Maps sarcasm is borderline condescending. Intelligent people speak to be understood and not to sound smart because they know what communication is. Otherwise you might at well be talking to yourself, what’s the point other than to appear to be all knowing? I also think it’s probably because he was made to wait for the host and he got irritated. Also the whole date was him trying to put Laziswe down and try to make him seem dumb with comments he knew might fly over him. One can be smart/intelligent and still be kind.
Ps: I loved his eye contact though. That way you know a person is listening and reading your subtle body language as well.
