Tabs with an oscillating saw makes that cutting tabs way less risky. Beautiful again!
Andy, I've been in Commercial Casework for over 30 years and have built hundreds of projects in my time. The reception in this video is exceptional. Design, joinery, and fabrication is as good as I have ever seen. Great job, I have used and own many of the tools in your shop. I am at 71 now jobs like this are for you younger maker's, my projects these days are limited to size. That was a lot of work for that brass detail under the desk no will appreciate. I love the walnut detail on the front.
30 years as a cabinet maker, and I'm in awe of your work, great job!
I really enjoy your videos Andy and very sorry about the loss of your Mayer the dog!
Andy, great work as usual.
A couple tips that have helped me with veneering in a vacuum bag:
1. Titebond cold press glue. Has a higher viscosity and longer open time than original titebond.
2. For flat glue ups, 1/4” melamine works well as a caul and the glue won’t stick. Horizontal grade plastic laminate works well on curved parts to put between the veneer and caul material to help prevent sticking.
Great work, well done on showing the little mistakes. Good to remind everyone that nobody builds complicated custom projects with no errors.
What a superb piece Andy, really enjoyed that. Very grateful that you think of those of us that dont have Instagram, look forward to seeing it in its finished position. I bet it looks magnificent, you did such a beautiful job and your little helper was invaluable: "Here - are - the screws."🧑🎨👏 Jud is adorable, he'll be strong enough to be your right hand man with the heavy lifting before you know it! Hope he retains that enthusiasm as he grows.🤗
Stunning build!! And congrats on your adorable new addition!! 🐾🐾
Do it all to the Glory of God - May He bless you and keep you Andy. Great work as always. Much inspiration for my next (humble) project.
brilliant piece of art posing as furniture
2:47 i have a lot of clamps. I recently did an old desk repair where i glued a custom cut oak top veneer (about 4 mm thick) to replace the heavily damaged face of the desk. Upon clamping everything down i sat down and bought more clamps. :) You never have, "enough" clamps, where enough stands in for infinity, probably.
Andy, again, a great peace. Your designing is really getting into another level, in my opinion. This end result is really awesome! Great job!
Beautiful piece. Amazing that you were able to do it alone...well, except for Jud.
Your screws were not straight because you were spending quality time with your child. Fantastic work as always!
Hi Andy... my name is Peter and I am a qualified woodworker from England... just wanted to say nice work... and when I have done veneer work I used battons to lay the veneer across the work to help me position it as I glued it into place if that makes sense and is of any use to you. Good job on restoring the bandsaw Sir.
Great advice thanks for sharing!
Incredible skill, very nice looking build, great job!
Beautiful piece of furniture!! Thanks for sharing.
Get ready to change the logo! AJ Rawls!
You say 45 minutes like it's a bad thing. :)) Always welcome sight to see a AR video that's long, in my subscriptions page. Even if YT absconded this video and i hadn't seen it when it was posted nor got notified about it.
I always hate when a project starts off with veneer, but it usually finishes with a chef’s kiss 😚 🤌🏻
WOW!!! Thissssss is what I wanna seeee
nice work
Andy keep up the great work
Just beautiful! A labour of love.
Very nice, your constant work ethic is impressive.just continue doing what you do best and carry on.nice looking piece.what happened to Robert, though he was set there.great video as always 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Excellent. Well done.
you could use a router with a slot cutting bit to make your lock mortises if you don't mind them a bit wide. Beautiful desk
Great idea and thanks!
That's beautiful, Andy. How is Robert doing in his new endeavor? I hope you two are still friends.
Bill
Nice work Andy. Where is your helper, Robert?
It was a bit disappointing not to see pics of the desk completed, but from the video Andy, it looks very unique and labor-intensive. What happened to Bob? I'm sure you could have used an extra set of hands during this build. So many different materials used to create a one of a kind piece. Well done Andy. Cheers from this old, retired coot living the dream in Tennessee.
Thanks and sorry I didn’t have finished shots. I’ll share them once I have it all setup. Robert has moved in to work for himself
@@AndyRawls I can't wait to see it all completed and installed. Again Andy, great work.
Top notch work as always. Awesome 😎
Great job. Looks fantastic.
HI Andy, what happened to Robert?
He left to start his own business last fall.
Is Robert no longer working with you?
Looking for that info as well, just noticed
Awesome
Thanks for the video.
Very nice ! Andy
What flavor of plywood are you using for the substrate? It looks "voidless". As I'm sure you already know that Baltic Birch is in short supply....I'm always amazed that some US manufacturer hasn't capitalized on the need for high ply voidless plywood. Is it Marine grade?
Nice work. What is the thickness of the brass you’re using?
So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Nice job as usual, but what happened to your employee worker?
great video
Whatever happened to Robert?? Haven’t seen him in awhile
He started his own business in October of last year.
Nice one! Weird not to show the finished product though.
Sorry. I promise I will share photos once I get it all setup.
Andy, the build looks great, not an easy feet considering the fact that it's a big table. I have to ask what happened with the guy who moved across the country to work and learn from you 🤔.
As alway's buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
Thanks! He left to start his own shop last year.
@AndyRawls wow, I didn't see that coming. Hayho it's a good thing you're little fella and you're dad are there to help 😌.
Does your shop have AC? Great work 👍
Do you have a link to those locks?

I also like to know what happened to Rob
My 18lb Dachshund is a better guard dog than my 60lb Staffy/Pit mix. Poor girl is afraid of our neighbors grill.
Andy, This was Great, I have been away for a while medical issues. I know you may have addressed this but Where has Robert gone?? Thank you & God Bless 🙏🙏🇺🇸📐🔨🪚👨🏻🦯
