What you have constructed is called a net house, as you probably know. Very popular in Africa and India. I've been promoting them here in South Carolina. They really make all the difference. I've seen people growing citrus perfectly fine in Florida under the dappled shade of live oak trees. The companion planting and diverse mix of plants keeps the trees healthier.

I keep lavender around my citrus when it's outside.
I'm doing indoor during cold months, outdoor during warm months here in the Denver area. All my citrus is in container pots.
