Man was I spoiled rotten as a kid growing up in the 70's & 80's with all the Super Groups playing this caliber of incredible Rock music back then. We took it completely for granted, thinking that this amount of phenomenal material was just normal? Who would realize as time would go on that most of the "New Age" Rock groups of the 90's and onward would never measure up anywhere near talent of the numerous bands of those 2 decades? I remember the band Journey would be the opening act of Kiss, the Stones, Van Halen, etc. Ahh..we were so much luckier than the Gen X'rs or Millenium kids of today.
Man did you hit the nail on the head. We took everything we had for granted. Now my kids ask me what it was like back In our day.....holy shit I'm the old man now.....and I just tell them I'm sorry they weren't there too. No other answer works.
I'd scratch this off as spastic old bastard talk... there're decent music nowadays, yous just too lazy to unearth the gems among the lump of shit, tired of these comments putting 80's rock on a pedestal; humanity magnum opus. They still good, still no need to slag off contemporary music
@@josephanthony9676 I think what he meant was that great music was abundant back then. For me, that was the 70's, not as much in much the 80's. Compared to now, the 80's were fantastic. Back then we didn't have to unearth gems as they were everywhere.
58 Years old now and jamming to it on my surround sound as we speak trying to get motivated to work on house bad ass tunes then and still today thank God for the 80s rock on....
Can you remember remember my name As I flow through your life A thousand oceans I have flown And cold spirits of ice All my life I am the echo of your past I am returning the echo of a point in time Distant faces shine A thousand warriors I have known And laughing as the spirits appear All your life Shadows of another day And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect Strangers I know I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow A strand of silver hanging through the sky Touching more than you see The voice of ages in your mind Is aching with the dead of the night Precious life (your tears are lost in falling rain) And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect Strangers
The reason I love this song, is cause it was the Entrance Theme of 1 of the greatest ECW World Heavyweight Champions of All Time, "The Franchise" Shane Douglas.
Fighting out of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, weighing in at 250 pounds, he is the first ever and the longest reigning ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) World Heavyweight Champion The Franchise Shane Douglas!
Just lost my only son, YOUR TEARS ARE LOST IN FALLING RAIN, this relares so much pain for me, we went to see them together, I remember us singing the chorus togethet, bitter sweet memories. RIP Lee my perfect son.
I think I love this song more now than I did back in the day. I never got tired of hearing it. Listening to it now and loving every second of it! My favorite DP song 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 It's meant to be played LOUD !!!
I'm from the younger generation, but I love it! I also want to recommend you the cover of this song by Piotr Cugowski -> Tipsy Train & Piotr Cugowski "Perfect Strangers" (Deep Purple) - live. I think it's really worth attention
That pie eye’d kid rocking out to this in Highschool never thinking these lyrics would truly reflect who I’d become, the hundreds places I’ve been, the thousand warriors I’ve known and the death that I’ve seen. The spirits and the shadows that reappear as if on the wind. But I gotta act like I don’t know anything about it, not even recognizing it was me. Just haunting memories that come back as dreams... 😢
Gil Flores...Deep Purple 1969 onward...no doubt!!!... there's even a comment here by a Hindu that references the Reincarnation reality... that band is Spiritual and as it evolved the band members all found their fates to morph as us 'pie-eyed kids' ---You, I, and numerous others have had our lives yarn our fates, most not realizing the Stranger Perfect of Samskaras, Karma and Intention...great insight!!!
I’m just now getting into Deep Purple. It was sparked by seeing the Dead Daisies with Glenn Hughes as front man. It’s was an awesome show! Holy Ground rules!
you know your old when you were listening to this in your early teens , so glad that my taste in music has not changed 32 years later !!!
your still hot !!!
Judy Leblanc ❤
This songs timeless..
I'm 24... my parents did a good job parenting lol
sure, it is
That riff just draws you in....almost like a march, like your heading into an abyss.....perfection!!!
It IS a march,, not exactly but a multiform poem in chords lol... that's why some deep metal tunes seem almost synesthesiacal if that's a real word...
its a tough choice between this or Knockin at Your Back door
@@peterhall8572 For sure!
Watching much music. 12 or 13. I was memorized.
Hes talking with mr christ
arguably the best ever by deep purple..definitely perfect for a 3am drive on the highway

Do NOT consider taking other people's opinion in music - THIS IS THE REAL THING-
You are what you listen and read to.
DEEP PURPLE for ever
Great song. Ian Gillian is awesome. He was great with Black Sabbath also. I wish he had made more than one album with them.

This song its perfect. Greetings from México. 🇲🇽2021 Pandemic days
Can you remember remember my name
As I flow through your life
A thousand oceans I have flown
And cold spirits of ice
All my life
I am the echo of your past
I am returning the echo of a point in time
Distant faces shine
A thousand warriors I have known
And laughing as the spirits appear
All your life
Shadows of another day
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect Strangers
I know I must remain inside this silent
well of sorrow
A strand of silver hanging through the sky
Touching more than you see
The voice of ages in your mind
Is aching with the dead of the night
Precious life (your tears are lost in falling rain)
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect Strangers
Thank you!!!!
Thanks
