That's not bombing, that's just technical difficulties. Bombing is when people actually hear your jokes and sit silently or boo you, or shout "get the hell off the stage!" lol.
Bombing is just when a comedian has a bad show. If u ask me Jerry raises a prominant question; What is the worst kind of bombing? Hiroshima. Yes, hands down. But I mean whats REALLY worse? Being awful and everyone remembering you as a loser, or not being remembered at all? If you think about it, its really not self-evident.
Jerry, back in about 1985 you did a show on campus at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. You made some comments about how serious my boyfriend looked, and he started to stand up to come after you. (He was a criminology major, 6'4" 225 lb weight lifter, had social anxiety.) I had to beg him to sit down and tell him you were just doing a routine. Ha. You looked a little scared and apologized. He sat down and enjoyed the show. We both did. Thank you!
He bombed because nobody heard him. It's as if to say, "If anybody who heard what I was saying, I would not have bombed." This is the kind of "humility" that narcissists exhibit. He's supposed to tell us his lowest moment, but it's not actually a low moment in terms of his performance.
This is actually correct. He couldn't find any other set he performed through the decades, where he he had the audience's full attention and still sucked? This came across a bit self-protective and insecure.
+Piecrab dude, comedians are entertainers, they picked this job because they *crave* attention. to just be completely ignored by the crowd is probably worse than being heckled.
I think he didn't bomb at all. Comedians bombed because their material is not that good. He's material was okay ( i think ), the problem was not him was the place. So..
Haha, I like that The Roots are playing in the background. The disco did not turn off the music as Jerry spoke and nor did the editor(s) of this video.
Hes so full of himself it doesnt suprise me that he would share a story where he wasent actually to blame. Nobody talks about how great jerry Seinfeld is more than jerry Seinfeld
Yeah, the moment I saw the title I knew "yeah there's no way in hell Seinfeld's actually going to have the sense of humour to actually depricate himself".
Always wanted Jerry to finish up his show by doing a 10th season because I wanted to know what the four characters were going to do after they got out a year in jail?
What's sad is I don't find him very funny most times, but the left handed punchline actually made me laugh... He was obviously much funnier 20 years ago. Not so much now. Too many edgy comedians out there with better styles that fit the times.
Don't feel sad, Strikerage, more than enough people find him to be very funny- like $950,000, 000 worth of people. That's how much Jerry is currently worth!! Still feel sad for him???
Ha,Ha, He said the music was so loud it sounded like you were inside a human heart, lol. I've done stand-up before and there are a thousand ways to bomb. This is true!
Jerry says, "you feel like you're inside a human heart," which is appropriate because Staying Alive has the same beats per minute as they recommend for chest compressions when you're dying . . . but so does Another Bites the Dust. The lesson for comedians: pick a song.
A similar scenario like this also happened to the stand up comic Bill Hicks. I watched an interview with Kevin Matthews where Hicks talked about it. In that interview, Hicks stated that in the early 1980's he was booked to perform at a disco in baton rouge louisana. Hicks said that when the crowded disco realised that he was on the mic doing stand up comedy they immediately started throwing stuff at him and chased him out of the club. I still have the entire 10 minute video interview stored on a usb memory stick at home and Hicks also talks about other times where he bombed. Also, the other comic who was with him that night was Ron Shock. Shock gave an interview in the late 1990's and he actually confirmed the incident in a separate video interview. Seinfelds incident was not really bombing on stage as no-one even knew that he was performing. Weird.
I saw his video was 2 minutes long while the average "Worst I ever bombed" videos are 4 minutes long and I knew he wasnt going to admit he ever bombed. He's too prideful. I mean this guy has used the phrase "Do you know who I AM? My show was #1. Blah blah blah."
Hey Jerry! This is not what it means to bomb. When you bomb people boo you, no one laughs at your jokes, they end your set early, you said yourself they didn't even know you were up there.
Jerry, published a little bit he did as practice at some little club where he bombed...a lady in the crowd even jokingly asked if he was new at this...he must have better examples. He's one of my favorites ♥️
a real bomb story would have been better than a shitty gig story. i'm not trying to hate, but i feel like the point of this segment is to encourage young comedians that even the greats perform badly sometimes or don't click with a particular audience. in this case Jerry is saying he performed fine but the circumstances were bad. Louis CK has bomb stories that are effective in the way i'm describing, as have many others who've done this segment for Jimmy.
