I've been a ND fan since Steve Beuerlein was the QB, but those of you think that ND is going to somehow win a natty if they just change coaches, or that this is Freeman's fault are on crack. ND is living in the past. They think they can win the way things were done 3 or 4 decades ago. And Freeman can't control that anymore than Kelly could (who has shown little to nothing at LSU by the way - he's 16-7 overall right now just like Freeman- P.S. I don't count the Oklahoma St bowl game because you can't give him the praise or blame for that with only a few weeks to get ready as the new coach). ND is simply not a football factory for the NFL. Nor do they try to be. That's fine, admirable in some ways, but as a person who lives in the South I can tell you that no one in the SEC cares about whether kids get degrees, go to class, or learn anything in college. They only care about winning football games and championships. I suspect the exact same is true at Ohio St. & Clemson etc. And the bottom line is until ND embraces this philosophy it won't matter who they get as coach, they're NOT winning a national championship. Even Paul Horning eluded to ND's failed mindset (in not those exact words) before he died when it comes to this. I didn't even watch the Clemson game because I felt all along they'd probably lose on the road. I didn't watch either of the Alabama games they played in the CFP/BCS in the last decade because I knew what was going to happen and I knew it would be ugly. Adapt or die. And the powers that be at ND have decided not to adapt, that they're not going to be a football factory for the NFL. Okay, that's fine, it's their right to do this. But I'll never delude myself into believing they can win the big prize like this, because they can't. If you believe they can contact me about some great beachfront property I have up for sale in Kansas.
Actually after Brian Kelly left, ND had to take one step forward. Now ND has to take two steps forward. Because ND has taken one step backwards under Freeman.
Enjoyed the broadcast. I firmly believe it was a blunder in moving too soon to get Hartman out of the portal. I warned the couch coaches that there were signs that he could be interception happy. We pushed a great kid out of Notre Dame to grab a brass ring for success now instead of patiently developing our talent because we think Irish Breakdown, Always Irish, and Lucky Lefty know football. They are like many of us blinded fans. Selling a scenario not based in fact or truth
Stanford plays ND tough & ND has not played well on the road - game will be close
Clemson has a lot of talent just coaches where not able to put together the talent the whole season until the ND game!

Why would anybody think we would want to hear the Clemson guy after a terrible loss.....are you trying to chase away subscribers?
This was actually a really interesting podcast, considering the Dabo Swinney model is essentially what we're trying to replicate at ND.
