Wow, I've heard about Saga but I never realized how detailed it gets with back st, French knots, etc. Do you know if designers have to use Saga to chart their designs in order to do this?
Hi, sorry, I missed this comment somehow! So the designer will need to have Saga in order to convert to a saga file but you can design the pattern in a variety of programs, so you can upload file types such as .xsd, .xsp, .pat and .oxs Hope that answers your question!
Hello. I downloaded to my iPad a chart from Owl Forest Embroidery which should be PDF and Saga compatible. When I try to add it to SAGA, it is grayed out and won’t let me click on it. Can you explain how to save it on my iPad so I can add it to SAGA.
@@susantaylor530 hmmm, what is the ending on the file? Like .pdf etc? It needs to be a specific file type, if they have both pdf and saga, the saga file, I think should be a separate file? There are several types of files that are supported, if it’s .pdf them that’s bit the correct one, as pdf is not supported on saga. I have used .saga and .oxs files before. Maybe have a look at where you downloaded and see if there is another file you need to download. Failing that, I’d suggest contacting the designer, if they have said they support saga, they need to supply the correct file
That’s the main con, it doesn’t support pdf files and paper patterns, I suspect it never will because the functionality for the backstitch and more specialised stitches just doesn’t work with pdf or paper scans
Thank you, I’ve watched their own videos but there’s no commentary, your video is v helpful.
@@gabrisstitches8038 glad I could help!

What about loading paper patterns?
