I was sent here by OverKill Simulations and I just followed your 3 videos about NVIDIA and MSFS2020 graphics settings and I cannot believe how much of a improvement this has made. I got a 20 to 30 FPS increase!!! This is amazing.
Hey there Jonathan im.so happy you tried this and even more happy that you experienced a great gain in performance . 😀 thanks for posting this happy flying
Overkill is who pointed me here as well! I just went thru it all a 2nd time because I missed a couple steps in ticking certain checkbooks my 1st time thru so went thru it again this time watching the entire thing on my phone as I went. Crossing fingers I'll have as great of results as you did! Happy flying!!
All I can say is wow: I do have an old pc. i5 6600k with a GTX 980ti. After your tips and tricks from all your videos I get stable and very smooth on ultra other that the level of terrain details at 140 I'm getting a complex airports with the PMDG 737 40fps very stable and no stuttering. All I can say is WOW!!!!
Hey Charles thanks so much for the donation ❤️ im very happy they help you . 😊 if you need anything please let me know . Updates are a beaver lol what you also may want to do is take screenshots of your settings with the snip tool and put them in a file or USB drive this way you will have a picture diary of everything in case of a issue or update. Thanks again buddy 👍
I’ve been chasing a problem with low fps around airports for over a year and after watching your video it completely fixed it! So much more enjoyable, thanks so much!
The results are AWESOME! I had my sim limited at 30FPS using vertical sync, and I THOUGHT it was running nice. I had learned to live with the micro stutters. After doing this, the smoothness of the sim is INCREDIBLE. I really cannot thank you enough, my GTX 1080 is performing amazingly! Subscriber for life!
i had really bad 30 fps with a lot of stuttering and now its so amazingly smooth at 35+.. i cant believe what your hints have done. Big thumbs up!!!!! Thank You!
Excellent. I'm running GTX1080 with R7 1700x and I got easily a 50% improvement. I even notched up terrain level of detail to 300% 1080p -From avg 25fps to 40fps over Orbx UK North + terrain on ULTRA - low shadows. You got yerself a new sub.
Hey thanks so much for the comment and sub . 😊 I'm happy this helped you . Keep a look out I am in editing of my next performance settings video and this will help a lot hope you enjoy it.
This is a GREAT video! ONE thing I wanted to mention that I just found out is to REMOVE MODS from COMMUNITY folder! I had the P38 and Working Title CJ4 mod, removed them, now after your settings I’m getting 70 fps with 2060 super.
Problem solved. I have received my new RTX 3070Ti today and wow oh wow. I am now hitting steady 50s to 60s fps on 2k res ultra settings all in sim combined with i7 10700k cpu and 32gb ram. So bye bye RTX 2060, it was right time to upgrade and honestly i am super happy. My new card is such a big improvement. Thanks again for your video and previous support. Happy flyer now
MATE THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! MY sim is so much smooth now, saw a massive difference. Thanks for sharing your tips and Nvidia control panel settings love the content
You are absolutely Genius, what can i say you ended my misery, ive been chasing this since December last year, now i can say im playing FSMS. 2020 on VR. 🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊😊 Im going to paste this on the othere videos I've watched Im Running your specs on GPU 3070 /Hp Reverbe 2 first version and i am so satisfied!... You are the man Aye, Aye, Captain 😀😀😀
Overkill is right! Great content as always. Each of your videos are so well thought out, explained so the average ( Less Tech savvy ) user can follow along step by step. Between your two videos I went from 11 FPS in the FBW A320 at KJKF to 22 FPS. I know 22 is not great but it is flyable until I can upgrade my RTX2080Ti . Now my Graphics settings are the same as yours with but a few exceptions. Most places outside of KJFK I was getting a steady flyable 20 FPS - Now its's like a solid 40 FPS. Thanks Dude! You Rock,!
I would be updating your CPU, before you dismiss that 2080ti. My second pc is an ITX z690 12900k 32BG 5200 DDR5 with a 2080t!i Almost never below 30 fps in any scenario, in 4K ultra settings, and 50-60 fps all day long in the sky. If you were at 11 fps, you are limited by your current CPU is my best guess. I had that card in a Z490 platform with a 9900K and I still never dropped below 23 fps at ultra 4k. Don't upgrade your card- you will see no difference until you upgrade your CPU / mobo.
