We both that that she was a "pro" by 1981, albeit not yet old. By that time she had been singing for longer than most professional athletes professional careers span.
Denise (along with her other sisters) sang in the Southwest Michigan State Choir as preteens with their mother. Twinkie played for SWSC since her preteens. Yes, Denise is playing the tambourine. I have family who was there in 80 when this was recorded.
Ronald Hicks no one knows you or your family. Again, this is the COGIC church in the 80s. Anybody could have been playing the tambourine. Unless you have a video to prove it, then this is pure speculation.
Noah Ellis Assumptions. Because she is apparently the only one in the COGIC that played the tambourine in 1980, especially in that big old mass choir 🙄
William Dunson Your comment is dumb as hell. Choir mics back then were one per section and they were in the front. Any choir member could have been playing the tambourine.
I'm an old school drummer and im so tired of the drum machines that drummers use to keep timing back in the 70-80s we didn't have that we just drums, bongos, congos, tambourines, wash boards, an old piano and a maybe a organ and we had church!!!
We need more drummers like you bro because I feel the machines are taking away the true anointing of all the instruments and the hand clappin, and foot STOMPIN. Especially when it comes to the ole school devotional songs.
I just cannot stand click tracks I have playing drums for over 20+yrs and can play church choir music and praise breaks just fine heck in ole school we need the ole time way back in the black church
This is the version I mentioned on the International COGIC version (which I said was second only to this one). I am SO glad to hear this one again FINALLY!!! (mine is stuck in the cassette player of an old car) GOD BLESS!!!
I've been waiting for this song for the LONGEST time. Ford Auditorium was never the same after this, lol. The Clark Sisters with the SW Michigan state choir KILLED IT! This is the best version of this song I've heard. I wish I could have been there to see this in person.
Oh they GOT THEM!!!!! PLAY TWINKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of my favorite albums period. Once again you have brought a memory to me I never thought I'd hear again. This album has so much significance for me.. A symbol of how blessed my City has been. God Bless you. Now let me go hear that mighty WIlliams Chapel Make Chorus!!!
Gospel Nostalgia Naw, Bruh, I had already seen the link. That's what I meant. I was watching that one next. And I did and they CHURCHED me Doc like I knew they would. Bless you for your work out here.
I love the wonderful spirit filled talent of these beautiful young women. Gospel has always been in their lineage from generation to generation. Their God-given talent has won many souls to CHRIST. I love the Clark Sisters and whatever they produce. Not only are they singers, but they are anointed of GOD spread the gospel. They are good people, and they live their lives an example for many. Thank you Clark Sisters. Keep the faith and keep up the good work for the LORD.
PRAISE ,😁GOD...Praise him he's bought you through things that you don't even know about...he made alot of things possible for the days to come..He touched you this morning.. There's so much going on in your City and you're alright.. HALLELUJAH 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Good morning and enjoy everything in this day Thank the Lord for this level of heat because it could be worst,🔥 🗞️ Add a boost to your Joy today by praising the Lord all-day😁 God's way is the best way I LOVE YOU..🦅
+Gospel Nostalgia I can imagine what was going on during the praise break. Karen shouting right after she was done singing, Twinkie tearing the organ up, Denise tearing the tambourine and then shouting, Dorinda and half the choir shouting along with Mattie herself LOL. That's what I think was going on
Thanks, Bro!!! Believe it or not, nobody from the Church has a recording of them singing Ezekiel...it's not on any of the old broadcast recordings either...That album is the only existing footage of their arrangement.
This sound can never be duplicated
You know for a 20 year old, Karen sung this like an old pro!!!
We both that that she was a "pro" by 1981, albeit not yet old. By that time she had been singing for longer than most professional athletes professional careers span.
You ain't never lied about THAT!
funkpunkandroll I meant "old pro" in the most respectful way! 😂😂😂
@funkpunkandroll Yes! The joke was the "old" part, not the "pro" part. She wasn't even 21 yet. That's all I meant...LOL
So true. 😎 Karen's a genius.
