I'm Lucio, from Brazil, and I think to learn English through movies is an excellent way to improve speaking. First, I try to understand and then I repeat the speaches as many times as I think I need .Thanks.
Ihave spent many years for studying English, now intonation is the biggest barrier to me. I am so glad that I found your channel occasionally and it is useful for improving my speaking ability.
Thanks Rachel, you're definitely doing a great job with your videos, I studied at an English school for 10 months, but the teacher never taught me how to speak like this. I mean "linking sounds" and I think that's the most important thing to do when you're learning a language. Because people speak in this way, I remember when I had my first conversation with a person from the U.S.A. I wasn't able to understand at all, cause, he spoke very fast and using a lot of linking sounds. And when you speak like this it sounds more natural and fluent. Once again thanks Rachel, keep it up. Greetings from Honduras.
I finally ramp up my understanding capacity of American accent in the films and series in the support of these amazing videos. I can't thank you enough Rachel!!!
I often listen to this Yutube slowdown(75%,50%,sometimes to 25%), and I imitate to pronunce. The importance is imitating the rhythm of a whole sentence. Rachel English is the treasure of us, we can learn a lot from it . Thank you very much.
No other English teacher on UA-cam has ever inspired me like you. Your analysis of the spoken English is really great. I have watched videos of other teachers of English but they aren't as clear and helpful as yours. I really appreciate your unrivaled method. You're my favorite teacher.
Hi Rachel, Imitating what actors say in the movies is good for the beginners like me but what makes me so passionate to learn English are songs .One of the songs I prefer to show its lyrics is " Hard to concentrate " sung by Red hot chely peppers . Thank you
We ' re on the same page.Rachel helps us a lot to understand native Americans in movies I even watch now lifetime Americans movies without subtitles. And I can underestand 70 Percent of what they say.
