- Echo Auto from Amazon brings all the power of Alexa into your car! But is it worth it, and is it right for you?

Thanks for the review Adam. The dilema in my car is music, my radio stations sucks they play the same damn music all the time. My primary use at home for echos are music. So only for that reason and been able to not use dumb Siri I’m getting one. The rest is just cherry on top if I ever use it. Nice video!!!

I have one and have mainly enjoyed it. My older car has neither Bluetooth nor aux jack, so I have the Echo Auto attached via aux cable to a Bluetooth-to-FM transmitter. Once it is set up, I find most functions to work well. I have an Android phone and some functions are smoother than with an iPhone, based on reviews I've seen. For example, the Echo Auto will open Google Maps without my having to touch the phone. Sometimes I have to set it up a few times to get it to come through the speakers, but that's probably down to quirks of feeding it through the transmitter, which it wasn't really designed to do.
Very creative solution, love it! Got it - would be nice if Google Maps was that way on iPhone too, definitely lowers the convenience factor. Thanks for sharing!
I don’t necessarily agree with Adam. Yes I am heavily vested in Echo, however, it makes it very easy for me to move between things like Audible, Pandora, etc., while driving. I don’t typically ask for directions while driving nor do I want to go to gas stations I haven’t pre planned. I do find the “bong” that it gives you when it acknowledges the wake work a little low and haven’t found a way to increase that yet, but it seemed to work well in your car. Thanks for the review.

I have one. I took out a bluetooth adapter with play/pause, previous and next buttons. Wish I kept it because this thing sucks. It does the same thing "hey Google" does. And good luck getting into connect, it never does because it needs the Alexa app open in the background to work. Save your money for a bluetooth adapter.
I will change the air vent fixture to fixed permeant to dash. Don't like Air vent or Screen fix setup.

Hi Kiran! I did some quick research and didn’t see anything specifically about Echo Auto country restrictions. Once it becomes publicly available for sale there will probably be more information about it. Since other Echo devices work in India, I don’t see why not - but more info to come!

@@StuffAdamLikes its all good. I always yell at Alexa anyway. Sometimes (ok, a lot of times) she's not too bright. I have purchases through Alexa turned off and somehow she was able to order audible by misunderstanding the TV commercial that had nothing to do audible. She even responds to the TV on occasion when she "thinks" she hears her name. For me, the absolute worst offense is, when I use her as a morning alarm and she's blaring- I say Alexa, cancel alarm and she responds "Alarm canceled " and goes right back to alarming, like she's doing it to piss me off on purpose. She gets stuck and the only way to shut it off is to unplug her. We have a love Haye relationship. Lol