Denise is beating the metal off that tambourine!!
c Phillips how do you know its her? This isn’t a Clark sisters performance.
I love music The Clark Sisters sang in the choir also
Denise (along with her other sisters) sang in the Southwest Michigan State Choir as preteens with their mother. Twinkie played for SWSC since her preteens. Yes, Denise is playing the tambourine. I have family who was there in 80 when this was recorded.

I love music Idk why you’re so upset about this but it was indeed Denise playing that tambourine.
I know for a fact Denise was playing that tambourine LoL.
im4Christ4life You KNOW it!!!!
Haha yeah I can see that!!
🤣😂
Oh you know her sound! Nobody beats like her! CRISP 16th & 32nds!!!
Amen
Does anyone agree that this song should be on iTunes?
Or Google play
Right
My family went to the live recording. I remember watching the video as a kid. Nothing but pure, Holy Ghost, sanctified CHURCH!!!!
I wish I could have been there!
Niecey better play that tambourine👏🏾👏🏾
How do you know that Denise playing the tambourine
Noah Ellis Assumptions. Because she is apparently the only one in the COGIC that played the tambourine in 1980, especially in that big old mass choir 🙄
Prob was denise....sounds like whoever is playing is right under the mic
William Dunson Your comment is dumb as hell. Choir mics back then were one per section and they were in the front. Any choir member could have been playing the tambourine.
I love music, kindly take this negativity elsewhere. How can something as simple as Denise playing a tambourine set you off?
2:46 Karen put that Michael Jackson style run, unreal. Classic Gospel 🎵🎼🙏
Niecy beat the stuffing out that tambourine!
That’s she did!!!
The Drummer though!!!!! I play the end for the drummer as much as I play it for Twinkie!!! He praised the Lord on them drums!!!
That drummer was killing it!!!!!
No click trac 😀
KILLING!!! LIKE A MACHINE!!!
This NEVER gets old...they went IN as SOON as they could!!!
Did you hear the genius of the drummer at the beginning.....WOW!!!
I'm an old school drummer and im so tired of the drum machines that drummers use to keep timing back in the 70-80s we didn't have that we just drums, bongos, congos, tambourines, wash boards, an old piano and a maybe a organ and we had church!!!
Khalil Smith
we sometimes still use the washboard
We need more drummers like you bro because I feel the machines are taking away the true anointing of all the instruments and the hand clappin, and foot STOMPIN. Especially when it comes to the ole school devotional songs.
Exactly!
@@mauriceglass2854 finally there are others who get it as well. Holy Spirit been telling me this for years!
I just cannot stand click tracks I have playing drums for over 20+yrs and can play church choir music and praise breaks just fine heck in ole school we need the ole time way back in the black church
I love this version the best. That praise service and the end was stellar. Classical Pentecostal (Cogic)
This is the version I mentioned on the International COGIC version (which I said was second only to this one). I am SO glad to hear this one again FINALLY!!! (mine is stuck in the cassette player of an old car) GOD BLESS!!!
newcreature2011 God bless you Bro.

This song was written by Twinkie Clark
In the EARLY 70s and still FIRE in any set in any venue....Hallelujah gon ALWAYS set fire. Genius writer.
I've been waiting for this song for the LONGEST time. Ford Auditorium was never the same after this, lol. The Clark Sisters with the SW Michigan state choir KILLED IT! This is the best version of this song I've heard. I wish I could have been there to see this in person.
It is literally the best one. Out of DOZENS of GREAT ones...this is the best. The praise break alone is RIDICULOUS!!!
And you KNOW they stompped the carpet out the building dancing!
Karen’s voice is set so much higher now than when she was younger!
This is the best version if this EVER!!!
I think so too.
I remember watching the video 24-7 when I was a kid. I love the Clark sisters!!!
There was a video for this?