@@vyper883 My Current GPU is an EVGA KINGPIN Hybrid with the LN2 BIOS upgrade so I have no plans to get rid of it. I do want a RTX4000 GPU when they're released so I will skip the RTX3000 series unless I see a Huge Delta in pricing between the two series. If I go the CPU route I will build a new package ( even if I use the KP GPU in it until the 4000 comes out) and then use the 9900 system as a second PC for my rig. (3 55" 4K 60hz Displays suck up a lot of HP. Thoughts on on MB and Ram are welcomed. Thanks
This is, without a doubt, THE best setup video for MSFS. I loved the fact you explained why you were doing things. I have a very high-end PC and the Varjo Aero for VR. After following your guide, MSFS had never been better! Thank you 🙏. Needless to say, I have subscribed!
@@2020fsers I also went through your driver install video. Once again…. Fantastic! I have very high settings and use the foveated rendering in OpenXR Toolkit. I now get super smooth performance with only the odd micro-stutter. I think that the last few stutters are down to Asobo rather than my system now. Thanks again. I am so glad I came across your channel!!!!
Was recommended to this video by Dave at Hype Performance - really glad he did. Super clear instructions, really easy to follow. Got another 20 frames by losing at three NVidia processes from Task Manager.Subscribed and rang the bell. Gotta keep chasing them frames!! Oh, I also turned VSync off, and I get a consistent 40 fps on my main monitor with three Helionix screens popped out into individual windows on my second monitor - no more 50% frame rate hit with each additional pop out window.
oh snap i didnt even try the pop out frames that will hel;p so many users thanks now i will have to test that . thanks for the comment glad it worked for you
Couple of great videos, thanks so much. Smooth as silk now with increased fps. Couldn't believe there was 11 different folders for Nvidia sitting in the Task Manager...... now only 2. Thanks again!
Thank you for your last 2 videos! As VR is much more demanding for any system, your tipps with installing the invidia driver without these performance eating additionals and also the adjustments after the latest simupdate, nvidia graphics settings, config settings and VR graphic settings in the sim itself made such an extrem difference. Right now it is so smooth and clear with almost no stutters or lags and, in my system, even with the h125 and 89% resolution of the reverb g2 with the latest open xr toolkit. Thanks again and please keep on making such good videos with your excellent way of step by step explanations.
Ha! I'm so glad you mentioned that you will always be limited by something, and not worry about it if the frames and stability is good. Too many will say something is wrong because they are either CPU or GPU bound. Yay you!
hey thanks for the comment . i have gotten emails already from people getting 50 fps sayin im limited how can i make it go away and you can't. lol just be the best you can be thanks again
Great video! Really smoother out my sim, less stutters, more fluidity, and the color is better (less saturated). Pixelation in clouds seems gone as well. Great stuff thanks!
Nice overview w/o requiring viewers to be CPU/GPU wonks. There is a lot of nuance to all of these settings - yet you kept it very understandable and PRACTICAL. Thank you.
Perhaps one of the greatest videos on UA-cam and so well explained. I don't agree with your outline on triple buffering though. With the option disabled (and Vsync enabled), the game must wait until the next vertical retrace before it can start rendering the next frame. Vertical retraces occur at the vertical refresh rate, typically in the 60-100 Hz range. Turning off Vsync eliminates this delay and provides the highest frame rate but can cause tearing. With triple buffering enabled, the game renders a frame in one back buffer. While it is waiting to flip, it can start rendering in the other back buffer. The result is that the frame rate is typically higher than double buffering with vsync enabled without any tearing. What this means in practice is that if you get screen tearing, turning on Triple Buffering might actually eliminate the tearing without having to turn on vsync thus bumping frame rate in the process. If you still get tearing with triple buffering, then you might have to go the vsync method by disabling Triple Buffering and just enabling Vsync. What you don't want to do is enable Triple Buffering and Vsync at the same time as it will hamper the frame rate as each frame draw call is going to occur at the vertical retrace. Hope this helps :)
aight, gonna try the triple buffer on with vsync off now and see what happens, will update update: hella screen tearing, don't use triple buffering at all
Since last OpenXr, toolkit and sim update my vr was unflyable. Thanks to your settings everything looks smooth again. I don't know why but once again your settings made my day. I just need to better set up my controls and go flying. Thank you!!🙂🙂🙂
Oh really awsome I did not know that so I would make the 1st time stamp 00:00 and then the following times 😀 thanks overkill love your channel. Thanks for the comment 😀
I done this and then found your Nvidia bloat tutorial. Made everything so much smoother. Only a small critique but can you add in the description above to do the Nvidia Bloat tutorial first so they don't have to change the Nvidia settings twice.
