Re: Buffy's crimped hair. There's a subtle visual gag running through the series: Buffy has crimped hair in any episode that features an altered reality (or, as here, an altered Buffy).
I've just realised the double meaning of the title. You give something blue as a wedding present. And Willow is blue because she's depressed. It has only taken me 20 years.
I didn't understand the title until I'd seen a _Doctor Who_ episode that went through the whole rhyme. And I'd attended dozens of weddings, and participated in a couple, including my own. But then, that whole rhyme is not part of my cultural experience.
@@menachemsalomon I didn’t want to give you a hard time but since it’s not really part of your cultural experience- actually the rhyme applies to what the bride traditionally wears, not gifts that are given. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. I believe to wear all four items is considered good luck.
@@stephaniebarker472 That was the OP. In my tradition, bride and groom carry nothing; in fact, all pockets are emptied, all knots are untied (shoelaces are tucked in), and the groom wears something resembling burial shrouds, and may actually be used as part of the burial shrouds. But sometimes, one or another of the garments is actually borrowed from someone considered to be a holy individual, and thus often is old. In my case, it was a belt wrap, but I've seen grooms wearing skullcaps that could be decades old, sometimes more than a century.
Spike and Riley are the only ones who truly see how Willow is suffering, while her friends understand that she is feeling blue, they don't understand how she is truly feeling, despite knowing her the best.
I love how D'Hoffryn seems all menacing and you think he's going to be mean about Willow refusing to become a vengeance demon, and instead he says genially, "Okay! Here's my talisman. Call me if you change your mind." Cracks me up! Fun little twist.
It's a great twist, but considering he recruits vengeance demons (largely seeming to be wronged women) it actually kind of makes sense that he would take a "no" as a "no".
Buffy: Spike and I are getting married! Xander: How? What?! How? Giles: 3 excellent questions. Xander: Can I be blind too? One of my favorite exchanges. SO funny! I love love love the humor of this episode. And Buffy and Spike as a couple -- horrifying, or fun? Hard to say. 😉😆🤣
“Stop…whatever it is you’re doing… you smell like fruit roll-ups.” Hilarious. And a surprisingly useful phrase in a variety of situations, I’ve learned.
I always found it funny that Devon left Oz's room in such disarray when he got the rest of his stuff. Drawers wide open, furniture on it's side, the mattress half way off the bed, etc. Also I thought it was a nice touch that Buffy told Willow that she only saw Angel for 5 minutes in LA, because to her, it was only 5 minutes.
The Mayor goes through 100+ years of wishywashy deals and sacrifices to become a demon, Willow gets offered it after an afternoon of hilarious consequences. I know it's more to do with type, or 'level' of demon, but still kinda amusing.
Spike: [to Buffy] What are you lookin' at? Buffy Summers: [to Spike] The man I love. [they start kissing] Xander Harris: Can I be blind, too? 😂😂😂 One of the funniest episode of the season.
One of Buffy's funniest episode born out grief and frustration, this one has it all. Riley's face when Buffy says she's getting married always makes me laugh as does the 'What, How, What - 3 excellent questions! :)
You've met D'Hoffryn before in Season 3. When Anya was talking to him at the beginning of Doppelgangland episode. She was trying to convince him to give her powers back.