Is that even bombing? I thought bombing was that people didn’t find your standup funny, not that didn’t even know you were there. This feels like a bit of a cop out.
I played an ALL Assyrian wedding gig like that once (classical guitar). I swear the dishwashers got more respect than i did at that gig and I wasn't even being paid! If you ever get invited to perform at an ASSYRIAN WEDDING, my advice is to RUN, NOT WALK in the opposite direction. I will NOT BE FUN, OR even PAID.
If sound people or managers think you're not very good, they'll keep the house music up or not activate your mic. Eventually you realize it's not accidental. THAT is a bomb in a way, because you're being nose-thumbed by the staff. I just move on from places like that. If I was good, then they missed out that night and all future performances.
Leave it to Jerry to say that he bombed when he couldn't be heard. That's the venue bombing and he knows it. No Jerry, you bombed in your last Netflix special.
That’s a non answer lol. He doesn’t want to admit he ever told jokes that people heard and didn’t like. This is like a job interview “my weakness is I care too much”
I don’t think I’d call that bombing. There was really nothing he could do, and hey, at least people weren’t actively listening to a terrible set, which I’d imagine is much worse.
Now do Kramer!!!
+ViperFoe "The worst I bombed was when this black guy was heckling me and finally I had enough so..."
+ViperFoe
It'll be even funnier if that wasn't the worst he ever bombed.
+Studeb oh, just stop it! :) Actually, I'm not sure that was a bomb at all. Edgy? Oh yeah.
+ViperFoe oh, shit that got me laughing so hard
+ViperFoe hahaha brillaint
I LOVE Jerry and love watching him even talk. But whenever he talks about bombing it's always when it wasnt him actually bombing.
That's not bombing, that's just technical difficulties. Bombing is when people actually hear your jokes and sit silently or boo you, or shout "get the hell off the stage!" lol.
Yes. If your ego, or body, was not injured during the performance by irate audience members, you didn't bomb.
the man doesn't bomb, has to make shit up like this
Damn Damn James I was going to say the same thing haha he just makes it sound like he's never really *bombed* bombed
Watch early Jerry...its bombing on the highest of levels
iSN'T IT GREAT NOT TO hAVE THAT Fallon Laugh fucking shit up?????
Hahaha you're so funny repeating what every fucking 8 year old on UA-cam has already said
Jerry, back in about 1985 you did a show on campus at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. You made some comments about how serious my boyfriend looked, and he started to stand up to come after you. This is actually correct. He couldn't find any other set he performed through the decades, where he he had the audience's full attention and still sucked? This came across a bit self-protective and insecure.
He's said that he hasn't really bombed that hard through his career though. So what's he supposed to do? Make something up?
Jerry Seinfeld is extremely egotistical in interviews
@@JD_tcb He made a documentary called ‘Comedian’ where in it he bombs with dead silence. And this was years after his show
@@JD_tcb
The problem is, we all know he bombed probably multiple times.
I don’t think Jerry understood the question.
Sounds more like one of the easiest times I made 100 dollars
+Tee OB Troo, but it's still a bomb lmao
+Patrickmen11 He didn't bomb at all. He just stood in a room and nobody noticed he was there. If you've ever bombed, you know the difference.
+Piecrab dude, comedians are entertainers, they picked this job because they *crave* attention. to just be completely ignored by the crowd is probably worse than being heckled.
+iseeicyicetea Ok that is stupid, go on stage and bomb. That the only way you can understand. Humiliation > being Ignored....
I think he didn't bomb at all. Comedians bombed because their material is not that good. He's material was okay ( i think ), the problem was not him was the place. So..
Cant wait to see Michael Richards on this segment hahaha
"Afro-Americans".
This story is the worst you ever bombed jerry..
Haha, I like that The Roots are playing in the background. The disco did not turn off the music as Jerry spoke and nor did the editor(s) of this video.
Can’t even tell us his bombing experience...
