@kkmarianna88 i totally agree there,i have been a fan since the off,i was 11 in 1980,didn't get into them till i was around 13 had have loved them since,i am now 40
I am proud and unashamed to say that the band of my past is still the band of my present. I'll be 41 this year and I love Duran Duran just as much today as I did all those years ago. I'm glad they're still making music and still touring and hope they will continue to do so for a while longer :)... Life goes on, things change, I'm getting older; but one thing remains constant....I feel good when I listen to their music.
@BirthofCharlie HI...just responding to your comment about watcing duran duran age. I too feel the same. I was exposed to duran duran as 12 year old and im 40 next month. I have always bought into everything they have done. All the albums inside out; defended them as if it were a part of my family when under criticism and sold them to other people as if I was getting paid for it. I watch youtube stuff and you can see the years rolling past and what was my youth is approaching middle age...
Und wann kommt dann das neue Album??2013????und wer verläßt die Band?Roger???ich persönlich hoffe aber, das alles glatt läuft und wir das neue DD Album bald in den Händen halten!
roger is underused now due to technology, hes a great drummer but as he said once 12 inch remixes he used to have to play live now he doesnt. waste of his talent
If you go back and listen to most of the great old Duran Duran songs they are written around Andy's guitar licks as the base with everyone playing off of that. They will never reach that magic again without Andy and I hate saying that because I love them so much.
@BirthofCharlie ...and back to your point, time goes by so fast. Life is short. What is a lifespan in comparison to the time before your life and the time to unfold after it? Nothing but something less than a blip. All you can do is enjoy it. Be grateful for your health. Be happy as much as you can and do the best you can to fulfill your potential. Along the way, listen to artists with integrity and courageous and artistic spirit. Listen to duran duran.
@BirthofCharlie ...duran duran are my youth - the backdrop to teenage years. The excitement of the 80s. They were ever present to me in the 90s despite their lack of success and wandering around at times in experimental waters. THe 00s brought excitment with andy and roger taylor rejoining. It was a full circle almost as if it were time standing still. But, of course, it doesnt for anyone. I now wonder how long duran duran will continue? I dunno. I think maybe a few years yet..
I love DD from long time ago, every work. I love so much RCM too. Their creativity is still high. They have a very great passion. My life is in their music. I like Andy, but i love so much more Dom: his solo work is so deep and high. Dom in DD e solo forever!
I'm also a fan, but unfortunately Duran Duran aren't very relevant anymore... In the 80's they were pretty boys, international playboys, heartthrobs, girls lusted after them, guys wanted to be them. When they had all that going for them, they could pull off songs with ambiguous lyrics and be cool, wear odd clothes and be fashionable, because they were making the fashion and setting the trends.... Today they don't have that influence. looking forward to their album nonetheless.
