Not only was she lying but she was strangling the dog
That scene definitely set off something in me wish i could %^$*$*$ uggghhhhhhhh

The dog was so glad to see this man probably trying to escape this wick witch
Yvette Parker, omg the way she handled that doggie, why did they give him back to her, she alllegedly got her ex to court, tried to get her doorman fired, evil woman, and tried to get Christian in trouble with cops for bird watching, I often feel sad for people with mental issues, but she is evil
@@katlap3101 Poor dog too, along with all the people she hurt and tried to hurt in her life. I hope her landlord evicted her and animal rights activists will get that dog into a safer home.
Hey she was given her dog back .
Chris Cooper should start his own UA-cam channel about birding. He has such a nice voice and gave great details about the birds.
I THINK MR. COOPER WOULD BE GREAT ON A YOU TUBE CHANNEL ABOUT BIRDING!! A TEACHER!
AMEN! How can we get him to do it???
He should start an onlyfans. I'd watch his bird alright.
He cute
Merri Rich I think so too. ❤️
This is the most unapologetically nerdy thing I've ever seen and I love it. His excitement for spotting an olive-sided flycatcher (who ever heard of such a thing?!) makes me want to take up bird watching.
Great comment.
Me. I saw an Olive sided Wood pecker last summer. What a fantastic bird. It was at Alley Pond park
Lol! It's s just absolutely adorable to me! He's so intelligent and also just a big ol kid at heart!🥰🥰🥰
If he can identify an olive-sided flycatcher, that man is good 😅 Empids are no joke!!
If a person can do that to a brother in glasses who's "birding", none of us are safe.. Imagine if he had not recorded the incident and didn't look and sound like a Cosby show character..
@ohsevenone man ... Shut up.
@NYCRudeBoy Thank you for shutting him up he is making me loose brain cells

I could watch a show of this guy bird watching. He’s so knowledgeable and enthusiastic!
Exactly 💕💕💕
Somebody should get this man a show.
You're right! He should have his own show!
Absolutely
I would watch that.

Why is she an embarrassment to you?! Unless both of you have the same biases! Quit apologizing for what you have no involvement in, unless you're a closet racist!
@@obie4366 her behavior is an embarrassment to any of us in the human race dear, or should be, for the way she acted towards not only that man but her dog. I'm not a closeted anything, I wouldn't be out making assumptions like that either. Because throwing out words like that can really hurt, and you'd be no better assuming on my beliefs or behavior as she was that man. I believe in human compassion and kindness and what she displayed wasn't even close.
@Amandamusic80 I agree with you and in the end, she got her ass, handed to her and like he said. It blew up in her face, hoping her dog is in a much better home and with a much better owner.

It is a bit of a pricey hobby, but if you can put aside some for a used 8x42 pair of binoculars in good conditions, it will be a fantastic start! Or you can just begin without any tools, and try to challenge yourself with learning birds you can see and hear around the neighborhood. Enjoy!
This guy looks like he does a rep for every single bird he spots in the morning.
Lmaooo
Loneamaruq I don’t think he wanted to tho he seems like a very gentle and passive person
I love how he doesn't really care about telling what happened he just wants to talk about the birds 🐦
Yep...he loves birds. He is a wonderful human being.
Ms Cooper was just trying to get exercise for her dog. If only Mr Cooper tried to explain the importance of dog leashes in this lovely bird watching are, he could have made a friend instead of a target.
@@aixamagr2897 I know that you mean well, but this is a covert form of victim blaming. He did the right thing in the situation he was in and shouldn't have needed to over-explain the rules of the park or overtly showcase his humanity to get her to leash her dog. She should've just followed the leash law and not have called the cops on a Black man literally doing nothing but bird watching (Black people have been killed by cops for doing far less [ex: Breonna Taylor being murdered while just sleeping in her bed]). Her being called out for her racism and losing her job is a far better outcome than this man potentially losing his life.
Yeah. That posture is for the birds.
@@PsychedelicSmurf Chris Cooper, is NOT a police officer and has no business, explaining anything, to anyone. He is a busy body with a big nose and a big mouth. He uses his big nose, to stick in other people's business then uses his big mouth to complain about how they react, instead of just leaving them alone, in the first place.

