I wonder at times if Sark remembers the reasons Herman was fired. Going for it on 4th down instead of taking easy field goals then losing games by 3 points how many times???? Major red zone problems with an explosive offense, 2 drives in a row inside the 5, and no points. Take the points and win another game, easily should have been 41.
A Big 12 Title and playoff in sight. Texas can’t get complacent. They need to stay hungry. And continue to play up to their potential, not down to their opponents the next four games.
1) Defense did very well against the run, pressuring the QB - however the secondary needs to clean up tackles in open space. 2) Offense did very well blocking in the run game. Some pressure on Maalik though, which consequently caused him to make some poor choices with the ball. The one INT, and the fumble lost (should have taken the sack instead). 3) Play calling was interesting at times. Two 4th and goals and going for it. I wonder if Steve is testing things, and BYU was the team to test on. Defense had the game in the bag. I think this shows that sometimes you just need to take the points and not always go for it on 4th down, unless absolutely necessary. 4) Overall the biggest takeaway for me was how good the the front seven on defense is, and how good our run blocking, and run game period is.
