I enjoyed this so much, as this seems to be the same approach we use coming in from connections either in Paris, or Frankfurt. I love to see the red tile roofs; I know I'm back in beautiful Istanbul. Thank you
I think there was no wifi, but usually there is internet connection possiblity with a cable, though i never tried. Turkish Airlines has B777-300ER, which is bigger i think. I love both, although my favorite aircraft seems to be B777. If only i could travel with it :)
cok seyi anliyorum da bu alkis olayi nedir abi bi biz türklerde var bu olay.. kac kez istanbula indim de yanimdaki almanlarin saskin suratina mahruz kaldim adamlar neye ugradini sasirdi.. :)
Samet Colak tam aksine hocam yabancilardan bize gecen bisey hemde guzel bisey tarifi yerindeyse pilotu tebrik etme yontemi sert bir inis yapan pilotu kimse alkislamaz
Does the pilot take a bow? Do the passengers throw flowers and yell bravo? Maybe the flight attendants should dress up like ushers and flash the lights prior to the curtain call. Is there some place they can land the plane for the intermission, like a hub city? Applauding after a flight still seems pretty silly to me.
I still think it's silly. If I were a passenger on that plane, I would feel embarrassed for the other passengers who applauded. I realize that it's a cultural thing, but there's a lot of silly cultural things in every country. If the people really thought about how ridiculous it makes them look, they would stop doing it immediately.
I'm required to applaud, because I'm not a licensed pilot? That makes no sense! The fact that passengers are required to pay money for their airfare is quite sufficient. If you really feel strongly about how well your flight was, you can always thank the crew when exiting the aircraft and wish them a nice day. People who clap at the end of a flight are confusing aviation with performing arts. Piloting a passenger jet is not some circus side show.
Yes. I have a problem with it. Do you have a problem with free speech? Do you want to beat a dead horse? Yes, I think it's dumb to applaud every time a plane lands. Do you applaud every time a train pulls into the station? Do you applaud whenever you park your car? Do you get out of the car and then take a bow and wait for people to throw flowers at you? Do you applaud every time you flush the toilet? It's not necessary to applaud every time a plane lands. If you're still doing it, stop it now, because people will think you're crazy.

They may want to delay the applause. Most incidents occur during taxiing. It is a beautiful practice however. Please continue.

Why do some people clap when they land? It's not like someone just sang an aria.
At turkish airlines its normal its a way to say 'thank you' :)