- Riley has the problem that many guys suffer from, including me, that is, he is too much of a "good guy" and guys like him, or me, often end up in the friendzone, losing out compared to the bad guys. Will Buffy fall in love with him like she fell in love with Angel? It's difficult to say now, although the feelings she is having for him are sincere. It's a shame that the question of the Initiative remains, which remains very mysterious, too mysterious! We don't know what they are hiding or even if they would accept the presence of the Slayer on their field of action! -The fact that Buffy leaves Spike alive now that he can no longer harm anyone confirms that she is in fact a heroine and not a murderer. James Masters and Sarah Michelle Gellar then confirm they have hilarious chemistry. Their characters provide memorable moments both hating and loving each other! Even if seeing them in love seems really wrong, you can't help but smile imagining them as a happy couple, or look forward to the moment when the spell would be broken and they would understand what had happened, XD Is Spike perhaps getting into that situation where the villain is forced to team up with the heroes and over time ends up liking them, and they for him? As an involuntary anti-hero he has so much potential and wouldn't lose all the coolness in his character. - The moment Buffy asks Giles to walk her down the aisle is truly perfect in every way. Totally wrong, absolutely hilarious also for good old Rupert's reaction and also very touching for the proof of how sweet Buffy's love is towards her mentor. For him who loves her like a daughter, it is always an emotion to realize that Buffy also loves him as if he were her father. - Willow in this episode always goes from arousing compassion to annoyance due to the way in which she ends up venting her sadness on others. Certainly we can understand why she behaves like this, but she must also understand that even the people who love her cannot be there for us 24 hours a day. By just letting bad thoughts guide her, Willow even risked becoming a demon of vengeance, but luckily, for the moment, she managed to stop herself. The hope is that she will find a way to get out of the tunnel and get back up, without falling prey to frustration and pain. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! PS Yeah, Buffy in this season is incredibly beauty
Something I've always wondered: Willow inadvertently brought Amy back to human form for a split second without noticing. Had she noticed Amy behind her and not poofed her back into a rat, I wonder if Amy would have switched back to a rat when Willow ended her spell? All the other parts of Willow's spell went away (the demons after Xander, Giles' blindness, Spike and Buffy's 'romance'), so I wonder if her accidental spell for Amy would have been reversed too?
No because Amy was essentially already a rat when Willow cast the spell on herself so everything basically went back to what it was right beforeWillow cast that spell on herself.
Hope this one cheered you up after I Will Remember You, Jules. I notice the episode analysis begins with a discussion of Buffy's hair. I'm fairly sure hyper-awareness of Buffy's hair is the sign of a true BtVS fan. Your brain secretly begins cataloguing and indexing all the different styles until, before you know it, you'll be able to identify the season (or even episode) just by SMG's hairdo. It is known to be inevitable.
79 pages left in the book of Buffy and we don’t need a spell to fall in love with Juliette. She has welcomed all of us on her couch and we are blessed to be in her world.❤ Happy holidays to all the Jules Reacts family.
6:10 "So how is this going to go wrong?" Entertainingly 8:26 I always wondered how they convinced the actress that plays Amy to guest star in the episode for 4 seconds and not even get a single word of dialog. I love it when you predict the future without realizing it Also, 0:13 Keep it handy. I'm so, so sorry.
With the heartbreak of the previous "Angel" episode, this comedic "romantic" Buffy episode was much needed! The slayer/vampire romance played for laughs! "Something Blue" is in a class by itself. Buffy and Spike go from wanting to kill each other to making marriage plans. Poor Giles, his reaction is priceless. Of course, Willow didn't mean for it happen, it was her heartache over Oz leaving, and I love how Spike is the one who saw how much pain she was in. I was so looking forward to your reaction to this one and I was not disappointed. You rock, Jules! 🙂❤
'Riley is sweet, attentive, patient, loving...' You are so right, definitely not relationship material, gotta stick with the heart breaking bad boys. 😂 Thanks for the episode, hope you have a great christmas!
The first line that you used is this but for someone else. Not for her. And to think that people like Spike because they like bad boys is such a cliche. Spike is very popular character despite all efforts to discredit him. It's because he has enough charisma. He is interesting. He has strong personality. Not only because he is 'bad boy'. I don't have a thing for bad boys. All of mine were good guys and even the ones that you can call marriage material. And I was attracted to them. And I am absolutely not attracted to Riley. Although he even has similar look. Even this can't help. Because they actually forgot to add personality in him. These 'sweet etc' is nothing. And by the way, don't say that good guys can't break hearts. But I have to say that Spike is extremely attractive character and a guy. And I don't care about his bad boy attitude that much. I am attracted to HIM. It's everything about him. This chemistry, his humor, his vivid personality. He can easily be sweet too, caring, protecting. He is a stong man. He is a star. And such combination is hard to find actually. So when someone says it's only about bad boys, they either don't understand it or don't pay attention because they don't want to.
@@Junejane4 congratulations on your preference in men! I'm sure there are many women out there that agree with you! (And maybe some that have different tastes) I wish you good fortune in finding a man that satisfies your criteria, and that you fulfill theirs and make each other happy!
I think the problem for me was that I was so used to Angel. Riley is just so different to him and almost the opposite, but to be fair, Buffy DOES want a normal relationship so he is a great choice when it comes to that! He's very, very sweet!
