What a adorable, sweet Angel Ian was, sooo engaging, full of charm at such a young age. Thinking of you today on 22nd August 2022. Ian would be 64 years old but this will always be the way I like to remember him, forever young. Rip Angel♥️♥️♥️
I am so sorry Wendy-Ann and I know exactly how you feel as I also lost the love of my life 7 years ago. Time doesn’t heal all wounds but it gets a little better. My heart aches for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
OMG I'll always remember Ian saying "you don't budder it, you butter it!" So cute! My friends and I were screaming so loud we could barely hear most of this. The days before we had VCRs too so we only had one chance to see it. We had to race to a friend's house after school who lived close by...Dinah was on at 3:30 and school was out at 3:00....it was a mad dash to get the tape recorders in place:-)
@@josephconsoli4128 --- Yep, my Husband and the love of my life---he was my favorite Roller! If there was any resentment, Ian never mentioned it and I never knew about it. But I do doubt it... in fact he was very close to Woody....and Leslie was in our wedding party. Also, when I met the other guys individually they were nothing but kind to me. And when Ian was fighting cancer, Woody was a great support. So please know that these rumors were nothing but rumors.
@@ianslass Thank you so much for clarifying and I'm sorry for your loss. I must admit, I often fall for the rumors the media makes up to sell their product. I have to remember that. I also want to say that I was a kid in the '70's and the BCR take me right back to that wonderful crazy time. Ian looked the part of a '70's teen idol and will forever be remembered. It was a pleasure to correspond with you and again, thank you.
Me to this clip I remember watching it on the Dinah show when it aired and I have it now on DVD RIP Ian we still love you and will always miss you you are right our loss is heavens gain
They shoved him out of the band because Allan said he came back because he missed it. That's my opinion anyway I also know that 1 point less was extremely jealous of vain.
I can answer all of this. Ian left the group(was not given the boot) because of stress and he wasn't brought in to start a new band. He doesn't hate Leslie - get over it. Yes, Leslie was in our wedding party and any legal stuff is OUR business and no one elses. Ok, good...the end.
Of course he was friends with Les,he helped Les bug everyone's rooms, because he thought they had taken the money, but it was tam Paton, record company,Ian and pat were never intitled to any royalties, weren't there long enough.
This is hilarious years later....I remember grossing out a little at the idea of French fries on buttered bread, but the other guys in the TV room kept watching because it was turning into comedy gold...They then wanting to switch channels as soon as the music started...ah life as a college student and Roller fan. (edited for clarity's sake)
I remember that appearance on Dinah. I taped it on my cassette recorder! I don't remember them making Chip Buddies though. I could see my 19 year old step son doing a segment like that.
I'm always amazed by the portion sizes from then compared to what's considered normal for the states . Looking back to old videos and pictures of the lads holding cups and dinner plates is eye opening. Plus look how thin they all were . Not skinny but thin and well muscled. Compare that to what many young fit men look like now . That very flat stomach isn't so flat when you compare the guys to now . Thanks to the corn syrup and added fillers in American foods to save money. Gee thanks .....not . Rollers forever and thank you Wishful thinker for your wonderful Derek tributes !😊 you are pretty wonderful yourself!❤
Chip buttie not buddy and where i come from Middlesbrough north east England its a chip sarnie = short for sandwich, also there is way too much sauce on there, best with just salt pepper and malt vinegar and a few scraps which are fried batter ; )
Woody is in "hunger mode", he keeps nicking the french fries. He can really use another pound.. But sorry, this just doesn't sound appetizing to me, & to think they lived on those sometimes. No wonder Woody & the guys kept their shape. They didn't need to exercise @ all. Guess all that touring & performing on stage kept them ship shape. Woody just snitched another french fry, Eric's going for the gold here, grab that bottle of sauce & run w/ it Eric. Don't look now, but Woody just woofed another french fry...(where in Hades does he put it all?)
Well, he did have vocal nodes removal surgery in late September/early October of 1976. If I knew when this was filmed, I could tell for certain if it was around his recovery time.
Tam brought Ian into the band just to get him 'noticed' by the girls. Pulled him out and then put him into Rosetta Stone, with the hopes that they would get all the BCR fans to follow them. It was all in the plans... P.s. Les was also part of Ian's wedding party when he married Wendy. So they didn't hate each other that much. Now these days Ian is kinda pissing all the guys off. But for legal reasons...
He and pat thought they were intitled to royalties, they weren't,not in it long enough, they looked at what was known as pilot, the band, Eric was in it after his high school band,it was called sugar, then kip, when they were pilot, they were in the rollers show in Manchester,so was the English band Slade, who Eric's high school band opened for, they were on it to,woody took over from Eric, after he left, other members of that band wanted to join the rollers, but Paton said no.when Eric went solo,he wrote a song called playing in a rock and roll band, with a thousand names, that's the band he was talking about,he hated that band, called them loud and brash.
Paton realised that as long as the replacement for Alan was young and attractive to girls that was all that mattered. Ian would be a typical boy band member nowadays with cowell as his manager.
Yup, the Rollers gave Ian the boot less than 8 months into it. They didn't think Ian was a good fit, as he was making himself too much of a front man, and egos were getting bruised. It's a guy thing. Ian has sinced managed to sue himself, and he has his own band these days.
To me, Ian was the sweetest and funniest of the group. I adored him sooo much❤️❤️❤️🥲RIP Angel

Although there was resentment with the others members, Ian was the best looking Roller.
They all had their day....pat mcglynn was really good...
I am not sure of the resentment that you mention and what you mean by it, but yes... I agree with you...my Husband was the best-looking roller ever!

Woody seemed very hungry as he kept grabbing fries.:)

Aww that was sweet of Eric. I was always fixated on Ian that I never noticed that Eric made a less salty chip butty for Mackenzie.
If you do find the rest of show would you please let me know? I would also like to see it.
Can anyone tell me where I can watch this full show please? I can't find it x
I need to be clear- I made one of these in '76, not '09!

woody takes his sandwich to the stage in a hurry, did he eat so quick?
How effing cute is Ian?
Was that Mackenzie Philips on the left?? Also please change the name to "chip BUTTIES". Thats what they`re called in the UK.
It's a piece 'n' chips - must be an Edinburgh thing like vinegar or sauce on your chips! How did I get here......

At that age, I think she was way beyond Ian.
He was quite a pretty boy.

Anyone notice the resemblance to Mackenzie Phillips?😮
Its called a Chip BUTTIE... not buddy x