@@reggiefowler2700 Reggie, In steam I go to c drive, username, appdata (normally this is a hidden file, if you don't see it look for the option to display hidden files in your file explorer and check that) then scroll down to msfs flight simulator you'll see any flight plans but look for your usercfg.opt file, I recommend making a copy of that file to store/save in a safe place before editing the file but it's easy peasy. Good luck!
If you try the second video you can most likely pick up a significant increase by debloating your nvidia driver especially on that card. But yes 😆 I did spend all day over 12 hours shooting and editing so that I can get them uploaded together. Thanks for the comment . 😀 and thanks for noticing the time involved in these vids.
8:43 Not that I suffer from screen tearing, but I'll ask all the same. I have a G-Sync monitor, I take it if you have such a monitor you would have V-Sync off in both applications, and let the monitor control the everything? Just make sure G-Sync is on in the nVidia control panel. great video bro. A font of knowledge.
Great information, thank you. My initial feedback: I followed everything as indicated. When I launched FS2020, with my previous settings, I had dropped about 5fps. Using Terrain LOD=10 (previously 200), Shadow Maps=1536, Contact Shadows=512, and Cubemap reflections=192, I gained 10 fps (everything else as suggested). I have yet to fly these settings but they looked good sitting at the gate. Thanks again for all the effort!!!
hey thanks for the comment if you did happen to turn on raytracing switch that off and see if you get an increase in fps some uses have stated it gave them a hit and others not.
@@2020fsers You are correct. I didn't have success with raytracing in the past. So, raytracing=OFF, Terrain LOD=100, and the other settings I mentioned now as you suggested. FPS pushing 40 sitting at the gate (FBW A20N). I think this will work. Awesome, thank you!
As a follow up, flew KJFK to KCLT, FBW A20N, live traffic and weather with great results. FPS never went below 30 (45 fps in CRZ). All settings as suggested except raytracing OFF. - ASrock B450M Pro, Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB, GTX1660, 1920x1080.
Thanks 😊 glad you enjoyed it. I actually Just finished filming an updated video to my SIM. Update 11 video I did that should be coming out the end of this week.
I often see people recommending turning supersampling down or off... However, I notice textures in the distance become blurry when this setting is turned off--for example centerlines on a runway. The higher the number you set here, the further in the distance the texture will remain sharp. If you're taxing around in a go-cart you might not notice, but get a few feet above the ground or use an elevated exterior view and you'll notice there's a difference. In any case always appreciate your tips in general and the effort you put into producing these videos--much more post production work than most other flight sim channels out there.
Thanks for the reminder, I followed the video but I lost my depth pf field like you, approach became a nightmare Everything was blurred, I could not make out the runway until about one mile from touchdown, don't panic I said. The taxiway lines etc where practical non existent. Yes it was because I turned off Texture Super Sampling, all back to normal now.
Incredible video thank you Just a question I have a RTX 3080 (not Ti) and in the video you reccomend to set Vsync Off in the symulator But in the video of the UserCfg there is Vsync to 1 It is reccomended to set it on or off? Another thing you reccomend HDR to off becouse the monitor is no HDR or it is better to set it off? Thanks in advance
Thanks for the comment so vsync I only set in the sim itself don't worry about the cfg file and I know these are settings for the sim . The quick answer to this is it all depends on your system and what is best for you I describe the 2 ways for either using it or not depending on your outcome with screen tearing . Try both methods and see what works for you. And for hdr I always leave that off .
