Man this brings back memories, it's been a very long time since I've ridden this as I'm often in Disneyland in the "winter" months and it's not worth going on (aka getting wet) or it's down for refurbishment. And it's such a nice ride to force you into being "sociable" (i.e. sharing the pain) with people you don't know.
Yep, best rides to show on a hot day/week. Grizzly River Run, Bigfoot Rapids, Jurassic Park, Wild rapids ride as Magic Mountain. You may get wet, you WILL get soaked.
I was on opening crew for California adventure. This ride has been modified to splash opposed to getting soaked. I can attest as I rode it on opening day. The other modified Rapids ride is down the street at Knotts Berry Farm. I worked on that ride prior to going to Disneyland. The two waterfalls are no longer used to get riders wet. One would get drenched.
This is one of the better rapids rides out there if you don't want to get drenched but do want to get splashed (some more than others)...it has not changed much in 22-years.
My daughter were on a boat by ourselves lol the drop is so dang fast and spins hard I literally flew to the side. We looked at each other so scared lol but went on again
Did this twice around a month ago. We did it very early in the day and second time was the last thing we did very late. One of my favourite rides, but i dont recommend at night. My shoes were wet for days 😂
Oh yeah, back in 2009 my mom and dad got nailed by the geyser right before the end of the ride, my little brother and I were too busy laughing our asses off when that happened.
I finally got on this ride last year in October. Me and My sister had fun getting wet. This also the only ride we got on in California Adventure. (Long Story)
I haven’t been here since 2017 but did they change the voice for the safety instructions? I always remember it saying “it’s time to do some serious rafting”
I remember when I was on this ride, at 6:25 When we got down, My sister said “It’s over, Scarlett, it’s over!” From my pov I saw a drop, with people going down. Then I was like “It’s not over!- there’s a drop!-“ we kept repeating that until we got the drop. I was covering my eyes and face in my dad’s arm lol. He’s the one who got the most wet
I wish we could have proper river rapids in the uk like in america. some schoolgirl stood up in one, fell out and alas drowned so now we're not allowed to get anything that gets us wet or is rough now
I think stopping ruins the excitement of the whole ride. I've been on the one at Magic Mountain & it's way better. But I guess this one could be considered more "child friendly"- if that is what Disney is going for.😏😴
I don’t see a lot of diversity and inclusion on the rafts. Maybe Disney should shut down the ride rill they get a more representative slice of humanity in its parks.
I love how whenever you go on this ride with complete strangers you always make connections with them!
Something so sweet about a bunch of strangers laughing and sharing that experience together. ♥
They should design a raft like this but with the seats facing outward instead of inward. I feel like that would be a lot more fun and enjoyable.
That’s not dangerous at all. Good idea man!

@alpacamegapintPopeyes water ride in Florida gets u way wetter than that ride
@alpacamegapint I don’t personally live in Florida so I’m chilling but it’s really good for the guests at the park

It really does look like real, whitewater rapids!
Just went on a rafting trip, and there was a rapids that reminded me of this ride exactly!
Only water ride to do in the summer because Splash Mountain is closed!!
Unless you count Pirates, but that's more of an indoor darkride...
Pirates and Matterhorn (if ur on the tomorrowland side)
In paris there are not one water rides such a shame
@@Pyrotwinz too cold.
Great job as always !

If you didn’t get soaked by the geyser at the end, you didn’t truly experience the attraction!
looks like they are still not working.
Oh yeah, back in 2009 my mom and dad got nailed by the geyser right before the end of the ride, my little brother and I were too busy laughing our asses off when that happened.
@@Dragmire Of course it’s not working!
Geyser has been broken for at least a year or two. Classic Disney.
What happened to the geyser at the very end?
How wet did you get on this ride? Would you recommend wearing a poncho?
Awesome ride
I remember riding this during one of After Dark events. Ha ha, did a "try to stay dry" run. 🤣
Wow, hardly any wait time.
Looks like fun 😄 😀

Love ❤ it! 😍
Cool Kris! You didn't get too wet! LOL Hey were the geyser's not working?

Nice
looks empty. what time of day was this?
Wow were you dizzy afterwards.
where in the park is this located?

I definitely need a new gopro camera, or at least any waterproof camera for this ride.
Was this shot with the iPhone 14 Pro?
Yes

I was here when there were 15 likes
I have not did this ride yrs lol
#DisneyDiva
Mystic River Falls at Silver Dollar City in Branson, AR is a far better raft ride.
I swear I got more dizzy than wet
This should have more of a Brave theme. Should also have Merida at California Adventure since she’s Pixar
Cilia Daisy❤❤❤😂😂🎉🎉🎉
the guy with glasses looks like paul giamatti
Everything Knott's Berry farm does Disney likes to copy
8:48 "We survived the smallest drop in the world!" A nice bookend to the comment after you guys were lowered into the water from that lift hill.
Hi
"I got it in my mouth!" Been there, done that.
Eww that's the worst when the water ride water gets in your mouth :( hehe
1990s called & they wanted the overalls back

lets go on a water ride and go "oh no" every time you get wet. ffs

Lol, all disney and the elite do is preach and never teach. They won't practice what they preach either