@@julesreacts it's true, Riley can't possibly compete with angel. Angel has the tragic backstory, centuries of life experience and worldly knowledge, tall dark and handsome looks, and mysterious aire. Riley is a 20 something country raised army brat that is, in a lot of ways, figuring things out in his life just like buffy. But Riley is upfront, brave, honest, and would do everything possible to make buffy happy. I agree that angel is buffys number 1, but I also feel Riley doesn't get near the credit he deserves either. Looking forward to seeing if you warm up to him more in the future! 😄
@@julesreacts his character was deliberately created to be different from Angel. In everything. Even his looks. Because at that point Whedon was against the idea that Buffy should be with a vampire. Other authors convinced him to write Buffy - Angel love story but in general he wanted an opposite. And Riley was supposed to be the definition of what he wanted. Just a normal guy, not a vampire. And he also hunts supernatural. But I can't understand his normal guy fixation for Buffy. She is a supernatural character herself. She has demon power inside her. She is not just some girl next door who needs a guy next door type. Whedon created a character and forgot what he actually created. The fact that she kills vampires and demons doesn't make her a 'regular, normal' girl. But they wanted to create a normal guy and the opposite of Angel so much that they forgot to add an actual distinct enough personality. His main idea is 'just be a good guy, not a vampire' . And this is a cliche actually. More than anything.
As was pointed out by Passion of the Nerd (great series of videos to watch once you've finished, btw), the key word in Willow's spell was "passion". All her successful spells in this episode are born of frustration, anger, overt emotional responses. Nothing she thinks through logically works, because there's no passion behind the words.
She would also begin each command with “it is my will“. I don’t think that was actually required for the spell, I think she just needed to say her will flat out without the opening phrase for the spell to work.
Re: Your surprise that Willow hadn't said she wished for Oz to come back. While Willow is not doing well with it, she is past that point at least. She has accepted (in an acknowledged way not emotional way) that that's done, and is moving on to the healing/moving on phase. She's having a rough time with it (which is accurate) and wants to speed it up, but she has passed the even considering getting him back right now. Her original intent of casting the spell wasn't even to get him back but to heal her heart. So it makes sense that she wouldn't wish him back even off handedly.
Spike "its telly time...Passions is on...Timmy's down the bloody Well" 😅 I don't like Soap Operas but if a violent soulless creature like Spike is into it then it must be something wonderful. A nice way of showing that even he has a soft side to him. Merry Christmas and have a happy new year 🎄🥳
I always loved how when Willow says no, the demon is like," oh well, if you change your mind give me a chant." and basically gives her his card. the person I feel bad for in this episode is Amy, a normal girl for two seconds, and poof!. you've definately laid out some interesting theories, I can't wait for your next reaction!
Oh. My. God. Something Blue! you are in for a treat. Joss new how to give you some levity after something really heavy. And I Will Remember You was really heavy. Need some lighthearted fun to cleanse the palate and make room for what is to come. Though still plenty of dark pain in this episode, masked by the levity.
It’s interesting that Oz was probably all those things you say Riley is except that he wasn’t bland somehow It seemed that the spell going “kablooey” meant that it worked for everything except what she truly wanted it to originally We’ve seen that before with magic with Xander where the spell didn’t work on the one woman he wanted it to
one the funniest of the show, this show in every seasons has great moments and writting that's why it is so iconic and an unforgettable show. I noticed too every seasons has special scores, by Beck and others, change in every seasons like a theme for each one.
