Thank you for this project it's real cool. I would like to know how do you read the units from meter to microprocessor or the connection between optocoupler and meter and how it works
whenever a unit of electricity is consumed at the meter then a pulse is generated and that pulse is read by the microcontroller through optocoupler. now according to the formula we do some calculation which will help you to know what's going on at the meter side
Hallo good work the connection between gsm and board did you connect them direct to the atmega the billing system coz I can't see the link btwn the 2 board kindly explain
I connected the same circuit...but instead of reading pulse it reads somethings random variables......and the pulses change rapidly from 0 to 1000. Without any load connected.

Yes GSM modem tx rx pin is directly connected to the ATmega328 board

is there any way to replace an optocoupler with another mechanism?... because i missed optocoupler from market.
optocoupler is the best economic solution.... if its not available offline then buy it online....

on the unit blinking led i have connected first wire and the second wire on the ground

There must be a problem in the optocoupler section which you used to connect the energy metre signal to your microcontroller section
