When is the meet and greet
The meet and greet will be week 2 against Pittsburgh
What Zachary said. It'll be September 15, Week 2. Broncos vs. Steelers.
@@MileHighHuddle that's freaking awesome 😎 good to know
One of those 3 qbs won't make it to ps, someone will pluck em beforehand
And why would Broncos put a quarterback who is making $10 million per year (i.e. Jarrett Stidham) on the practice squad? That would be stupid. Also, it's doubtful Stidham would make it through waivers without being picked up by another team.
He isn't making $10 million per year. His whole contract was worth $10 million. Thus year he counts $7 million against the salary cap, but you can cut him and save $5 million against the salary cap.
A team would have to pick up that contract if the Broncos waive him, and it's doubtful a team will want to pick it up. Every year fans fear a QB getting picked up but they clear waivers 99% of the time.
@Etrickify that is what I meant. But point which you missed is why would the team put a guy they are paying $7 million a year on the practice squad? That would be dumb and I can't recall a team ever doing that.
@richardlamb8926 they're not paying him $7 million per year either. He counts that much this year. Cutting him saves them $5 million against the salary cap so instead of costing $7 million he would cost $2 million as dead money. That wouldn't be his practice squad contract either so they wouldn't be paying him that much if he was on the practice squad. They would be paying him less than $250 thousand with the practice squad contract.
In this case, Stidham would be waived and clear waivers. Thats the end of the contract that has him with $7 million against the salary cap this year ($1 million of it was paid to him last year and is prorated). When he signs back to the practice squad, it would be for a practice squad contract, which pays $12,500 per week. No team has ever paid a player $7 million to be on the practice squad, because practice squad contracts don't pay that much. Two different contracts.
@Etrickify I doubt right on who stays.