Good Morning, Jules!💜 Going by the thumbnail, it wouldn't appear that any tissues will be needed this day. But it's the Buffyverse, so maybe, possibly, no... probably.😉 Well, another madcap episode in Sunnydale! ...something borrowed, something blue. They have no trouble binding characters away in this series, so I am somewhat surprised that no steps have been taken, with regard to Willow. She seems a bit more of a threat than an aid. I know you shared her hope that Oz would be back, but it appears here that both of your hopes have been extinguished, but never say never, I guess. I agree with you about Riley. Something does seem to be missing, but something he has plenty of is awkwardness. I have to be honest here, and say I was surprised it took you a couple beats to pick up on what Willow did to Giles. Teen romance seems to be mostly doomed to begin with. bad guys and gals may be fun, but usually lead to nothing good, and timidity keeps things bland when both are usually wishing for something exciting to happen. Maybe Willow will learn a bit of something about the direction her magic has been going, and correct her course, but I'm not sure it will be a quick solution. Riley is an odd character, in that he seems to have a lot of free time, for a top ranking member of a para-military squad of demon zappers - I would think he would be way busier in Sunnydale. It was amusing that with all the talent in the room, Xander is the one who figures it all out. It actually made Spike's earlier "This is the crack team that foils my every plan?", even funnier.😂 I had a thought whilst watching this one. It's odd that LA seems to be quite crowded with benign demons, yet Sunnydale they are almost always evil. That's just me though. Most likely some fact of behind the scenes lore I have not read up on. A very humorous episode - Giles had the lion's share of great lines. And Amy had the very best scene.🤣 Thank you, once again, Jules,💜🥰 for showing me the other side of the Buffy Angel experience. Always great.😊 Have a beautiful Christmas break, leave postings and commenting behind for a few days, and just enjoy your time. Thank you. See you on the far side of your holiday!🤗💜
The ducklings are very cross with Willow for abusing her duck powers. That alpacas are wondering if.they can crimp their.fur. Everything else is spoilers, it was.nice.to.see.Amy.againq. Happy Christmas.
Cat 💜 Thank you so much for everything over this last year. I am so lucky to have you here, cheering me up and putting a smile on my face with your beautiful words. I wish you a wonderful Christmas for you and your loved ones, and I hope you got the ducklings and alpacas something special 🥰🎄 (maybe even a crimper!!)
I'd honestly forgotten about this episode until now, which is such a shame because it's so much fun! These are the types of episodes that Buffy does best, these fun stories where magic goes haywire and hijinks ensue. The Spike/Buffy storyline is hilarious, but it's also the episode that launched a thousand ships. As in, you wouldn't believe how many people actually 'ship' Spike and Buffy. Speaking of Spike, don't you just love how he's slowly becoming one of the Scoobs? Well, sort of, in a prisoner of war kind of way. One of my favourite jokes in the entire show is when poor Amy gets briefly returned to human form, only to become a rat again, without anyone noticing. 🤣 I love that they got the actress who plays her back, only for her to crouch on a bed naked for half a second, and then that's a wrap. What an odd day of work that must have been. I'm glad you enjoyed this one Jules, it's so much fun! The next episode is an absolute classic and a masterpiece of storytelling, so I can't wait to see what you think of it. Merry Christmas once again to you and yours, Jules.
Riley does come across as a little generic. Such a funny episode. Love Giles' kiss the librarian mug. And Spike calling them out on how someone actually feels, Willow. Are you blind, she's hanging on by a thread, any ninny can see that.
I love that you are looking great, ready with tissue, and watching this great episode. But I am really really really looking forward to the next Buffy episode 4.10.
@@julesreacts I would have thought you were going through the tissues faster but then I realized you only watch 2 episodes of the Buffy verse a week so that seems right. I usually watch more each week so I go through tissues quicker even on my 5th rewatch. Lol
“Aw, bloody hell!” At least we got a semi-break from the depression express we’ve been on, hmm? Truth is, you make a good point about the obvious plot hole - why didn’t Willow just get Oz back? - except the episode isn’t really about that, it’s about having fun while reminding us Willow is leveling up in her power game. Oh, and yeah, Spike and Giles are apparently roomies now. Rule Britannia.
Another fun season four episode. Some darkness this season but also lots of fun. Riley Finn , good man. I see you are not willing to commit to Riley. You have been hurt too many times already. I blame Parker. And Scott. and Angel. And who was that danger loving boy friend. Owen the poet. Oh and her old friend from LA high school who betrayed her. Ford. She really hasn't been that lucky at love. This has a Xander getting a love spell cast on him vibe with the circle of flaring candles on the ground at midnight. cmon willow. Her will be done.. Continuity of the mythos is one of the better things in the show. Spike has a core of sweetness, that is hilarious. I like that Xander was "on" the usher list. They are ruining my special day. Spike isn't helping because he has been neutered. Fortune Favours the bold. Love the make-up, hair commentary. Very few other locations I could get that.
