Good guide. The only thing I would add is this: The hardest part of the game for me was the very beginning - only a stick, no shield, no potions and you don't know the enemies. To close the gap in combat ability use the lock-on feature. Seriously, it makes all the difference at first. Once you have the sword, shield, and wand, and bombs, you're loaded for war and while the later enemies are a lot more challenging, your arsenal matches. So if you find the start of the game hard, push on a little... it takes 1-2 hours to get the hang of it and then the game is a lot more rewarding.
