I got all the way 7 miles into the backcountry of Wyoming on a mule deer hunt and realized I left my binos sitting in my shop in Layton Utah. Almost an entire half a day later I had hiked out, drove into Pinedale Wyoming to pick up new binos and back in another 7 miles. It’s literally impossible without them though. However, I did kill one of my 200” bucks three days later so I’m still thankful. It’s those types of things that even though they suck at the time, they make part of the adventure. Keep up the good work!

One thing that may help with your muzzleloader. After shooting, then cleaning. If you notice the first shot after cleaning isn't exactly accurate. Fire a couple 209 magnum primers and it will compensate for the inaccuracy of the clean barrel. As for pellets over loose powder. Pellets are quicker and easier to reload. But at distances it will effect your accuracy. Just like those Powerbelts. They have been problematic for us. Try Barnes bullets. Very accurate and deal great energy/ damage for smaller game like Mulleys and Whitetails. I Haven't ever had the pleasure hunting anything over 300 lbs. Haha Best of luck!

Great video guys. Eric, As for the Muzzleloader, I've found I really don't lose much until after I've taken 4 shots. I guess if I was in a shooting competition, then I'd clean after every shot, but as you know, being a half inch off here and there while hunting big game is nothing to worry about.

I dont know about the comment on the Horn Hunter not being a good expedition pack. I have had mine on 3 different week long 50 mile pack trips in the wilderness living out of my pack every day. It worked so well. Also on Multiple extended back country hunts where we base camp 10 miles deep and are able to drop part of the Horn Hunter full curl pack at camp and hunt from there with just the light weight frame. One of the best Multi day packs out there and I have tried lots of packs. Not sure what the reason you would think they were expedition pack worthy. Must be other variables in the decision to switch. Good videos guys keep them coming.

3500 is good up to 5 days...anything more we'd want to bump up the bag size to 5500.

Use the pellets for the muzzle loader much faster and in my experience the powerbelts suck i use sabertooths if you can get them they expand way better then the pbs

B/Mac- I’m curious what sleeping bag you use? (Thought it might have been by Western Mountaineering). What brand, which model? Is it ideal thru elk season, all conditions?

    • @gethushin

Yes...Western Mountaineering - Alpinelite 20 degree bag. It was awesome this year.

Great videos.. From my experience with shooting/hunting, always zero for 100yds, and use a quality scope best suited for your application.. Also try a few different brands and grain weights of ammo to see what your rifle likes best, find which have the tightest groups, and stick with that.. Now for the sub 2000 kid.. They’re not “clips”, and don’t be a douché trying to bump fire on social media, “you didn’t even do it right btw”.... especially with the current media climate relating to bump firing... I love watching all your videos, with the ups and downs, positive messages, and your learning experiences..

Shoot whatever is most accurate in YOUR gun. I like blackhorn 209. It’s accurate and you don’t need to clean your gun between shots.

I'm not sure if I'm seeing it wrong but doesn't the scope on her gun have tactical turrets? Why would you sight it in 3 inches high when you could have a chart made up and use the turrets?