Buffy and Spike's story in this episode being done before _I Will Remember You_ would not have played well with fans. It's already bad enough Buffy doesn't remember she got closure in that episode, but now she has no closure and Willow put her under a love spell with Spike and thinks cookies are a good apology.
this is such a good one. its so funny. buffy and spike are hilarious as a couple. riley is really a nice guy. and i like tehofran (sp?) he is respectful and not mean, he just offers and accepts no. there are worse demons, and worse bosses.
Time for more of Buffy and i can't wait to see what Spike will do now that he is back on the show have a beautiful Merry Christmas and Thank You very much my friend Juliette.🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 💖🎄☃️🎀☃️🎄💖
"Something Blue" is probably in my top 5 (I refuse to pick my top 3, let alone my favorite ep.). Too fun! The only downside to it is Willow's constant moping. It's been going on for too long for my taste. Plus, her turning to magic to solve her problems again... It's so frustrating how she never learns. I get what you're saying about Riley. It's not even an unpopular opinion that he's bland, especially compared to Buffy's other boyfriends. Maybe other than Scott Hope (did you forget about him already? 🤣). Buffy does need that fire, the danger, the pain... Riley doesn't seem like the kind of person who can offer her that level of passion... or the older age that's in her type. The Initiative is the only thing that makes Riley seem somewhat interesting so far. And the fact that he's a lesbian who likes brown apples. Speaking of interesting boyfriends (or, should I say, fiancés lol)... Spike! You know, back when S4 started I still considered myself a Bangel shipper, even though I was pretty much over Buffy and Angel in S3. I was ready to move on while still hanging on to Bangel. But then they give us RILEY as a replacement?! I wanted to be as excited and entertained as I was in S2! Then "Something Blue" came on and I was like "YES!! THIS IS WHAT I WANT! SPIKE AND BUFFY! GIMME!" Their chemistry is just off the charts (way more than Buffy and Angel, IMO), whether they're mortal enemies or smooching on Giles's couch 😁. And did you notice that when Willow broke the spell Spike waited to see Buffy's reaction before jumping up and spitting her taste out of his mouth? Final thoughts. *I* want a Spike living in MY tub and feed it cookies!
You and I share VERY similar thoughts!! I love this!! I actually DID forget about Scott Hope (what was his episode? Faith, Hope & Trick?). See, back then, he actually seemed decent. Now, I know better 🤣 I feel bad about Riley. I'm sure he's nice. He's stable. But yeah, there's just something MISSING. I'd be interested to know, once he is inevitably out of the picture, if they made him lack that certain something on purpose, or did they write him with every intention of being the good guy that is going to be the best thing for Buffy? Maybe it just didn't hit the way it was designed to. I feel exactly the same as you with Bangel! I ADORED THEM SO. But it was just SO much drama that it got too much. I was sadly over it, and I am glad Angel is gone 😭 if they could be together PROPERLY with no on/off nonsense and them both coming to terms that it is just for Buffy's lifetime, then FINE. Bring it! But it just didn't happen, sadly. OOH, now I'm going to re-watch that part of the kiss at the end! Okay, thoughts after seeing it again... I don't know if we are clutching at straws here, but I think I can see it 🤣 He only really started to look disgusted when Buffy did. SPIKE! We are onto you!!
@@julesreacts That was Scott's first episode, but he's been on a few more. See???? He's so forgettable! I think the goal behind Riley was simply to give Buffy a normal relationship in contract. Not sure if the rest is done on purpose, but I'm pretty sure Joss wanted him to be that (more or less) normal boyfriend. He also originally wanted a love triangle with Angel and Xander but nobody really shipped Buffy and Xander... It does make you wonder, because apparently Joss has based Xander on himself. He'd probably want Buffy to pick... well, himself. As in, the "nice guy." Unfortunately that doesn't land with viewers. But will it land with Buffy, who's NOT normal? Will she find herself excited over this normal boyfriend? Will Joss come around and maybe give another "bad boy" a chance? We shall see!
