Hey Kiwis, I have just watched a couple of this Fair Go episodes, I am taken a bit back by just how tame and even polite the Kiwi crooks being chased after by the Fair Go journalist are in comparison to the Aussie crooks. Here in penal Australia, if some current affairs journalist go after these Aussie crooks by approaching their place of work or home, they would swear like a drunk sailor and threaten the journalist that they are going to smash their face in, turn on the water hose and spray the journalist, shirt-front the journalist, push the journalist. It's why you should never buy from off market lots, particularly ones that are willing to give you finance no matter your credit history. Those guys are always selling vehicles that aren't roadworthy
Exhaust manifolds especially on turbos are covered in heat shielding and can be cracked in multiple places and you'd never know even with a torch and a keen eye, I've seen it many times, no obvious leaking smell or sound to indicate a crack but pull the heatshielding off and there they are. It's actually a very common thing I find on cars I'm stripping other parts from. I'd say 1 out of 5 90's-10's Japanese cars have cracked manifolds.