“Oh I didn’t know you were on”
“No, nobody did” 😂😂😂
That is not bombing. That's easy money.
The fact nobody is listening is not hard either. Ive had the awkward silence. Thats bombing.
Hes so full of himself it doesnt suprise me that he would share a story where he wasent actually to blame. Nobody talks about how great jerry Seinfeld is more than jerry Seinfeld
Seinfelds probably the biggest dick I could possibly think of when it comes to comedians
No clue why this guy is so beloved
Ahhahahah truth
He sucks..bad. the show is just ok in retrospect too
@@JoeyActionTV Idk man I think Louis c.k is a little worse. But I agree Seinfelds a complete egotistical moron.
Yeah, the moment I saw the title I knew "yeah there's no way in hell Seinfeld's actually going to have the sense of humour to actually depricate himself".
Wow he looks great for 120 yrs old!
When he told jokes to the hospital patient, I remember that episode.
I've seen the bit about being left handed, it's gold Jerry, gold.
I guess that's the worse I ever bombed too. Cause I wasn't there either.
Buahahaha..... Everybody "LEFT;" that was great.
HA HA. Well you got the 100 bucks. That's what counts.
He's probably not reading the comments, you know
HA HA i like you, Jerry! We should hang out sometime. You like coffee?
Tell Jerry I said hi and that I think his show was funny.
Your mom
I hate being left handed cause when people are no longer at a party, it's because they "left!"
That's gold Jerry! Pure gold!
They should call it roundtine
Always wanted Jerry to finish up his show by doing a 10th season because I wanted to know what the four characters were going to do after they got out a year in jail?
And Newman is their Parole Officer
Roots covering Beatnuts' "Let Off a Couple". I wish they could record it and release it, I'd have it on repeat the rest of my life!
What? That's not bombing, that's free money! The worst I ever bombed everyone staring at me in silence as I freeeaked out.
Even the king of comedy had rough days. Very inspirational
I guess thats the point of these videos.. Jimmy just wants to inspire :)
Jimmys the best! I knew he was going to be huge on his early years of SNL
I think every comedian is pretty bad when they first start out, it's just one of those jobs that the only to get good at it is to learn on the job
👏
Talking about Rupert Pupkin?
That's not even bombing!!!! Bombing is when everyone KNOWS you're there and doesn't laugh
This guy such a legend that even when he bombs, he doesn't really *bomb*
What's sad is I don't find him very funny most times, but the left handed punchline actually made me laugh...
He was obviously much funnier 20 years ago. Not so much now. Too many edgy comedians out there with better styles that fit the times.

i laughed at the "they left" joke
It's New year's Eve 2019 right now. That tripped me out after smoking one
The fuck is a left-handed compliment? It's a back-handed compliment.
It's surprising that he didn't say "everything he's done since the 90s"
I guess you could say they LEFT the music on
I'm left speechless, because that joke came totally out of left field.
***** Well this conversation took a left turn.
👏
Excuse me, I left something here.
He left with a $100, adjusting for inflation should equal the cost of an entire neighborhood in Detroit.
The only time he bombed because people weren't listening, can you imagine man
Ha,Ha, He said the music was so loud it sounded like you were inside a human heart, lol. I've done stand-up before and there are a thousand ways to bomb. This is true!
$100 and all the coke you could snort in 4 hrs. You forgot to mention that...
Jerry Seinfeld is as witty, brilliant and tough a comedian as they come. Huge inspiration for me.
Jerry says, "you feel like you're inside a human heart," which is appropriate because Staying Alive has the same beats per minute as they recommend for chest compressions when you're dying . . . but so does Another Bites the Dust. The lesson for comedians: pick a song.
First I was afraid…..I was petrified
well, every time i see the "worst i ever bombed" usually it is not worthed watching. this one YEAH!!! Jerry Seinfeld?! wohooo
I love Jerry’s material, but his ego is so high he can’t even state a real bomb of a show
Eli Armas right? This is not a bomb
That was an exciting story Jer.
A similar scenario like this also happened to the stand up comic Bill Hicks.

Weird.
Not being heard and bombing are two different things. You weren't rejected.
As long as he's done comedy, you know he's bombed worse than that. But this one just made for the best story, bet that's why hell tells it.