Someone forgot rule number 2 in the Buffyverse. Rule number one is never make a wish, Joss might grant it. Rule number 2.......(can't give the reminder. Not going to spoil anything) 😉
Even though S4 wasn't one of my favourites overall, it did contain some brilliant stand out episodes of which Something Blue was one. The comedy here is achingly funny, and this episode contains so much foreshadowing for later episodes, you can see in S4 Willow becoming more reliant of magic each time she has a crisis, and that the potential Spuffy relationship is hinted at, but in a comedic way. Hilariously funny when Giles and Buffy use the words impotent and flaccid referring to Spike in the bath. Interesting too that Spike is so much more perceptive of Willow's pain over Oz. Overall a great episode to look back on.
Happy Christmas! Did you recognise the voice of d'hoffryn? Its the same actor who played Ronald, the doctor whose body parts came off in episode 4 of Angel
So much I want to say, so much I can't. So mostly comment for the algorithm. The humanising of the demons has been continuing, rather subtly since Anya came into the series.
And the best couple of this show was born. 😁🔥🔥 Buffy was the happiest girl but based on this picture they wanted people to conclude that this idea is really bad and just shouldn't exist. That's the intentional message of this episode. Who would have thought. They couldn't even fight properly. Always ending up making out. They basically showed how it would look like if they didn't trash their story deliberately. And people liked it. Even the ones who didn't even think about it before.
One thing I never understood about this one. Xander-Demon magnet Giles-you don’t see anything. Buffy-why don’t you just marry him. Spike-wait, there was no “marriage” spell put on Spike.
I thought it enveloped both of them in the same spell as otherwise Buff wouldn't be able to marry him if he said no! But it would be AMAZING if Spike wasn't under any spell at all 🤣
Hi Jules! I know everybody raves about Spike and Buffy, but as someone caring more about side characters than her, the most hilarious for me was the part with Amy. Have a wonderful weekend, I hope you upload (or have timed upload) for Monday and have a wonderful Christmas Eve.
Not sure I agree with the "Buffy always dates bad boys" thing. Angel? Pure good and heroic until the unfortunate curse takes effect. Parker wasn't anything but polite and decent until Buffy told him she thought it was more than he did. I thought his explanation to Willow was pretty real, and I don't know if I believe he was trying to manipulate her. I think his comment about the toilet seat was added because people hated him so much and they needed a good reason, plus it makes Riley look good for punching him out. Then there was Scott, who just got tired of Buffy bailing. Though that was a bit out of nowhere. Still, I don't know if any of them qualify as "bad boys". Maybe that's just me being a dude?
It's so funny that Jules does not like Riley! Nobody likes Riley. Even back when it aired, the fans hated him immediately. They just made a mistake with this character. But they rectified it quickly. It just shows that the writers are human.
Should be obvious but _no one_ knows what _every_ fan thinks about _anything_ (so "Nobody liked X" or "Everyone loved Y" claims are *always* unfounded). (or in other words, back when it aired I thought Riley was fine. Still do. Nothing spectacular but also nothing terrible, let alone hateworthy. So, y'know, claim disproven :)
Buffy asking Giles to give her away is a Top 10 Heartwarming Buffy moment wrapped up in a Top 10 Funniest Buffy moment.
Gets me in the feels every time!! And his adorable reaction before reality crashes back in 🤣
It was so beautiful 🥰🥰
yes, considering Buffy has a real biological dad, to ask Giles proves she sees him more as a father than the real one

Even if seeing them in love seems really wrong, you can't help but smile imagining them as a happy couple, or look forward to the moment when the spell would be broken and they would understand what had happened, XD
Is Spike perhaps getting into that situation where the villain is forced to team up with the heroes and over time ends up liking them, and they for him?
PS
Yeah, Buffy in this season is incredibly beauty
Great thoughts!! Thank you for sharing 😊😊

One of my absolute favorite eps of Buffy. So funny, and high rewatchability. Can’t wait to see you enjoy it!
Btw, the actor who played D’Hoffryn also played the doctor on the Angel episode “I fall to pieces”
Ha! That's very cool!
Hush is up next then. That's one of the very best episodes of the series. An absolute masterpiece.
She said something like make the negative spells wash away. So was turning Amy back into a rat not seen as a negative?

A great thing through the series is how spike knows all the sensitive angles any main character or background extra is feeling before anyone does
He is very intuitive!
I don't think the, "Oh bloody hell," and,' "I still have Buffy taste in my mouth," will ever stop making me chuckle. have a good week!
I love those lines 🤣🤣 Have a lovely week yourself!