You got the Background Application Max Frame Rate setting wrong. It doesn’t effect the framerate of background tasks, it effects the framerate of the simulator when *it* is the background task - for example if you bring a browser window to the front. The whole point of having individual profiles in the control panel is that the settings in that profile only effect one particular program and not other programs that are running at the same time
Thanks for your comment I am aware of that now with the background fps after I made the video thank you tho for the info. I understand the point behind individual profiles that's pretty self explanatory.
So I searched and I found this video, watched it, liked it then subscribed... a few days later, I opened up my nvidia control panel and followed the instructions in this video, ran msfs20 and made the necessary adjustments as mentioned in this video....only problem is that now I'm hoping I'm not going to destroy my graphics card because as I played msfs, I noticed that I was getting about 114 to 117 fps 🔥🔥🔥🔥😀 so I feel the need to ask this question,...am I safe to run it at this high fps? This is awesomely INSANE!!
Hey thanks for the comment yes it is ok to run that fps you can limit the fps either by using vsync in the sim set it to 60 and make sure the nvidia is set to app controlled. Or set max frame rate in the control panel to the refresh rate of your monitor
Same settings for DCS? And i7-7700K w/strix 3070TI and SSD and M2 - 2K monitor, thoughts on vertical sync in nvidia and msfs? DCS? Awesome video man thank you!!
Thanks for the comment .... not sure about dcs I have never tried it. . Vsync works for some people and not for others that is something that needs to be tested on an Individual basis.
Good job, Captain. Will be firing up my laptop Monday morning, along side my desktop to follow step by step. I doubt I'll ever fly VR. I'm running an Alienware, I7000,GTX1070. 16gig memory. 1T, Samsung SSD. Everything, Flight Sim, is on this drive. Within MSFS, I put settings for high end machine not ultra. Frames hanging around 30-35. Am always ready to try different stuff like what you are showing here. Keep the blue side up.
hey thanks Steve i would also try the other video i did on how to debloat your nvidia driver that will give you a big boost . let me know how things go for you thanks for the comment buddy !
@@2020fsers I watched the second video, first. I'm old, I do things backwards. You and Overkill are the 2 premiere streamers right now. I follow about 30 different streamers but you 2 gentlemen get checked out first. Have a good remainder of the weekend.
thank you so much for this helpful video. It was easy to follow. I have a question, now that I have done all this, what about using FSrealistic and Reshade. Will the use of these applications disturb any of these existing settings? thanks
Background max fps is for when the game is not in focus. Say if you minimize it or alt tab to a different window. It has nothing to do with any other apps.
Thanks for both the videos I’m running almost identical set up as you. I stopped at adjusting the control panel as I don’t really want to mess with game files lol. Only thing I noticed was super pixilated shadows under the aircraft while taxiing. I’ve got my game settings on Ultra. But I’m now not getting any tearing which is what I’m most happy with.
Great to hear thanks for posting. What may help you is to change the one texture filtering option off . The one I talk about that can cause shimmers. You can set that in global settings and not in specific program
@@2020fsers for sure! I’ll give that a shot. All in all, still happy to see the improvement. Got about a 50% uptick in frames and performance. R5 5600x and FTW3 3080ti.
If you're like me and want to keep shadow play. Just hit Alt+Z and turn off recording, go into settings and turn off all of the recording settings in there as well. I gained 15fps by doing this.
@@2020fsers Hi,just wondering if i can upload ur video in bilibili(kinda asia youtube), of course i'll tag the video source, just want more people see this great tutorial!
Absolutely 💯 you can anything to help the community . Thank you for asking . I hope the viewers that will watch it also get the results they are looking for.
@@2020fsers you’re welcome , thanks God I have found you , you are amazing , I have downloaded Open XR Toolkit and I have a better clarity in VR now , I did all the settings exactly like yours , I have an I9 9900X , 3,5Ghz , 64 Ram , 3070 ti , but there is only one small issue , I see 2 thin black lines flickering at the edges of my VR headsets , how can I get rid of them ? If I will manage to get rid of them , everything will be perfect. Thanks to you sir. ! One more time , thank you very much , I appreciate your work , I find it very valuable , keep up the good work , bless your heart. !