Me too Nikki I'm trying to get a birdwatching date! :)
In all honesty. He is an incredible human being. I'm honored to have him on our team & only wish him the best, but I like to think I'm the best sooooooo you never know....
The worst thing you can say is that a black man is well spoken ive never heard that said about a white man like we can't speak proper English lol
Give me a break, in the black community they would be calling this guy gay and saying hes trying to be white because he speaks properly and has varied interests.
I love how they show him freely existing in his element first to establish his humanity and gentleness which is often diluted by the story. Pure, unadulterated Black joy and intelligence! Couldn't be a more gentle and harmless spirit. Shows how much racism can threaten our humanity.
"Pure, unadulterated Black joy ....." its amazing you state that racism can threaten our humanity but you cant seem to understand that when you constantly put your physical attributes at front and center of everything your say, that its you and people who think like you, that are the real problem. Your constant, tribal, segregation, is the problem you think your speaking out against. If you really, truly, want to live in a civilization that doesn't value physical attributes, like we do with say... height, then you cannot keep saying, black this or black that, and then call whites racist if they do the same thing.

No, my initial reply is spot on, concise, and well thought out. You don't understand what i'm trying to say. A lot of people show pride in their culture, thats different. Stop comparing yourselves to everyone else. But you and your type put your biology before anything else, and then you call white people racist if they do the same thing. Its you that sucks the energy out of the room..cause everyone has to walk on thin ice, knowing that a hyper-sensitive black person is present. You edited your reply..and took out the part where you said you experienced racism that i cant understand, bla, bla, bla. You experienced some racism?..tough fuckin' shit. Grow up and get it through your skull that the world and everyone in, is not perfect. What you consider "racism" and "oppression" is just crap white people consider everyday life stuff that that you deal with the best you can. This is what everyone is so sick of... your whining, hypocritical, oh woe's me i'm oppressed, how dare you don't put me on a pedestal, type attitude. Most people just love and respect themselves without announcing it to the world. Build the type of reputation that speaks for itself.

And so knowledgeable about birds and I am scared of birds ever since Hitchcock’s birds but this makes me appreciate nature and beauty all around us,
Who would be scared of this guy? He seems like a genuinely nice human being.. for real
No one. That’s the point. She was never scared. Obviously. She just wanted her way.
I think she was just outraged at having him point out her rule breaking, his insistence that she stop & his refusal to be back down in the face her dangerous racist ploy to salve her own ego. He was far more protective of those birds, than she was of her dog. After being given the grace to have her dog returned, I hope she treats him/ her like royalty from now on & I hope she’s learned what ugliness can fester inside us, when we refuse to be accountable & seek to scapegoat others, instead. She has a troubling history of harassing people.
Heather King-Smith I agree. Now imagine her being a teenager. More horrific school experience dose not exist.
he implied a threat against her dog and tryed to get it to come to him with treats. He pre-meditated the event also as he himself stated.
Only blatant racists! She would probably have said nothing if it was a white man asking her to leash her dog. This woman should get a fine for her racist behavior and for threatening an innocent man!
There is nothing better than seeing the pure joy he gets from birding. We may not relate with the birds but we can all relate with that level of joy in the things we love.

Yeah, it totally leaves out where he described in his own words on his own fb page that he looks to scold people for breaking leash laws because he has been bitten before. He then proceeds to explain that he told her she either needed to leash her dog or take it up to the area where they can be off the leash. She explained that there was nobody else in the area and that the designated area to let your dogs run has a gate that the dogs can get out into the street. He then proceeds to tell her "If you think you can do what you want, then I am going to do what I want, and you aren't gonna like it." As a woman alone in the park who just had a very large and fit man tell her this, you would not perceive this as threatening? What isn't she going to like, is he going to report her or is he going to attack her and take her dog? There is always 2 sides tl a story but unfortunately when something is created to be told this way, people don't want to hear the other side. He gave a pretty clear description of what her side may be. If this was you, and a strange man came up to you in an empty area of a park and said these things to you, you wouldn't be concerned? So she calls police and says a black man just threatened her, he is black and he did just threaten her but I suppose we shouldn't say anything so as to not come across as racist when someone who is not white levels a threat at us.

