@@kerryclewell9527at one point before the 2002 divisional realignment in the 1990s, it was the Rams in STL, with the Panthers, Falcons, Saints, and Niners. Rams weren't terribly misaligned in STL, as they were still the 5th furthest West team in the NFC at the time (Niners, Cards, Cowboys, and Vikings were all further west), but the 3 Southeast teams were *very* out of place geographically.
The 49ers and Rams battling along, Seahawks come along and decide to be 3rd best, meanwhile Cardinals can only gets 3. And then there’s the Panthers, Falcons, Saints, and Colts, who definitely are in the West.
Seahawks third best? That’s incredibly misleading. Seattle has dominated the division since the reformation of the NFC West and the Seahawks joining in 2002. We have the most division titles since then Seattle - 9 San Francisco - 6 Los Angeles - 5 Arizona - 3

It’s gotta suck when your the first team to be made in your league, HECK THE OLDEST LASTING NFL TEAM, and you’ve had the least division wins by a lot, almost having less then a team no longer part of your division
Love the “Ram It” song. The 2 NFC west Rivals The San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams the OG NFC west Rivals oh how we remember these 2 teams always trying to win and seeing who’s better every year.

So you’re telling me that at one point in time the NFC west only had 1 true WEST COAST TEAM WHILE EVERYONE ELSE WAS EITHER MIDWEST, OR SOUTH EAST 😭

Even the Midwest isn’t in the west.
49ers-Rams is quite an old rivalry
Not as old as Rams-Cardinals since 1936
Packers vs Bears

How come the rams had the tie breaker over the Seahawks
They had a higher "strength of victory" which means the teams they beat had a higher combined win percentage.
