This is absolutely awesome! Some great tips and techniques! Would love more indeepth build videos of these panels if possible please! Very inspirational 👏🏻
Good job with the nicely chosen greebles. I don't like the effects of dry brushing on such large and diverse surfaces. I prefer to paint everything silver and cover it with thinned black paint and modpodge glue. After application, wipe the protruding elements with a cloth. This way we avoid chaotic lines drawn by the brush bristles. This is my opinion and experience ;)
Great job as always Kelly. Love the medicine bottles. I must ask, are you hot gluing everything in there? I use a combination of Hot glue, Cyanoacrylate, Gorilla & 2 part epoxy putty. I find the putty works the best but I'm still looking to ask other builders what they like. For heavy parts I use screws. Just curious if you have a go to for this mash up of very different materials.
Yes your correct I use CA glue with a combination with hot glue screw down the heavy parts and use hot glue to cover up the screws . It’s a mess but the first coat of paint hides it all
This is so awesome! I’m totally stealing this technique. Do you reuse your brushes, or just toss them? What is the front frame made from? Is it MDF or EVA foam? Such a great look. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Thanks bro ! Yes I reuse all my brushes especially the ones from the rub and buff paints . The front frames are 1/4” mdf . I draw out a design from scratch and use a jig saw to cut out . No eva foam was used in these latest panels believe it or not
Excellent easy demo! Just bought me some rub and buff myself, never used it before. But after seeing several other builders use it, SR I’m looking at you sir, I’m gonna give it a go for sure. Question: how do you build the boxes? Are they just MDF and nails/wood glue or are they foam? I’m not experienced with woodworking. I’ve been using old tablet/iPad/iPhone boxes so far but I need to start making sturdier but light boxes with frames, like yours.
Thank you ! I need to do a quick video on how I make the boxes . Not the greatest way but it works . I use 1/4’ mdf sheets with wood glue and CA glue then reinforce with hot glue
Dude! A full video!! Right on man!
Thanks Brian ! Fun fast build
I love how basic yet detailed everything looks.
Thank you , so much fun to build these