Jimmy Fallon: Worst you ever bombed?
Jerry Seinfeld: I wasn't even there.
So, in other words, he never bombed, he never bombs, he never will bomb.
since I am 21 years old....nice grammar there jerry.
I bet I can guess what K-K-Kramer's worst bombing was
Arguably, bombing requires an audience to be aware of the comedian but choosing not to laugh
The worst he ever bombed was the Seinfeld finale.
So that's why Jerry "LOVES" ABBA's "Dancing Queen".
Not sure I'd call that a bomb - bombing is when people *are* listening but not laughing.
hey, didnt this guy play kramer in seinfeld?
Uh
+CanadianRM4 no kramer is the bald guy. jerry was the guy who said racist stuff to the blacks
+fdggfgdfgd WOW!!! I almost didn't recognize him without the Mailman costume. God he's lost a lot of weight!!
+Shamic Entertainment No, I think he played drums for that band Kanye discovered, the beatles
Are you stupid? He played Elaine.

He's one of my favorites ♥️
the time Jerry was struggling and the woman asked if he was new was actually captured on video and featured in the documentary "Comedian".
a real bomb story would have been better than a shitty gig story. i'm not trying to hate, but i feel like the point of this segment is to encourage young comedians that even the greats perform badly sometimes or don't click with a particular audience. in this case Jerry is saying he performed fine but the circumstances were bad.

Yeah that's not bombing...

Wow, his story is almost exactly like Jeff Foxworthy's bomb story.
I need that love seat chair thing in my possession ASAP
I played an ALL Assyrian wedding gig like that once (classical guitar). I swear the dishwashers got more respect than i did at that gig and I wasn't even being paid! If you ever get invited to perform at an ASSYRIAN WEDDING, my advice is to RUN, NOT WALK in the opposite direction. I will NOT BE FUN, OR even PAID.
Love the Mackinaw blanket decor
He bombs every time it’s not Seinfeld
I wouldn't say this is the worst he ever bombed as much as the worst gig he ever done. The difference being the blame is on the venue.
That doesn't actually sound like bombing and completely wasn't your fault. Someone had to know you were on and disliked it for you to have bombed.
This isn't really bombing if nobody heard you and, therefore, nobody rejected you. You spoke into a microphone for a few minutes and got paid.

That’s a non answer lol. He doesn’t want to admit he ever told jokes that people heard and didn’t like. This is like a job interview “my weakness is I care too much”
Am I the only one who actually laughed at his left joke?
Bomb? 100 bucks to speak for 20 minutes and no one notices? I want that job.
I don’t think I’d call that bombing. There was really nothing he could do, and hey, at least people weren’t actively listening to a terrible set, which I’d imagine is much worse.
I’ve seen him bomb worse than that story in the Comedian documentary.
That's a funny left hand joke.
Wait......Seinfeld was born in 1955, I don't believe that lol
Good, because he was born in 1954.
Might be his worst set but it's not fair to call it bombing when nobody heard, or even tried, to hear him do his act.
I felt so bad
This is funnier than his normal material
dear jerry... that does not count as bombing!!!
happy festivus
I love Jerry Seinfeld!
Thats not a rough bomb. That sounds easier than bombing.
What's the deal with disco? Is it a company making discs? Then why do they dance under a ball?
"uhUUHhuhuh I was doooing my parrot joke for the 209289th time and someone didn't find it funny"
Why is this guy considered a comedy genius?
Humility from Jerry Seinfeld?
Jerry bombed in this video.
Meaning - Seinfeld has never bombed in the real sense of the term, like this time, the problem was really that noone heard him because of the noise. 🙂
You got paid. How bad could it be?
Jerry Seinfeld, biggest ego award
Yes Jerry Seinfeld
How was communication with the audio engineer.
Worst Seinfeld Ever Bombed? Every night.
Jeez it's like everyone really wants Seinfeld to bomb, like literally die on stage from a heart attack. Only then would they laugh.
That man is 60 years old O.o
What's the name of the Roots song playing in this?
The 2 blondes went on a road trip to San Fransisco, but went home because the sign said San Fransisco left.
