Smart Shoe for the Blind || Extremely useful Arduino Project

- Hello Friends,
In today's video, we will learn how to make a smart shoe that can help blind people in detecting obstacle in front of them and thus prevents them from hitting it. This is an extremely useful Arduino project. The obstacle detection is done by using HS RC 04 ultrasonic sensor. When the blind person reaches any obstacle, the ultrasonic sensor detects it and the buzzer goes on. The buzzer sounds the alarm as long as the shoe is near the obstacle.

That is true friend. There are many limitations. Not only just stairs, it cannot detect the absence of ground also in front of the person. This is only a very basic project, where only the obstacle while walking will be detected. 🙂

@@anilreddybnavayugaHi friend.. When the blind person walks up stairs, the alarm will sound continously. That is true. But the purpose of the shoe is to first warn the blind person before reaching any obstacle. So, before reaching stairs, the person will be walking on level ground when there will not be any alarm. So as soon as he reaches near the stairs, the alarm will sound, just warning the blind person that he has reached near some obstacle. Now, it is upto the blind person to maybe feel the obstacle with his legs and understand whether it is stairs or some small obstacle that the can pass over. If it is stairs, the alarm will be on while walking up the stairs. That is true. But the main objective was that he is first warned about the presence of something so that he can stop immediately and then carefully proceed.

Hi friend. This error says can't set com state for \COM7 means it is not able to communicate to arduino uno through COM 7 port. You can unplug and plug the usb cable connecting arduino. Also after you connect, make sure to goto IDE software..tools..port..select the correct port with a tick mark. Then upload..

That is true friend. It will not work in rain as there is no rain proofing given. I made this as a simple project for kids just to show the concept. If, it has to work correctly, under rain also, then some sort of a protection from water is to be given for the electronics. That can be done easily also, I guess!!!

What can explode may be only the 9V battery that is used. But the battery is so small that, it will not create any damage. Also, the battery is kept outside the shoe. So if it explodes also, there will not be any damage to the leg..,👍