Thanks for your suggestions and for making this video. I would be careful forcing ray-tracing "on" on older GPU's (Gtx1060) these oldies are having a hard time keeping up with modern techniques. Have a great weekend ;-)
Thanks for the comment . As of right now I don't think raytracing is implemented in msfs but in previous updates it helped with graphics it may not do much now for graphics I just suggest to try it and see . Someone using laptop just told me he had a 4 fps hit on that setting so it's hit or miss but worth a try can always switch back. Thanks again happy flying
Thanks for the tips. As far as the in-game graphics settings go, I've just been using whatever it defaulted to. I noticed you have most things set to ultra. Wonder if I should do that, too? I think a lot of mine are on high now. I have an HP Omen Obelisk, 32 GB RAM and running an RTX2070.
Your welcome ... some of the settings in game are high gpu use and others cpu once you find a good balance using the fps tool it should flicker between gpu and cpu limited .
2 of the best videos i have seen for MSFS2020, and have subscribed :D But one question, in the Nvidia Control Panel i have selected the program settings for Microsoft Flight simulator, and set all the same settings, i set vSync to fast and use 3D application settings, and in MSFS2020 i have turned on vSync 60FPS, but my sim is reporting 155FPS in the menus. My monitor is a Acer Predator Z35 and it has G-Sync, can this be why it is still running above 60FPS?
ok so if you want to use the vsync in the sim you need to set the nvidia control panel to application controlled and then you will be set .. what ever you enter in the control panel will override any setting in msfs thats why you need to set it to app controlled but if you dont have any tearing with the panel set to fast i would leave it if you have tearing then set it to app controlled. Thanks for the comment and the sub really appreciate it.
Thanks so much for this video. Now that System Update 11 is out, are there any updates to the graphic settings that we should know about for even better performance? Thank you.
Not sure exactly but try both ways and see what works best for you and I could be that neither will work for you .it's something you need to play with and test let me know what you find out in your testing.
There was no cfg file in the path you showed for the steam version on my computer alteast. I had to go local disk c:, users, username, appdata, roaming, microsoft flight simulator. Awesome video btw
Thank you for the info .. im.not using the steam version so this is what I found online .. so thanks for this I'm sure it will help someone that can't find it.
Many thanks Pal, you're a diamond! I was myself really struggling with this. Your comment showed me the right path (pun intended!). The vid perhaps needs to be updated.
Thanks for the comment . Everyone should do what makes their system smoothest no one setting will apply to everyone. Thanks for posting your settings . May i ask what you limit your frames to? And do you sim in vr or monitor?
@@2020fsers Hi, I am in VR/G2. I limit to 27 fps. Got them always, everywhere. Absolutely constant. 3090 runs at about 75% average load but can handle all the load spikes without stuttering or lagging. Spikes go up to 90% in SD area but still up to 100 in hd/PG areas. Have experimented for myself a year or so, now I am fine (beside the ongoing ctd/ctr). Most important trick was to use normal power setting instead of max. performance. Sounds strange but thats it what give me smoothness. Now waiting for 4090 to see something about 40 smooth fps. And lets see what DLSS have to give.
@@2020fsers No, thats the funny part. If I use max. performance I got sequences like 38, 32, 27, 36, 24, 16, 21, 37 in the fps counter what feels stuttery and head aching. Locking the fps give me 27, 27, 27, 28, 27, 27, 27, 27 ........ That feels much smoother and comfortable to me.
wow this is amazing ! i did the entire process and i dont get stutters anymore and my frames are way higher than before im running a 11700K RTX 3070 and 32 gigs of ram and now i can say i get very close to 60 frames while im in big cities and in the air i get around 80 or 90 frames , i did install the game in a different drive so the config procces was not possible, i couldnt find the file . but amazing tutorial
You very welcome ... ok in the nvidia panel make sure that mfaa is off also fxaa is off. let me know what you have after you check and we can go deeper.
