Lukasz Palka is the most underated modern Street Photographer right now. I've been doing street shots for the 6 years myself, and seeing many street photographer channel in youtube, not one comes close in terms of information, tips and tricks compare to Lukasz's. I mean he is shooting w Nikon D4, which for many is a big No No!, many prefers mirrorless cam, leicas, etc nowadays. But, he shows us that is not the camera that counts. Its all about respect, ethics, framing, & the drive to achieve that 1 great shot. Very well done guys!!!
Wow, that is extremely high praise! Thank you so much! It's so satisfying to meet like-minded people like yourself here on UA-cam. It's been a very fulfilling journey so far!! :)
This video is absolutely amazing! A lot of helpful tips and information for street photography. The D4 is definitely an underated beast and I'd say it's still have the edge compared to nowadays well advanced cameras
Everything on this channel has always had a great attention to detail, but this video specifically was really smooth and calming. It really just felt like hanging out taking photos in the street (something not possible in a lot of places right now). Everything is so crisp and clean. I could watch this stuff all day!
Thank you very much!! We got a proper gimbal and shooting on the Z6II made the quality go up. I also cut it to include a bit more 'silence,' just walking and taking in the scenery. The high quality footage helps justify this (compared to the older video we shot on a phone). Part coming soon! :)

It is great in low light! Even today it compares well to the latest the cameras. From a 5D you will see a huge improvement in low light performance, in my opinion. :)
Ive owned the d4s in the past; incredible camera. As incredible as these bodies are, what are your thoughts on the fact that they can't be serviced anymore by Nikon.
It sucks, which is why I barely use my D4. I also have a D3 whose shutter died shortly after Nikon ended service. That was very unlucky. So, now my D4 is no longer a daily driver. :)
I love the look of the D4. How much did you edit the colours? I have the Nikon Df which is supposed to have the same sensor and it looks very much like your photos.
Yeah, they have the same sensor, which is one of Nikon's best sensors ever in terms of color and low light performance. I edit all of my photos but I try not to take a heavy handed approach. I just adjust the basic contrast sliders and make sure the white balance is exactly where I want it for each image.

Great review ! at 6:10 you can use a 24-70 VR and you're good to go with lower ISO !!! That's my strategy staying in the DSLR game ! use VR lenses to compensate the lack of IBIS that we find in Mirror Less Great video ...
Yeah, absolutely! I thought about getting one, but eventually I got a Z6 so got the Z mount 24-70 instead. VR is great for night photography like this!
Good job!. Never used 3D tracking on my d750. I’m going to order a Z6ii with 24-70 f4 and FTZ Adapter. How does the 24-70 2.8 G compare to the Z 24-70 f4? I have the 24-70 G. Thank you
From what I've seen from Z users on the Nikon Z DPreview forum, the Z 24-70 f4 is regarded as being a lot sharper corner to corner than the F mount f2.8 equilivents only being bested by the Z 24-70 f2.8. I shoot with the Z 24-70 f4 and love the sharpness.
The 24-70 f/4 Z is fantastic! I rented it for a few days and was blown away with the quality. And it's a very small and lightweight lens. I believe this is possible thanks to the new mount. I feel Nikon has a lot of amazing potential with this new mount! :)
That's awesome! I took my D4 for a shoot the other day after a loooong time with the mirrorless Nikons... and man it still holds up. It's a fun camera to use. The shutter sound is pure bliss! :)
Just a personal opinion, but wouldn't the 24-70 VR lens be more suited for night photography than the G lens shown in the video? (especially on a D4 where there is no IBIS)
Yes, totally! But I bought my 24-70 when the VR version just came out. Mine was also second-hand, so I paid something like 1200 USD for it while the VR one was maybe over 2k... I don't recall. Anyway, it was the 'budget' choice. My D4 is also second-hand. I got it for something like 3k at the time (2016). I generally buy everything second-hand. My Z6II is the first new camera I ever bought (except for my Ricoh GR II, but that's quite low price by comparison).
We used a gimbal, specifically the DJI Ronin SC for this video. Since then we've upgraded to a DJI RSC2, which we've been using on more recent videos. :)
Honestly, no particular preference. I'd just say I like both. I open them up in Bridge which ignores the built-in camera profiles, so it's not really SOOC anymore. On the other hand, while viewing on the camera itself, the Z6 looks better, but that's just because the back LCD is much better than the one on the D4. However, for editing, I would say the D4 files are easier to work with. But, despite this, I can definitely achieve more with the Z6 raw files in terms of dynamic range and color. Overall, I'm happy to work with the new files!
Thanks a lot for these great videos. I ve got similar gear as you expect of the Z6 II, i ve got the I. I love booth cams. I wanna do same photos and videos here in Vienna.