@Your mother I mean he told her "If you're going to do what you want, I'm going to do what I want. And you're not going to like it". And proceeds to call after her dog and try and feed the dog something. She definitely overreacted but you'd be lying if you wouldn't be concerned for your dog's safety after what he was trying to do, especially after what he said.
@@jasonmasters243 She didn't call the police because she was concerned with her dog's safety. She had her dog well away from Mr. Cooper whilst attempting to restrain it, before she mentioned calling the police. She was couldn't have been so threatened by Mr. Cooper as she approached *him* in an attempt to block his phone camera from filming her. She asked Mr. Cooper not to film her (with would incriminate and identify her as being a dog-owner in an area of the park that forbids her dog being off its leash, off its leash) he did not comply. THEN she called the police. She even said "please take your phone off me" when he didn't she said "then I'm taking a picture and calling the cops". In what world can this be interpreted as she wasn't calling the police simply because she did not want to be filmed? She said it herself... She proceeded to exaggerate her encounter with him, mentioning his race presumably hoping for a swifter and more heavy-handed response. He, a black man had the gall to disobey executive high-earning white woman and it shook her. So she call her private security to take him away. What am I seeing wrong here?
Times have changed though. Not long ago the media would have sided with the white woman and attacked the black man.
@@pureounce.9184 Have you read his account on facebook where the video is posted? He did threaten her before he began recording. I think his statements to her and calling her dog then the recording where it actually looks like she was about to put on the leash, made her call. His statements weren't in the video. He stayed after she called and the police eventually came. He had left by that time. I think he actually wanted to talk with them. He could have showed them the video.
@goodmorningamerica, thank you for this story. What a sweet, kind, gentle man. This is the first I've seen of him outside if the initial story. My heart is overwhelmed with how truly kind he is and is such a bird nerd. This could have been such a different tragic outcome. I'm glad he is safe out there doing what he loves.
African-American bird lover here … checking in … my dad taught me to love watching birds. We always had hummingbird feeders in our yard. I put out suet for the bluebirds a few times. We’ve enjoyed watching a variety of feathered friends pass through. Birds are amazing and I enjoy their presence … sometimes more than humans!!!!
This mans mental freedom is aspiring and I hope we all get to connect with the things we love regardless of the worlds attempt to tell us that we don’t deserve to live.
I absolutely love what you wrote! It’s so very true!
😘😘😘😘😘
Deep!
Yesss! 💕

“Everybody should be seen, because everybody is here”. Beautiful 🥰
?
No
@Peach Brain You are special.
His nerdiness is so inviting to me. I'm glad he had his phone to record what was happening. He seems like a genuinely cool person. Glad he's ok.
You have such a Kind heart and I am so sorry that you had to go thru that..
So when will we see her thrown in jail for making a false accusation? That's all I'm here for.
We all wish...
bro_t she won’t just a caution it’s called white privilege bro 👍🏽
Maggie Edwards no, it’s called a flawed justice system. Even if you could prove a white privilege, there is no way that a story with this much media coverage would succumb to such an exclusion. There probably won’t be any charges because there are rarely are in these cases no matter what race a person, research it.
Chinese Virus you have to talk a certain way to be black? Daaaamn along with your user name I would say your kinda racist
Chinese Virus I’m sorry you haven’t met any black bird watchers if anything it shows your lack of awareness when it come to your people. I know many black engineers, black astrophysicist, black professors, black scientist, and black animators who speak like this. There are black people who like anime and Japanese culture dude. It’s a shame you feel the need to shame people just because they don’t fit your image of what that person should be. I’m Mexican American but faced this same type of shame from my fellow Mexicans just because I “spoke white”. And was interested in US political and history . I was raise in a predominately white area and grew up around that accent, you are a reflection of where you grow up. It doesn’t mean I’m not proud of being Mexican I go to Mexico every year for two month since I was born to visit my family. What my hobbies are have nothing to do with who I am racially and ethnically. It’s a shame your world view is so small. Instead of “flaming” guy for liking birds why not look into what bird watching is, you might like that hobby too🤷🏽♀️
I love his enthusiasm, how could anyone hate this guy?
It’s not the guy, it’s what his (our Black race) represents. The hate is irrational and intentional.
What a warm individual - and what a great message about the spirit of birds.
I love people with passion about anything and this man exudes passion. God bless.
He's such a nerd. See ya'll? Black people aren't scary. We are lovable too.
Systemic oppression and hatred of people based on their melatonin, and the complicated social ramifications, are indeed scary. This man is very obviously not at all "scary" in any way to any sane person at first glance.
She approached him, she was not scared. She’s a terrible person.
He, on the other hand, seems to be just lovely. 🥰
He's a goofy, sweet, positive. Sorry that happened to him. I don't accept her apology.
😂 he’s such a nerd. I love this guy!
This is literally what I thought when the story first hit and he started talking. He’s too nerdy to be a threat 😂
She’s not sorry she did it she’s sorry she got caught.
She was provoked and acting bad, but she was still provoked. This idiot never apologized for what HE did.
SHE'SNOT WORTH 2 MINUTES OF OUR TIME
Facts
@@melissasmith6762 Provoked? Please, she took her dog off its leash in an area where dogs must be leashed at all times. Central Park is a huge park and the Ramble is just a protected section of it meant for the BIRDS, not for dogs to piss and shit and trample. This man just told her she was breaking the rules and she freaked. She brought all this upon herself. Why should he have to apologize for making the rules known to her? The only one who raised their voice in that confrontation was the woman. Shame on you and her.
@@vibrantpixeIs You didn't read his facebook account of what happened before the recording like most people haven't. The original minute+ video and this report don't mention it and it makes the story here incomplete and misleading. Most MSM aren't telling people HOW she was threatened. She also never told 911 her life was in danger. Even she realized that was going too far.
Here is a part of what she said about the threat:
“When Chris began offering treats to my dog and confronted me in an area where there was no one else nearby and said, ‘You’re not going to like what I’m going to do next,’ I assumed we were being threatened when all he had intended to do was record our encounter on his phone,” Ms. Cooper said. “He had every right to request that I leash my dog in an area where it was required.”

