exactly, when there are comparisons between eras, they have to think how tough and violent it was at that time and what Maradona had been through during his career when he had the ball at his legs. With today's soft game where players are being protected from violent defences against them, Maradona would have turned today's football into a circus.

@@ashok5591 I think Maradona wanted to put performance that was all time memorable. He seemed to be in great shape, and I don't think that he was lacking fitness. I remember the commentator said that, that Maradona said before the match that he would play as much as he wanted to play. Against Greece he came off because they didn't really need him anymore in that game. Against Nigeria he played the whole game. He played brilliantly in both games and was indeed influential in both games. Thus he appeared to be pacing himself for the latter and most crucial matches. How great it would have been to have seen him go all the way. Fifa denied us that luxury, as we all know. And we'll never know what his outcome would have been at the end. Such a great shame for football!!!!

..It was his touch his playmaking that was incredible

@@efrainmedina7764 estoy de acuerdo. Y, luego de haber visto tantos videos del Diego y Leo, (además de tener la suerte de haberlos visto jugar a ambos) llegué a la siguiente conclusión. Messi es más capaz de bailar a más jugadores y crear un gol solo...eludiendo 4 o 5 y mucho mejor goleador. (Maradona no se queda tan atrás, podía eludir a 3 o 4 jugadores) Pero el Diego es mucho veces más lírico entre chilena, rabona, tiros libres, pechito, jueguitos y hasta definiendo, pero no tan efectivo goleador cono Lionel. Ni uno es mejor que el otro. Son iguales pero diferentes. Y ambos generadores de juego con pases increíbles