Went from 15fps stuttering mess on landings to 30 to 40fps with these specs using this: Ryzen 1700x | 1070ti | 32GB ram PS also lowered a few settings here and there to low. So I am rocking a low and medium mix
Hey thanks for the comment 😀 Overkill what a guy, right 😃. So I don't have a gsync monitor but I was told to keep vsync off when you have a gsycn monitor but I cannot confirm or deny let me know what works best for you.😉
For me I have v sync off If I understand g sync right the monitor and graphics card have dedicated hardware that talk to one another to stop screen tear
My user config file wasn't where you show for the Steam version. I don't know if something changed since you made this video, but I found it at C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10. A little heads up for anyone else not finding it.
@@2020fsers No worries. I might have to revert though. Noticed when loading that it's introduced alot a system instability and have been having more ctd's. Not sure if thats SU9 though!
Prob su9 lots of issues there . The only way to know is to go back to the full driver but I don't think it can be the debloating of the driver all we are doing is removing the things we don't need so it can't be that but that doesn't mean that the driver itself isnt the issue. Just like we always test new drivers in the past they suck and we have to revert back to the previous version, same can still apply here.
@@2020fsers Good point. It might be the 512.59 driver i'll try reverting to an earlier driver and see if that getsme more reliability. I also have found that the ammount of CTDs i have vary between sim updates. SU8 was relativly stable for me. Due to life being busy the only time i've ran SU9 was after i've done the improvements. . Hopefully we see some good stuff coming in SU10. Thank you for your help!
go in the msfs general settings and check the dev tool then at the top you should have some meus pop up go to option i think and go down to fps counter and check that on. Thanks for the comment
Really usefull video!!! But, what about "Game Mode" & "Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling" options from Windows? Should be leave ON or OFF according our actuals RTX 2000/3000 and I7 or I9 CPUs? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments.

Yes this should be good for you but please remember that I would keep track of what you do so if you get an undesired result you can revert back. . Thanks for the comment .
Thanks for the video, i read that almost all curved monitor must use V sync, whats your opinion about? i used to have it on because of that, im following your advices descripted in the video
Thanks for the comment .... so vsync for msfs in my opinion is based on processor I'll explain . When I had a rtx3060ti and an i7 I ran the vsync on fast in the the nvidia panel and that got me best performance with no tearing when I upgraded to a i9 that didn't work so well anymore I had lots of tearing in the screen all on a 32" curved monitor. So I had to turn on vsync In msfs and set it to 60fps even tho I can't get 60fps it removed all tearing and I had to put the nvidia panel on app controlled for vsync .. I also have other i9 users say the same .
@@2020fsers well im with an i5 11400f and rtx 3060, ill try it in FAST im the nvidia config window, and Vsync OFF in the simulator and see, thanks for all your help
@@2020fsers WIERD thing, i installed the nvidia drivers update as you said, and setted up the nvidia panel config as you did, im having the same or just a bit less fps. maybe its the update, i was having 43 fps over crowded citys now i have 38 in the same aircraft and city.
Always remember the nvidia driver updates don t always give the performance we expect just as they have been in the past 1 driver works better than the other .
Thanks again as I can add an additional 10 fps to my VR! The one thing I would like to have a sharper image outside of the cockpit - even with the sweetspot of the Reverb G2 that should be possible right?
If for some reason Microsoft Flight Simulator isn't listed in your 3d settings (2:30) you can click ADD and if you had recently run the program, it should be somewhere near the top of that list.
The difference between Ultra and High textures is not noticable at all. Don't see a reason to set it on Ultra. Also difference between 4x4 and 6x6 supersampling is barely noticable. And 8x8 is surely overkill. You can set it 4x4 for the high quality. Or 2x2 for better performance. Turning it off degrades quality of runway strips textures significantly. It should be very noticable in VR. Light shafts can cause performance slowdowns while in the clouds. I sugget to set Light shafts: Low. On the other side, contact shadows doesn't affect performance much. I think you can ramp up it to High without performance loss. Image quality differs.
I see a big difference between ultra and high texture resolution as far as how sharp and detailed the image is. There's also a big difference in how much v Ram it uses on your g. P. U But you have to do what works best on your system. Everybody has different software and hardware on your PC and that causes different performance issues.
@@2020fsers I wonder difference on which parts? Airport asphalt, runway itself, ground from above, or something elsewhere? Maybe I don't have enough VRAM to have an effect (8GB VRAM btw).