Chris cooper's explanation:

Please explain to me how telling someone *You’re not going to like what I’m going to do next* and then pulling something out without telling you what it is, while calling your dog over isn't threatening?
A lot of people don't put their dogs on leashes. Black people too. Some people also litter, trespass, make noise etc.
Should they all be threatened and so upset they call 911? If Mr Cooper wanted to be more he helpful he could have explained WHY it was so bad to keep the dog off the leash in that area, like he has done for the media. I suspect he was perfectly happy to find someone like Amy Cooper to take make an example of. George Floyed and Ahmaud Arbery were in the news at the time. Mr Cooper knew putting this incomplete inflammatory video would make people think this woman was crazy choking her dog and trying to kill Mr Cooper.
Look at these comments. He accomplished this and now is a celebrity. Cooper lost her job and maybe her life if death threats are realized.
He was not worried he would be arrested or in any danger. He said himself he continued bird watching after recording.

IF you think this is progress toward racial/social justice *I wish you the same luck as Amy Cooper*
He’s so darn cute in his bird-watching glory!
What a beautiful and kind spirit!
Good to see a man just being himself with no judgement from foolish people.
You made that shit up. No one's judging anyone.
Bertram Davis exactly
@@melissasmith6762 stop trying to gaslight people and just learn to listen. My goodness people like you give me a migraine.
@@msshana7802 Ok idiot, show me where people were judging him for bird watching. Unless you meant judging him for his stupid behavior with that woman, then I'd agree, and he deserved it.
@@melissasmith6762 are you stupid or are you dumb? Or both? What makes you think he hasn't been judged just because you don't see it. Who are you to prove anything to? Like wtf?? Please get your ignoramus self in check. Your racism is definitely showing Karen. You are probably the woman in the video too. Racist trash.
The way he’s geeking out over birds made tear up and I don’t know why 😭😭
This TV segment is such a profound and moving way to honor Chris Cooper and reject racism after that sad incident in the park. Great job GMA!
i love him so much 😭😭😭😭 he has such a passion for birds and he gets so excited haha 🐦
This guy's wholesome level: 100%
He loves nature, he is sensitive, has a good heart and she is a monster.

So rich and pure wisdom.
He looks like a hidden character marvel super hero.
Your glee at seeing the cardinal...priceless...I get the same way
He's so passionate, This dude is a professional bird watcher!
He is simply a breath of fresh air. He is what the world needs to remember this planet is a gift to us all. Take time to appreciate the best things in life. Love.
Just awesome and I am so happy that there are people like him who really enjoy and love nature. God bless him
This man is what we need in our lives this man should be a figure we look up to he stands up for the right thing and stands up to bullies. He is peaceful and so wholesome this guy is a true legend. I have never been interested in bird watching at all but I felt bad for this guy but its good to see that he wasn't majorly affected by this video from what I can see. Have a good day everybody!
This guy also writes comics for Marvel too. Holy crap the guy is amazing.
Chris is so genuine. Proud to be his friend.
You have a wonderful friend in your life wow.
Jealous! Love him from just these few minutes. I’d love to improve my birding skills to his level. Must be surreal to have this encounter blow up the way it has!
Please tell him some of us wanna keep learning about birds! Maybe a UA-cam or something?
He's such a cool person!
Convince him to do guided bird tours...it would be worth every penny.
He looks like the sweetest person ever doing the sweetest hobby ever.
He’s warmed my heart 🥺 Oh my gosh.
Who else was getting excited when Chris identified the species of the bird and hadn’t a clue what birds they are?
My mom's a birder, so while I couldn't recognize the songs or know which species a bird was if I saw it, I did know the names of the species. The birds on the fence I knew...papa cardinal is hard to miss. :-)
He’s excitement is contagious!
You can feel the intellect and the nerdiness of this man.... but you can also feel the calmness of his heart to ignore ignorance of morons...well done my friend!!!
“Not just a Baltimore Oriole”
I pictured Cedric Mullins up there, for some reason 😂😂😂
I love how excited he got when he saw the bird he was looking for.
