good to see Malacia back, he's going to need to more confidence building with that knee - I feel like he'd have previously put in a slide tackle where he was beaten for pace on the goal
Bruno's potential positional switch interests me a lot. When the system works, one of the AMs drops deeper while his opposite CDM moves higher, creating an almost zigzag midfield with the central CD and the striker as the end focal points. I think Amorim's plan is to play Bruno here, as a midway point between the 10/Second Striker and the 6/8 starting point, allowing him to utilise his passing while getting him used to the deeper zone so he can fit in as the #8 when needed or late in the game and we need a new attacking option in his starting position. It really emphasises how major a subtle shift can be to a player's role. From what I've seen of Amorim, he's willing and able to help the other players (Antony, Rashford, etc), so it's now down to how much the players are willing (and capable) of learning. Do you think Antony is one who can learn? One of the TalkSport commentators made the comment that he isn't, so I'm naturally leaning towards the opposite. Maz was insane last night. I think between him in the defence, Ugarte's history of playing under Amorim, and Bruno learning everyone's role so he can be the coach's on-field assistant, the players aren't going to have too many excuses come the end of the season/next season. That's three people who understand the new system enough to kick the other players into doing what they should be doing once the boss has had time to pass on his ideas (rather than them taking control now and coming across as changing Amorim's instructions). I think once March hits, there will be little room for excuses from those who aren't buying into the new way of things. Also, thank you for slowing your words down. It's much appreciated, and helped my sleep-addled brain keep up with the video.
regardless what happens i'm happy to FINALLY have a modern manager who wants to attack and press properly. None of this shit where Ten hag is too scared to push his defence up.
The malacia goal wasnt every defender being one to one...we had a plus one with mazraoui there...deligt doesn't have the pace to cover for someone else which is why I think yoro will eventually own that position... mazraoui was available to cover the second runner...the CCB has to have enough pace to cover a defenders misreading of a long ball...the GK too should be comfortable coming out for the crazy long long balls and onana is definitely comfortable.
Finally we actually have a clear plan of play, nothing against ten hag, I hope he become successful in his next club but man, it really feels so bad when he manage the club, I just cannot see his style of play
I bet once Maino returns, he will partner Urgate in the double pivot. Bruno will be pushed back higher as the 10 with Amad/Rashford. I believe that would make us so much better.
In my opinion it’s not about athleticism. Bruno is not used to play e this position. I think he just didn’t think quick enough that he was supposed to be covering that area of the pitch. And that’s ok… it’s just the second game of the new manager and the players are still trying to understand the new tactics
@@victorbensoniwuozo6850 it has nothing to do with criticism mate, I know he isn’t usually accustomed to a deeper role like that but he knew where the danger was if he was athletic enough he would have made the tackle or something. (I AM NOT OVER LOOKING HIS WORK RATE AT ALL)
If it's about athleticism, who is the best player to play that role please? I hope you won't say Mainoo, because he's not even as fast as Bruno. Neither is Eriksen. Maybe we could consider Ugarte, Casemiro
4:34 - you hit the nail in the head! Bruno's transition to be our Calhanoglu feels like the right thing to do. Worried about where Mainoo will play but will continue to work on the problem...
Nah Mainoo will be back in. Bruno lacks athleticism to play there for most games but can be used there later on in games. Could be used in a similar role further forward but being given more freedom to drop deep, which we saw in the second half vs Ipswich.
Only on that occasion, he just doesn’t have the athleticism for the role. Not his fault just Man Utd don’t have a player to play that role whilst Mainoo is out.
Mainoo isn't that fast either. We have to remember that goal is a result of a poor ball into the midfield, even mazroui is out of position. Won't put the blame on Bruno for that.

Found it strange that malacia was constantly able to get into crossing positions but they doubled down on Antony almost always
The BODO right winger wasn't providing alot defensive cover tbh
Antony gave more threat to Bodo compare to malacia
Antony played well as he was doubled down a lot of times, he can improve.
Blessings king that's me in the chat love your videos

I would say atleast we're talking about United style of play in just two games of New Manager than other season.
Was 2 seasons 😭😭😭
Apparently we are linked to Theo Hernandez what’s your thoughts on it? Or would you rather get Davies?
One of the reasons ten hag bought mount. Good at pressing and such a complete midfielder.
i liked the Mount Antony combination they need to play together often

I’m glad you mentioned the down side of playing Bruno Fernandes in the double pivot, the athleticism isn’t just there for him to play that role

Well said. Most people are so quick to criticize players

mainoo and urgate for the further, bruno and mount at 10, and holjund at 9. amad and "Davis" at wingback.
Amad no 10, he’s wasted at wing back

Does Amorim's use of an inverted centerback a problem in build up keeping in mind that few defenders can play that role
is it just me or do you sound sick loool
My team is awesome,I told y'all
Our goalkeeper is awesome, I told y’all
@AtlantisFootball yes you did buddy yes you did 🫱🏾🫲🏿🔥
Davies and Frimpong would truly be transformative. We need better wing backs and we need a monster like Baleba in midfield.
Ugarte + mount = our best pressing game in a while
Nah Mount’s shit remember 😏
Everybody pressed, except rashford of course, I don't know what this obsession with mount is.
I get you're bieng sarcastic but his shit overall especially last night
@@chill-warlords he just wasn’t tho was he

I thought Antony was dreadful yet again
He was at the start but got better
No he didn't he was bad all game

Bruno as a 6 isn't working he failed to track back for the equalizer
He isnt a 6, he is an 8 in that position. And if you complain on Brunos work rate and back tracking you are quite lost.
I think shancho will do well in that system just like mount is reviving
