenile emotional need this served for her.... some people resent others for doing good things for them, out of a sense they can't pay them back. Any way, it doesn't matter what it was, whatever her reason was, it's terrible. I get a kick out of how she wouldn;t even say why she did it though.... because she knew. She knew her reason was bad, but she had a reason, and knew her reason. But thinking she doesn;t owe anything to anybody else pretty much much be a trait she has, so it's not surprising

This kind of vicious violence doesn't just suddenly appear. She clearly has been an abusive person for a long time to be able to inflict such agony, pain and torture on a sweet and innocent dog. I saw the original video. She is BEYOND heartless. I don’t recommend seeking out the video because you’ll want to break into prison and give her exactly what she gave to that poor dog. The sounds are unbearable! It’s a miracle that dog survived. I hope they are doing everything possible to love and honor Maya. She is a good dog.

@@Angelamb1987 seeing Maya duck her head low and pace around in fear, hearing the sound of her whelping desperately is the equivalent to a 2 year old child getting beaten with a mallet. She’s completely defenceless. Doesn’t even try to bite. She was in SEVERE pain. Begging for mercy with no one who was there for her. That woman looked at that dog with such dark hatred. Not a single moment of remorse with PLENTY time to really rethink what she was doing. It’s not something I’ll get out of my mind for a very long time. I’m eager for justice to be served and I don’t mean prison.

I just lost my 14 yr old doberman a week ago today and I've been bawling my eyes out pretty much nonstop since that day. I miss her so incredibly bad. She had cancer that affected her back legs. I had to help her 24/7 with walking and hold her up to pee. I put her in a wagon to go for walks when she wanted to go but couldn't and I miss it all so much so seeing this subhuman garbage treat a dog this way has me shaking and crying with anger. I'd have taken that mallet to her if that were my dog and I had seen that video. Animal abusers need to be on a registry just like sx offenders. They both prey on the vulnerable. People like that don't change they just get sneakier about it. She'll just make sure she doesn't get caught next time.
@@Angelamb1987 omg. Same. My 13 year old husky had cancer and even though the tumour was removed, he ended up with neuropathy in his back legs. Started with him slipping on tiles so we bought him shoes that helped his grip but eventually it was exactly as you described. We had a harness on him to help him walk and eventually had to give in and put him down. He suffered. On his last day, we gave him a little sponge bath and he sat up straight like he was feeling all better. I wish that was the case. So rough to see them go through illness and aging. Sorry for your loss. You sound like a wonderful dog mom. ❤️❤️🩹 I am glad Maya is alive even though she suffered permanent damage. I’m glad they caught it on tape but I also have no idea how they had the strength not to give her a taste of her own medicine!

I hoped that she would go naturally but it just didn't work out that way and I couldn't stand to see her in pain. Its such a hard decision and I know you made the right one for your dog. You sound like a good dog mom too and I wish there were more people like you and less people like this "woman".

5 years in prison yet when I was 12 years old here in Philly I was jumped by five grown men with baseball bats and was left in a coma and came inches from death and half of my skull is now titanium and only the ringleader was caught and he pled guilty and served a measly 1½ years

Most cases for animal abuse, people don’t get anything - calm down
Animal abuse laws are extremely lenient in this country. Most people get their sentences reduced to a few measly hours of community service no matter how psychopathic they are towards an innocent creature. The majority of people who get caught abusing their children are also the ones abusing, or severely neglecting, their pets. Seen far too many true crime cases where that was the case. By holding animal abusers accountable, we keep society safe as well