79 pages left in the book of Buffy and we don’t need a spell to fall in love with Juliette. She has welcomed all of us on her couch and we are blessed to be in her world.❤ Happy holidays to all the Jules Reacts family.
Thank you!! I am so happy to have you here. I wish you a magical and wonderful Christmas with your family and loved ones 💜

"Lips of Spike!"
6:10 "So how is this going to go wrong?"
Entertainingly
8:26 I always wondered how they convinced the actress that plays Amy to guest star in the episode for 4 seconds and not even get a single word of dialog.
I love it when you predict the future without realizing it
Also, 0:13 Keep it handy. I'm so, so sorry.
Poor Amy 🤣🤣 it was so amazing to see her again but you're right... I can imagine her manager trying to talk her into that job 😅
It's a big ask. "We want you for four seconds. And you'll be naked. "
:grins: On the tissue comment ... I would say "Oi! Spoilers!" but that doesn't really apply in Buffy :)
Money! Quickest and easiest money for 10 mins of work 😂
Plus Amy had to be naked! That must have been a fun chat with the casting agent.
'Riley is sweet, attentive, patient, loving...'
You are so right, definitely not relationship material, gotta stick with the heart breaking bad boys. 😂
Thanks for the episode, hope you have a great christmas!
(And maybe some that have different tastes)
I wish you good fortune in finding a man that satisfies your criteria, and that you fulfill theirs and make each other happy!
21:00 Yes. Not just this episode. She always looks good but Season 4 Buffy was esp gorgeous.
Her hair and makeup have been just stunning 🥰
Willow's shirt, "Speak no evil!"
the Spike cookie scene is one of my favorites of the whole show. Great episode! I like this feeling of hanging out with the scoobie gang!
Love Willow's "Speak No Evil" shirt while she's guilt baking.
Great reaction, as always! See you for Angel!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Hey Becca 💜👋 thank you! I'm so glad you liked this episode. It's gotta be one of my favourites!

@@julesreacts its a sickness many of us have
@@snarkysquirrel lol that would never happen, Buffy would sooner die than get together with Spike
This is By far one of The Most Hilarious Episode's Hands Down all the teasing flirting and Giles XD
Poor Amy. She gets a few seconds being a naked human, then right back to being a rat
Spike "its telly time...Passions is on...Timmy's down the bloody Well" 😅
I don't like Soap Operas but if a violent soulless creature like Spike is into it then it must be something wonderful. A nice way of showing that even he has a soft side to him.
Merry Christmas and have a happy new year 🎄🥳
Gosh, I love that part 🤣
Merry Christmas to you as well! Have a great time with your loved ones 🎄
Let the countdown to "Hush" begin
I always loved how when Willow says no, the demon is like," oh well, if you change your mind give me a chant." and basically gives her his card. the person I feel bad for in this episode is Amy, a normal girl for two seconds, and poof!. you've definately laid out some interesting theories, I can't wait for your next reaction!
Spike is good at seeing the emotion people hire beneath a brave front
Perhaps a thing that could've added to the funny was if Xander's 'demon magnet' made female demons go after him.
This is one of my favorite episodes! In the Top 10 for sure. It is THE funniest episode of the entire series. I love watching reactions to it! Thanks!
poor willow!poor giles!!hello amy...goodbye amy! 😂
Oh. My. God. Something Blue! you are in for a treat. Joss new how to give you some levity after something really heavy. And I Will Remember You was really heavy. Need some lighthearted fun to cleanse the palate and make room for what is to come. Though still plenty of dark pain in this episode, masked by the levity.
It’s interesting that Oz was probably all those things you say Riley is except that he wasn’t bland somehow
It seemed that the spell going “kablooey” meant that it worked for everything except what she truly wanted it to originally
We’ve seen that before with magic with Xander where the spell didn’t work on the one woman he wanted it to
Ooh, red paint. We could smear a little on his mouth, blood of the innocent... That's my girl.
Another fun episode and great reaction from you! Poor Amy; she was human and then back to a rat.😂
Amy was back for just a few seconds 🥹😭
one the funniest of the show, this show in every seasons has great moments and writting that's why it is so iconic and an unforgettable show. I noticed too every seasons has special scores, by Beck and others, change in every seasons like a theme for each one.
