Thanks Nigel, glad you liked the vid. That bag is perfect for me, it was not cheap to buy but it is super comfy, good size and it has been very well made I think, high quality so will last me for years, its been used pretty much everyday for many months and no sign of wear. That dump pouch is very handy filled with everything from shells, wood and small game. Thanks for watching! a.t.b.

Thanks Mike, yes 5:11 very tough high quality stuff have had no probs with stitching or zips and as you can see I stuff it full so seams are tested! Yes the pro knot is so useful and I have a memory of an amoeba so always forgetting my knots LOL! I think I will do a knife review of the GSO 4.1. When out overnighting and sometimes hunting I tend to take my esee 6 but the GSO is great for everyday stuff when I am out and about. All the best Mike.

Thanks Malcolm, I think baby wipes is a good idea. Re the knives, I think that one knife rule is a good idea but when in woods for a few hours like to muck around with carving so the mora 120 will stay in backpack but mora clipper is a bit redundant now so will take out of pack. My lurcher def needs a coat as she really suffers from the cold, 3/4 greyhound. . WIth practice shewee does work but admit it took a bit of practice and a few messy moments! Thanks for watching! a.t.b.

BEWARE THE MOLLY , you can go attachment crazy , I call it stuff syndrome , my wife says I have it bad : ) . The jet boil stoves are great , good for a quick meal on the run , I had one for years . Great pack with an amazing number of pockets and pouches for all the necessities, excellent assortment of gear. I guess you add or do something else for over night gear? My small pack at present is an old U.S. military, external steel frame, crude in comparison. Thanks for showing, helps remind of some essentials. I also like the jeans and boots!

Thanks Ollie! Pack sure works well for me re organisation. I always keep everything in the same pockets so I know where things are. I had a very old large basic rucksack for my overnighters, which finally gave up on me, now have a Highlander saber 45 with side pockets. The 5:11 too small for tent, sleeping bag etc. I transfer the cutting stuff, fire starters into the overnighter from the rush 12, rest of stuff in 5:11 is duplicated in both bags. Jeans and boots are my favourites! a.t.b. to you

Thanks mentalmonkey, I really want to do a short review on the headtorch as I really do think its money well spent .i.m.o.. Re tarp and cordage. Do you know you are so right and its something I have on my list to add as when spending hours in the woods I have been caught out by rain a pain. I already have 3x3 tarp but too big for day trek needs. I don't think I could squeeze anymore in to the daypack but the tarp could be strapped onto those Molles. Thanks for watching a.t.b.

Thanks Beanhead, the EDC is called a GSO 4.1 made by a small knife company in the US called Survive knives. Took me ages to decide on a 4inch blade, love my esee 6, still use it alot, but too big to belt wear for walking in more public countryside areas. I am going to do a review on the GSO as not many on youtube, i.m.o. a good multitasking very tough knife. Thanks for watching a.t.b.

Thanks ess gee, the bag is very comfortable carrying max 15 lb. However, its not a 72hour pack. My old 72hours rucksack disintegrated, I looked at the 5:11 rush 24 and 72. neither had great reviews for comfort as no proper hip belt for heavy loads . I went for a karrimor saber 45 with side pouches. works well, comfortable and have a snugpack response for my smaller bits and pieces, which I belt carry or put in saber. so karrimor and rush 12 cover my needs now! Hope this helps. a.t.b.

Its amazing how much it carries and I find it so comfortable even carrying 15 lb with no waist strap is fine. I own a RUSH 12, too. Great pack. Tip: use packing cubes for your clothes. Reason: they prevent your clothes from unraveling -- which would otherwise make a mess and slow you down -- whenever you take your clothes out of your pack for whatever reason. Wildsoul Vee,
Great video. Thanks to Zed I found your channel. I recently purchased the 5.!! Rush 12 Daypack for EDC, Day Hikes, and travel. It's a great carry-on bag for air travel even in smaller aircraft. The pack is very rugged and well built. I did some research on daypacks before I purchased and shopping at a Field & Stream (major outdoor rec/hunting and fishing store) I happened to see this pack. I was looking at other daypacks and this was certainly superior.
You fit an impressive amount of items in the pack. You provided me with several ideas. Love the drop bag.
While traveling I located an inexpensive Molle web strapbottle carrier by Rothco from Wilderness Outfitters of Klean Canteens I use when out. May purchase another Molle system in the future to hold a standard canteen/cooker.
    Thanks again.

Fantastic Pack on your bag, xxllnt contents. However for me, if going double distance instead of 5, like 10 miles I did last week up a nasty trail, I would never carry that much with me. I took, knife, food, water, first aid, extra socks, bandana, wallet and keys, and that was it. Still coming in at 10 lb including about a liter and half of water with a small Deuter bag. Don't get me wrong, I would drool to have your setup for a 5 mile hike which is casual outing for me. I learnt the hard way to lighten my load, but then hikes and day trekking are a bit different. Great presentation, wish I what you have.

Thanks for the comment. I think you have a fair point about how much my pack carries and the difference between day and walks and treks. Since making the vid I have adapted and lightened my loaded pack. The UK weather is so incredibly changeable that I always have to carry waterproofs and clothing layers unless its summer. As for the jetboil set up I still take that if I am going with kids to the beach or shortish walks, but on longer walks I put in my small tangier burner. This pack has become my go to bag and I always chuck it in the car if I am going any distance loaded and it has proved useful in this respect. Thanks for watching and happy trekking! a.t.b. vee

I use the 5:11 pretty much everyday for cycling and walking. I use joggers armbands (LED strips with Velcro) which work very well with the molle straps after dark. I would ditch a couple of your blades and carry a basic gore-tex bivi bag for almost the same space it would take up. Gerber a good choice !!

wingaard Thanks for the comment. The rush 12 is such a well designed bag. Funnily enough I have added joggers armbands to the kit too for dark night walking. Since making the vid I have reduced the contents and only carry one knife on my belt and one small 2 inch knife in the pack for back up. a.t.b. vee

Thanks Tedzy, yes 5:11 does have good durability and though the price is on the high side I am prepared to pay for something that clearly will last for a long time. Hope you are kitted out with their gear soon! a.t.b.

Thanks Ants, I really feel happy with the GSO 4.1 ( may do a review on it if anyone interested) .I still take my esee 6 on overnighters but the GSO is tough enough to get on with any jobs I need it for when out for the day. a.t.b.

Great stuff, I would leave the tissues and take baby wipes much better for all jobs except wiping your nose. After you have used them light them and they're gone. I would be inclined to only carry one knife. But that's me trying to lighten the load. I have a German wire hair pointer which has a rough coat similar to your dogs and she doesn't need a coat unless it's really cold ,so I'd leave the coat home. My wife tried the shewee and found it a bit messy, but she finds everything difficult. Keep

Hi Haaris, as far as I am aware you can carry a folding non lockable knife under three inches in blade length. YOu can only carry a fixed blade if you can prove that you are needing and using it for the purpose of work or camping etc. However, you cannot carry a fixed blade concealed or in any public place. If this is not right info hopefully someone can correct me. a.t.b.

Enjoyed watching, A refreshing change to see a review from a female perspective.
I have a rush 72 that i use for wild camping here in the UK. The 12 being such a small bag, perhaps you could also use it for overnighters as well as walks and make use of the 2x bottom loops for strapping additional kit on such as your tarp, hammock and Waterproof in a compression sack without exhausting the main compartment space.