i had really bad 30 fps with a lot of stuttering and now its so amazingly smooth at 35+.. i cant believe what your hints have done. Big thumbs up!!!!! Thank You!
Your welcome I will be updating this for su10
Excellent. I'm running GTX1080 with R7 1700x and I got easily a 50% improvement. I even notched up terrain level of detail to 300%
1080p -From avg 25fps to 40fps over Orbx UK North + terrain on ULTRA - low shadows. You got yerself a new sub.
Hey thanks so much for the comment and sub . 😊 I'm happy this helped you . Keep a look out I am in editing of my next performance settings video and this will help a lot hope you enjoy it.
AHHH THIS HELPED MY PERFORMANCE SO MUCH!!! I was barely getting 40 fps on ULTRA with an i7 12700k and 3080ti and now I’m getting 55-60!
I'm glad it worked for you thanks for the comment 😀
This is a GREAT video! ONE thing I wanted to mention that I just found out is to REMOVE MODS from COMMUNITY folder! I had the P38 and Working Title CJ4 mod, removed them, now after your settings I’m getting 70 fps with 2060 super.
Thanks for the tip . And thank you for the comment 😀
ABSOLUTE GENIUS!! Got 15+ fps with Fenix A320 which was perfect! Couldn't follow all steps but wow massive difference.
Great glad it helped you . Thanks for the comment

Hey thanks so much for the kind words I'm so happy this worked for you. Thanks for the comment
You Rock,!
Thank you Mr Scott 🙏 happy this made your sim a little bit better of an experience 😀. Thanks for posting this . 👍
You are very welcome I'm glad you found me also happy flying
Hey thank you for the comment so happy this worked for you . Happy flying .
Hey thanks for the comment im so happy this worked for you.
Hey thanks for the comment glad this helped you 😀
Went from 10 Fps to 40-50 on a 2060 super! Thank you very much for helping!
(reply) Just saw 60 fps with ultra

Nice overview w/o requiring viewers to be CPU/GPU wonks.
There is a lot of nuance to all of these settings - yet you kept it very understandable and PRACTICAL. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment I appreciate it 🙏
Perhaps one of the greatest videos on UA-cam and so well explained.
Wow thanks for this info really appreciate it and well explained. Thanks you
aight, gonna try the triple buffer on with vsync off now and see what happens, will update
update: hella screen tearing, don't use triple buffering at all
Lol thanks
Since last OpenXr, toolkit and sim update my vr was unflyable. Thanks to your settings everything looks smooth again. I don't know why but once again your settings made my day. I just need to better set up my controls and go flying.

You spent a lot of time on your last two videos. Thanks for your time and input. I was limited in what I could do as I have an old 1060 chipset.

Your welcome
As a follow up, flew KJFK to KCLT, FBW A20N, live traffic and weather with great results. FPS never went below 30 (45 fps in CRZ). All settings as suggested except raytracing OFF. - ASrock B450M Pro, Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB, GTX1660, 1920x1080.

thanks so much, the meme you used It does "nothing" made me laugh 🤣
Texture super sampling may give different results of other system you have you do what's best for you as I can only see what my pc can display.
Thanks for the comments really appreciate it.
Incredible video thank you
Just a question
I have a RTX 3080 (not Ti) and in the video you reccomend to set Vsync Off in the symulator
But in the video of the UserCfg there is Vsync to 1
It is reccomended to set it on or off?
Another thing you reccomend HDR to off becouse the monitor is no HDR or it is better to set it off?
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the comment so vsync I only set in the sim itself don't worry about the cfg file and I know these are settings for the sim . The quick answer to this is it all depends on your system and what is best for you I describe the 2 ways for either using it or not depending on your outcome with screen tearing . Try both methods and see what works for you. And for hdr I always leave that off .
Another BOOMSHELL BROTHER!
Thanks so much 🙏
Great videos, I look forward to them all!
hey thanks for the comment lots more to come !!
Thanks for the sub and like 👍

Background max fps is for when the game is not in focus. Say if you minimize it or alt tab to a different window. It has nothing to do with any other apps.
Oh ok got ya thanks for clarifying that .

