I have a fig tree. A couple years ago, someone in my neighborhood wanted some fig cuttings, so I allowed him to get some. Many years ago, I used to harvest them and bring them to the office at work for someone who liked them.
I hate the fact that some people think that every fruit ripens once it picked. Some fruit will get softer, but they do not always get sweeter. I grew up in an agricultural community and was very disappointed when I moved to a city and had trouble finding sweet fruit, such as peaches, apricots or plums.
In our sub tropical climate in Australia, x 3 Banana trees was my first I planted, Mulberry is the second tree we planted on the property. I dont have a fig tree though, might get one.thank you very much 👍🏼👍🏼
I didn’t know apple is such a strong tree until i brought my little seedling grown from seed to a desert,it stays evergreen in the winter even it’s very cold here at nights and the winds are strong with sand storms,and it’s still doing well even after root pruning.

I have a dwarf mulberry that is growing well (so far). But then I read that it has invasive roots. So now I’m pondering whether to move it further away from the house. I will wait til fall and hopefully it survives being uprooted. I also have a crabapple tree. I bought it because at the time the website said it was compatible with our chill hours. It’s not. So I dunno what to do with it. It’s growing well but obviously not flowering, ever. Thanks for the video!
I have all these except for the jujube. I will say the peaches I have are very prone to insect damage in my area once they fruit. Do you get fruit from your jujube?
The problem in my area is the gophers LOVE to eat and kill all of these trees. I have even had gophers kill 20ft. tall trees with 8" diameter trunks. :( I have to run traps and use other deterrents daily to try and keep my trees from being killed by the gophers. Then there are the ground squirrels, rats, mice and birds of course. I am lucky if I get even 10% of my fruit......

You said right ! Fruit did NOT taste the same comparing those fruit which pickup from Your own tree and those fruit bought from the store, (any store !). NOTHING taste better than those fruit which growing on your own trees. Beside that need to totaled in consideration the Health Benefits eating fresh, delicious fruit from Your own trees. Enjoy !
Ive killed so many figs ilive near death valley though. But seems ive always gotten crap trees to start with like rootbound and rotten. My mulberries though are flourishing. Seems my figs burn up. Im 20 miles from death valley.. my wonderful pomegranate has flowers all over it never seen one with so many flowers.
@@qctropicals Dude I need some fig help lol. I bought one this year i have it shaded, an LSU PURPLE , going to be a small tree but leaves are coming out. The one i got replaced from OGW some Turkey fig Bayernbridge, Violetta ?? its idk... no leaves but the one that was rotted and root bound is leafing i left it in the ground so idk, only one not growing is in a pot..go figure

LOL Hall of Shame!!! Not to sure on that growing Peaches and other stone fruit. Have to spray them in the south, scale, and fungal crap takes some work if your hot and wet.
Very true here in the Deep South. Always humid and some summers are extremely rainy . I’ve even had all leave get infected and fall of midsummer on my figs . Stone fruits are hard here .
I agree with you about the trees. I would add moringa, plus you can grow it from seed.

Pomegranate trees are easy to grow, and I get a lot of seedlings growing everywhere in my parents' backyard.

Try to bag your fruit or meet the trees. It makes a big difference with squirrels, rabbits, racoons, possums, and birds.
Does anyone know if Shangri la or white Pakistan will survive the winter at show low lakeside???
You should stick to Illinois Everbearing or Black Beauty if you want to get fruit. I think the frost would kill Pakistans and Shangrilas.

@@irisirene4723 the Li jujube is self-pollinating and will pollinate other varieties of jujubes.
With Chinese Jujube, need 2 trees, different cultivars. Li and Lang most common. Search online for the pollinators that your tree needs/likes.
