EP45: Crusin' the Capricorn Coast | Yeppoon, Great Keppel, Rockhampton, Gladstone | Lap of Australia

- Опубліковано 25 лип 2024
- We’re in the Capricorn Coast this week and our first stop is lovely Yeppoon where we weren’t going to miss the chance to head over to stunning Great Keppel Island, we even took Archie! We visited a few stunning beaches and did some snorkeling on Monkey Beach, before relaxing on Fishermans Beach for the afternoon.
After a couple of days exploring the town of Yeppoon, having a dip in the new Yeppoon Lagoon and enjoying our of our favourite caravan parks to date, it was time to move on to Rockhampton. We spend a couple of days in the Beef capital of Australia, visiting the free zoo, checking out the town and watching a stunning sunset over the city. Finally, we end the week discovering Gladstone.
We are Hannah, Chris and dog Archie, setting off on a 12(ish) month trip around Australia - our BIG Staycation, with the whole of Australia as our backyard! We've quit our jobs, rented the house and gone from never towing a caravan, to touring the country full time with one! We're learning as we go! / staycationoz

What a lovely thing to say! Thank you so much and we’re so glad you enjoy our videos. We’re definitely in good company if you’re comparing us to Malcolm Douglas! ☺️ Thanks, Hannah & Chris
Great episode. Been meaning to say this for a while. Love the intros on your episodes. Its so helpful and engaging seeing the map of where you are going and have been. Good work.
Thanks so much Dale! Yea we work hard to make those cool little intros, the map helps with perspective of where we are and how far we’ve been! 👍
Hey
I know it’s been a while but just wondering where you stayed in Yeppoon ? We are not to far away from there and looking for a good place to stay with our fur babies.
Thanks
Jenny & Dale
Millie & Harry
Hey there Jenny, we stayed at Island View Caravan Park which is just outside Yeppoon! A really great little Caravan Park, one of our favourites in QLD!!
Oh thanks so much we have just booked them. Seem lovely on the phone.
What ferry service did you use to go to Great Keppel Island ?
We miss your vid’s, do you have any plans for heading back out on the road?
Hey Jenny - just to let you know, we’re out and about again doing smaller trips this time, but the videos of our adventures are back!! ☺️
Thanks for another great episode
Flash you enjoyed it!! Thanks for watching!! 👍🙏
I've had a busy spell with work, so am now catching up on the episodes I've missed, beginning with this one. Some lovely places visited and absolutely wonderfully crystal clear water. Great to see Archie enjoying his sessions in the water. I assume Keppel Island was discovered by Admiral Lord Keppel (ancestor of Camilla Duchess of Cornwall) during his circumnavigation of the globe with Lord Anson. Whatever the background, you showed us some lovely places + what an impressive building the Old Customs House is !
Glad you’ve caught up again! ☺️
I don’t know the history of Keppel Island, but I think you’re probably right!! X
Luv your videos and the review you do on the caravan park was really informative which we will book into that park as well . Keep up the great work scottie
Thanks so much for the amazing feedback!! Yea if we find somewhere we like, we’ll definitely talk about it in the videos, try get a spot near the little lake! 👍
We are loving your videos and hope to be in Yeppoon in April! So this was helpful 😁
Thanks so much! We loved Yeppoon, definitely goto Great Keppel, you’ll love it!! 😍☀️🏝
Great video guys!!
That's such a funny beef capital fact - "Every single person gets 25 of their own cows" - hahahahaha!
Shame you didn't get to meet the baby chimp but aren't the meerkats just the best
Haha it’s crazy isn’t it! We loved the meerkats, we were watching them for at least 30min hahaha! Thanks for watching, we’ll definitely be back in future!! 👍🍻
Hey guys, hope your Christmas & New Year were good! 😊
Thanks for the last couple of great videos. As usual content & commentary were really good!
Love ‘Archie Cam’, little champion!
Great bloopers last episode and Chris’ 1st attempt at the zoo was production quality, haha..... didn’t need the re-take 😀
Take care guys, safe travels.
Corrie & Lyn, your Crusader buddies 😊
Hahaha whoops we missed that double take haha, I might try remove it! Thanks for watching as always!! 👍
Hey Hanna, its now the 10th of jan, end of the 4th test, I think ya better start practising ya "G'day Mate's"
Hahahaha - ya flamin’ galah!!! 🦜 😂
That's not rough lol I go to keppel in my 4m tinny all the time
Hahaha Archie certainly wasn’t enjoying it!! Thanks for watching!!
Great video 😎👍😎
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!! 👍
Great once again ! Love the drone footage it was amazing !! I thought Chris was from the Uk too ! … xxx
Thankyou!! Haha yea everyone does, it happens ALL the time lol, but yes I’m an Aussie haha!! 👍🇦🇺🦘
Made me laugh about the rivalry … I am a pomm but have been here long enough now to always go for the Aussies …. But not when I first came here ! !!
Haha great to hear you’ve come to the bright side!! Hannah hasn’t quite made that leap yet 😜
Nooo there are too many people here at the moment. It's chaos!
Yea, there are so many people all over the east coast it’s insane!! We’re at Noosa now and it’s ludicrous!!
Hoping that after the holidays things settle down but I'm not holding my breath! It's so hard just picking up a click and collect at coles now lol carparks are crazy
Yea it’s madness!! We specifically book Gold Coast outside holidays, but now they’ve been pushed back 2 weeks 🤦♂️
Hey when are you guys back on?
Hey! What do you mean back on?! Lol
Hi,
What time of year did you go? Do you think August would be to cold
Hi Jules. We were there in November so it was hot, but depends on what you think cold is. August is likely to be low to mid 20s, so to me (a Brit!) that is a lovely temperature 😝. Does that help?
What month were you there?
Hey guys - we were there in early December ☺️
Hey Chris what was the name of that caravan park in Yeppoon? Was it the nudist one? Hehe
Lol no it wasn’t hahaha! It was called Island View Caravan Park, really nice surprise, a great little caravan park! 👍
@@StaycationOz are you sure? Hehe
Haha would’ve been a rubbish nudist park if it was haha
Don't bother going to kepel if you have mobility problems .. they dump you in the middle of no where and you have to walk a couple of klm to get to civilization, no good if your elderly or handi capped in any way .
Yes - very good point!!
