This is the sixth, I think, installment with Michael Mitchell and he has an awesome way of explaining these theological doctrines. He's got the grit, down to earth personality, and unique pedagogy. He is a great addition to the podcast and I hope we see more of him. Great stuff

One view that I've found edifying on why God created man was because God wanted to bless man. He knew how good it would be for us to have the ability to commune with Him. I think this can joined with the reasons you guys discussed but it offers a nice perspective for how good and loving He really is.

Michael Mitchel is hilarious, why doesn't he have a podcast? 🔥😭🤣 And he should share his recipe for the habanero salsa, because I am a chili-head too.

I never considered if Jesus was born of a sin nature, however, I did run into scripture that just blew my mind. Isaiah 7:14-16. It doesn't answer the question if he was born with a sin nature, yet, it does state an age of accountability. I take it as an understanding of knowing right from wrong. However, does this question of Jesus having a sin nature pertain to if He had child like tendency? Are we wondering if he said no back to his mother, or scrapped a knee after being told not to run in the house? What really does the question mean did Jesus have a sin nature? And by what measure are we looking to weigh the answer?

I've been enjoying this series. Kinda lost me with the idea of erasing the concept of subordination from the new testament, as if it's always a bad thing. Most the typology of the bible is subordination in love. Shepard/sheep, father/son. Paul used for himself the title slave much more than bride. Obviously both add to the beautiful picture.

A year late, but now viewing. Michael in explaining foundational belief makes a step that I’m unclear on. He say we first ask is there a God, them what is God. This is clear.
Then later he says talking about the bible, that we trust it because we trust the Apostles, we trust the Apostles because we trust Christ.
Where I’m unclear is why we trust Christ? Why do we know who He is?
Is it because the bible testimony of His divine acts? If so, this seems circular.
Is it because we hear the Truth of the gospel and through the work of the Spirit we somehow know its true?
Thanks! Hope you see this question.

Christ was born through woman, we were all born in sin; yet, Jesus was sinless (which I believe), so can you explain this?

Christ was born of a virgin, thus avoiding the sin nature passed down through our fathers and ultimately our federal head (Adam.)