Using "maximum performance!" can cause ctd. Using normal AND limit fps limit gives the smoothest and most constant experience by far. 11900k/3090
Thanks for the comment . Everyone should do what makes their system smoothest no one setting will apply to everyone. Thanks for posting your settings . May i ask what you limit your frames to? And do you sim in vr or monitor?
@@2020fsers Hi,
I am in VR/G2.
Thanks for the reply. You don't find the 27fps is to low. When turning your head doesn't it jump frame to frame?
@@2020fsers No, thats the funny part. If I use max. performance I got sequences like 38, 32, 27, 36, 24, 16, 21, 37 in the fps counter what feels stuttery and head aching. Locking the fps give me 27, 27, 27, 28, 27, 27, 27, 27 ........ That feels much smoother and comfortable to me.
Hmm ok ima have to test it on my pc

Went from 15fps stuttering mess on landings to 30 to 40fps with these specs using this: Ryzen 1700x | 1070ti | 32GB ram PS also lowered a few settings here and there to low. So I am rocking a low and medium mix
Hey thanks for the comment glad it worked for you .
I was also sent here by overkill
1 quick question vertical sync what would you have it set to if your using a g-sync monitor
Great video by the way
Hey thanks for the comment 😀 Overkill what a guy, right 😃. So I don't have a gsync monitor but I was told to keep vsync off when you have a gsycn monitor but I cannot confirm or deny let me know what works best for you.😉
For me I have v sync off
If I understand g sync right the monitor and graphics card have dedicated hardware that talk to one another to stop screen tear
Thank you
Your welcome thanks for the comment
My user config file wasn't where you show for the Steam version. I don't know if something changed since you made this video, but I found it at C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10. A little heads up for anyone else not finding it.
Hey thanks for the info 👍
Ok I did this with the Nvidia performance hack and I was skeptical. but wow at Newark had a solid 45 on the ground and 45-55 over Manhatten. Nice one.
I'm running a Ryzen 5600 and RTX 3070 with 32 GB of ram btw.
Fantastic thanks for the comment and posting your system specs and results . 😀
Great video, just a small question, how to get the little performance box on the upper right corner?
RTX 3060,i7 12600kf, 32GB RAM.
go in the msfs general settings and check the dev tool then at the top you should have some meus pop up go to option i think and go down to fps counter and check that on.
Hello and thanks for the comment and the great questions 😀 please head down to the description and click on the video that I have for best windows settings and that should answer all of those questions. Also and the end of this graphics video thee should be a link pop up for that video as well .
Many thanks for doing this, I have a decent AMD with 32G Ram, Do I follow the same as described in this Video?
I am not very smart at his, but Just a simple yes or no will be very helpful. Thank you so much!!
Sure let me know what you find
Thanks for the comment . Yes are you using the openxr toolkit I dis a video on that and how to set it up for the reverb.

Thanks for goodness Broo...any optimization guide u have for 1050ti ?..Seems like lotta lags I have befriend with
Hey there so a 1050ti is not a good card to use for msfs unfortunately and I'm not sure even if you turn everything to low if it would work or not
@@2020fsers my bad luck bro
3080 ti? Do YOU need to optimize the game ? lol. Thanks thought. Great vid
Lol yes I do especially for vr . Thanks for the comment glad you enjoyed it .
Works great! I’m curious as to why I have an overlap in game play on the bottom left that displays some display information???
Thanks for the comment ... if you are using dlss you will get that overlay.
@@2020fsers never had that until I did this mod.
If you are using the nvclean install then dont check the dlss box and that should remove it.
@@2020fsers thanks for the help. So will I need to do the install all over?
Yes unfortunately. I have never tried with that unticked so I only assume that it will remove the dlss overlay if left unticked .
If for some reason Microsoft Flight Simulator isn't listed in your 3d settings (2:30) you can click ADD and if you had recently run the program, it should be somewhere near the top of that list.
Thabks for the comment
Hi!! ...also applies to the SU10 and NVIDIA 517.48 driver?
Yes but I am going to redo this video as I have more stuff to add but yes the settings here should still apply to su10
Thanks!
Your welcome 🙏
