Great advice! Didn’t know about the difference in electrolyte/ water considerations as a salty sweater.

I just ordered me some new Earth Runners sandals using your promo code. Thanks for saving me 10% and I hope you get some kind of credit for providing that. Just found your channel yesterday and I'm glad I waited a couple of extra days to order. Subscribed.
    Thanks again!

Wildland firefighters work in the heat and elevation that hikers enjoy. My son was on a Type 2 handcrew in 2007 his first year and drinking the 2 liters/hour that they were supplied each working hour. After a couple of days he became dizzy and felt sluggish, so he went to the fire camp medic tent. The doc listened to him and took a few basic measurements, then tossed him a bag of potatoes chips to eat immediately, saying "take two extra bags with your lunch bag each shift, you're low on electrolytes." Something so simple with such complicated effects.

Thanks for the reminder that water alone is not enough when hiking in over 90 degrees.

An important note is that too many electrolytes is also bad. It can create an imbalance and make all sorts of issues

There's such a balance that needs to be struck. Folks def go overboard with electrolytes sometimes.
