Hey TaE, It for sure affects all damage on target, it requires a dot to be active though. This is why viper and pain clasp pair very well. It's worded "increases damage dealt by 24 .00% to enemies suffering from a continuous damage effect." There is a 1 star gem that effects dots only and it's worded " continual damage done is increased by 24%" it's called the eye of the unyielding. Hopefully this clears it up for you.
Why do you use “everlasting torment” over “mourneskull”? A lot people say it’s a very strong 2 star and I know it’s not craftable anymore but as f2p I’m still thinking whether to get it and rank it up to rank 4, then later on to rank 10.
@@Cicada.3301. it's because of my build, I have an essence that takes all my continual damage and puts it into one hit. Right now if you look at most crusaders they are running lots of dot damage to maximize that essence damage.
I 100% agree those are the runes to get first, but that early as f2p?...Doubtful. 40-50K plat for a 4% crit bump is a solid dps bump late in a career, but since we are talking early f2p career that same 40-50K could be 70-100 gem power. Not only is that a res and CR bump, but this early could easily end up being larger rank gem bonuses than 4% crit. For example 70gp towards ranking a zerker eye is more bonus than 4% crit. Also, there is the tiny, but non0, chance you will loot some of these runes as you play. Personally, I'd say first prio get all your 1 and 2 stars to r5. That's both very efficient gp use and gets you magic find bonuses. After that, I'd still prob eye gems, but runes would be more worth considering.
@@billtodd2194 ya I think getting your gems to rank 5 is important for the magic find in hindsight I should have brought that up in the video. As far as the crit it's definitely an opinion thing. I hard focus on pvp so for me I choose the crit, but your argument to go with gems is solid as well. It's definitely not a hill I'm willing to die on it was just my opinion. I should have mentioned what you said though about the importance of getting gems to rank 5 for the magic find to help you get more scrap for upgrades and better essences. I'll have to bring that up in future videos for sure so ty.
@@Tektalks1214 Runes didn't go in until I'd already decided to dolphin up, but were I to do it again I'd probably get the 4.5% bene shoulder runes somewhere around r6 1 and 2 stars as well as take the bsj and 2nd 5star to rank2. Then I'd finish the 1s and 2s to r10, the 5stars to r4. And finally get the crit runes and awakenings.

As an legit f2p (okay to not fool you around i've paid for 7 normal BP as an day one player to get cosmetics on classes and help out with fervent copies) it was an fabulous road to hit 3k. Yet my plan started at beginning with no clue of what's ahead (gem type, etc) so slowly overtime, with patience, farm, grind (no I didn't farm 4 alts like some do) it eventually came to the goal 2 months back. Shittiest luck you can ever imagine, highest drop gem was 3 star and it wasn't even much of them in total or some that I would need, all the 4stars i've gathered came from market by having patience for a good deal. But am I proud of myself? Definitely. Learned how the game works by myself, calculated all the math by myself, set my character and it's gem progression properly so I could be effective with any class. Having an actual luck of pulling more correct gems or more high star gems (and not wasting plat as i've done) I would be probably sitting near 4k now but it is what it is.
Lol that's epic man, I made so many mistakes on my main I probably wasted easily like 2 million plat so I 100 percent understand. Thx for sharing your journey, it's a grind for sure there is no sugar coating it.
awaking and runes are not free to play almost nothing in this game is. also if you are true free to play all you will buy is the season pass that's it everything else you are talking about is mid spender not free to play 3k res is over a grand period. or very close so for those that want true free to play this aint the video for you.
@@Reaper78665 you buy those all with plat and you can farm plat very easily in game. I assure it's very possible and very easy to do. I have several guides on how to farm plat.
