I agree with Bill on everything he said. I won’t use Wal-mart because 99% of the time, they don’t take cash unless I get on a hellish line and they make me bag my own items. I feel like started a grocery store chain where we don’t take the human element out of anything and the customers actually get service. Only in a world this insane, does my proposal sound like a novel idea. 😂
I organize the conveyor belt and bag like Tasha. 😂🤙🏼🤙🏼
Me, too. You can always tell who does most of the grocery shopping, because we are well organized. She is not wrong, either, about mixing certain non-food items with food.
Tasha's laugh is so infectious...............🤣
I thought I saw all Bill's bits on UA-cam, but never saw this one before.
When they are asking for personal info you become the product. They don't waste that time and paperwork for nothing. They sell the info to companies looking to target customers.
Love yall man love the work
I live in the Netherlands. All of our grocery stores have self service registers.
Things you will never see. - "You get a 10% discount for using our self-checkout services!" However, I still use them on occasion, simply because my time is more valuable than the convenience of someone else doing it. If I have to stand in line for 20 minutes, then screw it. I'll just do it.
Unfortunately some places now want to charge you a 2 or $3 service fee for using self-checkout.
Most people are genuinely bots 🤖, and will stand in a long line waiting for LITERALLY 5-8 whole minutes rather than just go to the EMPTY self-checkout machines where they could be out the store in 3.
I know cuz I work at Target. I lose faith in humanity every day💀.
@@davidnoel2977That is literally insane💀💀💀
Maybe it's not bots... maybe it's people who realize we don't work for target so it's not our job to check our shit out... it's yours
And then I still have to wait for some unmotivated employee to walk over and do a random check on my 2 items
Moore Bill Burr
Bill burr is soo relatable 😂
In the UK they don’t have baggers but they do ask you if you’re ok bagging your own. And then get someone if you need it. But most people just bag their own shopping
Three times in the past 20 years, at a self checkout at a grocery store, I had the scanner stop after every item and say, "Please wait for an associate". After 5 items and 15 minutes of waiting to check out 15 items, I tell the "associate" If this doesn't work on the next item, I am just walking out. 3 times I have had to say "Keep your shit, I am going to your competitor down the street." I usually make a big show for the other registers to see, hoping to end this madness.
Bill does the voice in an animated show called F is for Family.. You should review the show, so many crude, funny moments.. Nothing like it..
MOST countries don't have baggers.
I've lived in multiple EU countries and Japan. None of them had baggers. You're not only expected to bag the items yourself, you're expected to do so quickly enough that you don't hold up other customers.
Even in the US, I usually tell the checkout person to just ring up the items and pass them down to me so I can bag them myself. It's faster than if the cashier has to scan and bag.
Even when the grocery has baggers far too many have never been trained properly - i.e. meats don't go in the same bag as dried goods, etc.
I group things together on the conveyor belt too and they still put grapes in the bag with ground beef, or cheese with dish detergent.
Wow i really like this channel. You guys pick the best video's 👌 and your video format is like, watching this with friend, great channel
they're actually starting to get rid of self checkout at walmarts
Meijer (a major grocery in the northern midwest) added dedicated baggers to all their cashier checkout lanes and I'm here for it! With the price of groceries, I better not have to ring it up myself.
You guys need to watch this entire special that this clip came from
Self check out only works in countries like Canada or Japan 😅
ALWAYS PUT THE CHIPS AND THE BREAD ON THE CONVEYOR BELT LAST 😎😎
The other day i was at Target and there were huge lines and I noticed all the self check out stations were closed. So I asked an employee why they were all closed, he replied "Because we are short handed today". I just laughed and said "That doesn't make much sense does it? Being short handed should be the reason that the self check out is open". He laughed and said "Yeah you would think so". Turns out that as we talked he explained there is so many theft problems at the self check out they need several people watching the transactions.
Reminds me of an episode of That 70s Show where the waiter explains the idea behind the salad bar and saying ypu can to and make whatever salad you want and Red was like if she wanted to make a salad she would have done it at home lol. I love self check out usually because I can go faster and not have to wait in a line usually or have to talk to the cashier unless the machine has a problem.
I'll starve before I do self-checkout. People and jobs matter more than getting in and out.
Tasha is correct. There is a right way to pack an order, whether you're bagging groceries or packing crates in a warehouse. You try to put heavier things on the bottom, same-shaped packages together, and most importantly, never put food with non-food items.
i all so tell them no.. im the same way
I'm terrible at bagging.
