I’ve never done an icp test. I hear so many mixed things about them, that I’ve never pulled the trigger on one. Thanks for sharing this info, I really enjoyed seeing how it works firsthand.🇦🇺🇺🇸👍🏻
Although I'm aware my weekly tests using Hanna Checkers are not 100% accurate, I try to get a consistent reading for salinity, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus (which I use a chart to convert to phosphate) and nitrate. I obtain quarterly Triton ICP's which I then compare against my weekly tests, if those ICP results are within tolerance and the weekly tests are consistent, I can gauge the accuracy of those weekly tests which in turn tells me if any of those weekly tests are going out of tolerance before the next ICP is obtained and I can try to rectify earlier. I believe regular ICP's are an essential tool for the hobby, the Triton tests indicate any deficiencies and using six different element additives with regular dosing on top of the 20% monthly water changes keeps those ICP's in tolerance.
always with the facts, data and science. glorious!
