We bought one of these last nights. Found it worked well on the colored layer but the glue layer not so much. I think this paper is from the 1970's. Going to try again today, thanks for this video, watching what you went through gives us hope!
The guy with 2.4 million subs gives all kinds of wrong advice , lol . No wonder why I see so many messed homeowner projects . He gives some good advice too but the pros know what I’m talking about
I work almost exclusively 100 year old (and older) houses and I can tell you that most people don't know how to work on the old stuff. Ive had to fix some pretty bad jobs by other contractors.
I can only imagine the mess people created for themselves if they did what that guy told them to do never once did he tell them to seal the wallpaper with oilbased primer so the skimcoat doesn't moisturize the paper and cause it to peel. Some guys get ahead of themselves

I remember when I tried to skim coat over wall paper before I knew better! 🤣🤣 I'll never make that mistake again!