Cold stuff goes with the cold stuff.
That's all I know
Tasha is sooooo right! lol! (Btw, if you haven't done the animated helicopter bit, go for it!)
And Amazon lied and had a 1000 Indian people running the "AI" automated cashier. Turns out it's more expensive than just hiring cashiers. So Amazon quit the automated checkout cause it never actually worked without outsourced labor. Bill called it years ago
I love self checkout 🤷♂️
Do supermarkets actually bag your groceries? You guys should try German Aldi and film the results
They have been advertising this no checkout grocery store for so long, when I first heard about it, it was a young Tom Selleck doing the ad, in like the 1990s. They can't seem to find a way around the part where the public steals all the food.
He is 100% Righht
Hi Tasha, you're actually following retail chain law by not putting your dryer sheets in the same bag as your chicken for the very reason you mentioned. All the way down to Publix receiving their merchandise from the warehouse. The truck will have food, then possibly paper goods, finally cleaning products for that very reason. Pay attention the next time you go through a normal checkout and how the employee bags your items. If they're following company policy, items will be in different bags, depending on what it is. bleach will be in one bag and your chicken in another bag...and it doesn't stop there. The bleach can't be in the same bag as your shampoo, simply because they're chemical products. Bagging has to avoid cross contamination. Aisles are separated due to the possibility of poisoning food with chemical products and not simply ease of shopping.
Last summer i walked into my local Iceland freezer centre to buy a few items and on reaching the checkout the girl asked me if i had a loyalty card, i said no, would i like one, again i said no then she proceeded to tell me as i`m a pensioner i could get a whopping 10% off my groceries - now, as i was the only customer bar one in the shop, she rang up the bill which came to just over £3 and i said out loud, OH WOW ! a whopping 30p off ! What delights could she tempt me with for a whopping 30p ? The other guy who was now behind me almost needed an ambulance from laughing.
Bill’s not terrible- he’s right lol
its crazy to me that you need a bagger in grocery stores and you dont do it yourself :D
Publix!!!?? You guys in Florida??
Ten bucks says he was in a Walgreens... I work for them... yes they ask for numbers all day
I am sooooo with Bill on this one. When I go to get a haircut, they ALWAYS ask for my f*cking phone number and I always look at them like they've gone insane and say "no; why would I want to give you my phone number. Are we friends now?"
They want the phone number either because they think it will make you a more loyal customer or because they want to sell your information. Either way, they can GFT. Bill will tell you the same.
Personally I think they can only go so far with automation. Because if no humans are working these jobs, who's going to be shopping the stores? Everyone is jobless, who's going to have money to buy stuff?
And on a separate note: working customer service, is a spin through hell.
Tasha with the spatial awareness.
Tasha you should get a job as a bagger part time and enter the national bagging competition.
Never had baggers here
Check out Bob Nelson
Don't put the tomatoes under the peanut butter
Thats why people suck, it should be mandatory for EVERYONE to work in customer service or record it and play it on TV for everyone to see.
The only way I would even consider using the self-checkout in these stores is if I get a serious discount for my purchase. If they don't have to pay an employee to check me out then why am I paying full price? Self-checkout = 30% Discount. I think that's more than fair.
Given theyre paying the employee $10-15/hr, why should you not using their labour for 5 minutes mean you get 30% off your $100 grocery haul? Youre saving them like $1.
I'll wait for a human cashier than using the machines. Then I'll use sign language to sign to the security cameras that we need humans. If all of the machines are taking human jobs, how are we to get money to pay? I was at a walmart during Black Friday. They had 3 registers with humans like it was any other day.
Your chickens are dipped in bleach before they're sold so I don't think a smell is going to mess with the flavour too much 😂
Jimmy Carr next pls🫡
The Amazon 'scan your whole cart' thing kind of died for some reason. Maybe it's still in beta testing but you don't hear much about it anymore. It's definitely a good idea to save time if they can perfect it. Forget Mars. Get my groceries outta this store faster.
this is when he was funny.
I can't believe that you need ppl to put things on a bag for you in the U.S 😄
Yea, they had the same cry babies when you had to pump your own gas, People would pump it and pull off without paying. Now you either prepay or put in your card. The days of full service is almost over so cry or shop online.
The idea of someone else pumping my gas is so foreign and affluent to me. It literally takes no effort to do it yourself and now you dont have to tip the service attendant.
Oh wow how do you manage to survive having to put your own groceries in a bag. First world problems!
