Thank you! My husband somehow disassembled one of our heaters and couldn’t get it figured out. It’s been sitting in pieces in our garage for a year. Think I’ll try my luck at changing the wick and putting it back together for him.
You forgot to mention that u have to fill the Kerosene heater with 1K heater fuel n let the wick in the bottom soak for 60 minutes (1hour) before lighting. Set wick at proper height to prevent smoking. Overall great install Video, Salute!!🎉🎉
I had to install mine with the wick up. Installing it down, I was unable to raise it after putting back together. Interesting you didn't have this issue.
Same thing happened to me. 100% have the correct wick. It's the wick bunching up. The wick didn't smoothly go down all the way. Just lift it back out and play with the wick going down making sure it doesn't bunch at all
You didn't make her clean the chimney? I recently bought a used one and spent hours cleaning the spoot. Definitely worth it and definitely a chore to stay on top of. Do you recommend any cleaning agent for this?
I've had mine for about 20 years and the design hasn't changed much since then or in the previous years it was made. So whoever came up with the design did a super job that didn't need much tweaking! As an older guy, I appreciate when things don't change.
Nothing on the Internet about wick adjuster not working after replacing the old wick . Headache and frustration. Nothing never made me cuss like this but a mower that want start.
I followed all instructions (several times) but each time I could NOT get the damned wick knob to bring the wick up!! Tried 6 times. Tremendously frustrated
I’ve always had to crank it all the way up and then hold it in place so the level doesn’t kick the release and then install the wick as if it’s fully raised up rather than install it down and raise it up. Like you it never raises up.
I did every step shown in several videos no less than 8 times and the wick would not adjust at all. Took it all apart and back together until I realized that this bs is insanity. That is when I threw it across the yard and then into the trash where this design belongs. Cheers
I'm not sure but perhaps the wick holder is worn and also needs replacing. Without seeing your heater, I'm not saying for sure. I think you're initial reaction to throw the pos in the trash is probably the best idea because if you're replacing more than the wick, then, other parts are equally worn and in the end, just get a new heater.

I put wick on exactly like u did but when I go wind up wick it don’t go up ? Feels jammed won’t crank why?

Do you have the correct size wick? That is the only thing I can think of.

Good experience thanks my frend
Good job
'inco sheets' are good for containing any unwanted kerosine seepage or spillage :)
I have one and what wick do I put on?

The chimney wasn't too bad. A great cleaner is Super Clean. Purple bottles and you can find in big box stores. It cuts through grease and nasty stuff.
Simple green
Was it smoking? Did the wick replacement work?
It had been several years and was due for a new wick. The new one worked well.
Can you even imagine the engineering brain thinking that came up with this contraption?

What can cause sengoku or-77 kerosene heater wick not go down and it will not light

Great job
would it be easier to get the new wick over the heater tube if it was wet with kerosene first?
No.
I learned something. I need your wife to come do mine. HAH!😊
I am trying to put a wick in

that might just be the problem! Thank you! I was just too frustrated and smelled of kerosene. I will try it again this weekend. @@stephensmart5543