Good Morning, Jules!💜 Going by the thumbnail, it wouldn't appear that any tissues will be needed this day. But it's the Buffyverse, so maybe, possibly, no... probably.😉
Well, another madcap episode in Sunnydale! ...something borrowed, something blue.
It actually made Spike's earlier "This is the crack team that foils my every plan?", even funnier.😂
I had a thought whilst watching this one. It's odd that LA seems to be quite crowded with benign demons, yet Sunnydale they are almost always evil.
That's just me though. Most likely some fact of behind the scenes lore I have not read up on.
A very humorous episode - Giles had the lion's share of great lines. And Amy had the very best scene.🤣
Thank you, once again, Jules,💜🥰 for showing me the other side of the Buffy Angel experience. Always great.😊

You know it's the goats fault. I was watching your Firefly.videos while working on the fence and they gathered around to watch.
Another hilarious episode! 😆😆

"Bland" is exactly the word to describe Riley... Unfortunately.
Poor Riley 🤣
Long day at work and what do I see, my favorite reactor going through one of my favorite episodes from the season. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Riley does come across as a little generic. Such a funny episode. Love Giles' kiss the librarian mug. And Spike calling them out on how someone actually feels, Willow. Are you blind, she's hanging on by a thread, any ninny can see that.
0:13 with this episode, it's tears from laughing too hard.

@@julesreacts I would have thought you were going through the tissues faster but then I realized you only watch 2 episodes of the Buffy verse a week so that seems right. I usually watch more each week so I go through tissues quicker even on my 5th rewatch. Lol
The BuffyVerse gets Stranger and Stranger...=))
In this episode, we see parallels with s2e1 When She Was Bad, Willow is acting in a way similar to Buffy, trying to push her friends away.
Well, this episode was sure good for a laugh. What made it fun was waiting to see what Willow would say, and watching it affect the others.

“Aw, bloody hell!”
At least we got a semi-break from the depression express we’ve been on, hmm? Truth is, you make a good point about the obvious plot hole - why didn’t Willow just get Oz back? - except the episode isn’t really about that, it’s about having fun while reminding us Willow is leveling up in her power game.
Oh, and yeah, Spike and Giles are apparently roomies now. Rule Britannia.
A wonderfully funny episode. Have a great holiday!
I can’t wait for the reaction to next episode. 🤫💀
Wow what a fun happy episode of Buffy!!… meanwhile in Angel-
Happy!! Then sad... talk about a roller coaster!!

:grins: And you preempt my comment on how great Buffy's hair looked in this one
Spike can't attack Giles. He still has that implant in his head, remember?
Yep but I'd still not trust him fully HAHA
We shall see!
this episode is so funny ,love it so much .love the reaction :)
Merry christmas in advance ,hope you have a good one:)
6:12 or how is this going to go very very right lol
Spuffy shipper from the start🙋🏻♀️
HAHA yes I think I was 🤣
I haven’t watched yet but this is a favorite! Merry Christmas jules!

Happy Christmas!
Did you recognise the voice of d'hoffryn? Its the same actor who played Ronald, the doctor whose body parts came off in episode 4 of Angel
Omg! I didn't! Thank you for letting me know!
So much I want to say, so much I can't. So mostly comment for the algorithm. The humanising of the demons has been continuing, rather subtly since Anya came into the series.
Yes, it's been great to see!
Sarah spent half of this episode sitting on James's lap, lol. That was her role in this episode.

One thing I never understood about this one.
Xander-Demon magnet
Giles-you don’t see anything.

Don't worry, this week your tissues are only for tears of laughter!
GOOD! It makes a nice change haha
The way I see it, Riley, is that cars are intended to get people places faster. Driving for the sake of driving is a waste of gas and money.
Awww I know what you mean! I do love to go for drives through the countryside, but I then feel as if I am wasting petrol and money!
23:19 👀👀
This actually makes a lot of sense, as he has indeed gotten better and I like him a lot more now with where I am up to 🤣
Should be obvious but _no one_ knows what _every_ fan thinks about _anything_ (so "Nobody liked X" or "Everyone loved Y" claims are *always* unfounded).
(or in other words, back when it aired I thought Riley was fine. Still do. Nothing spectacular but also nothing terrible, let alone hateworthy. So, y'know, claim disproven :)
