Hi Ben. It may be your VR headset being blurry but usually the case most people find is that it’s a good indication you need to get your eyes tested to see if you need glasses. This was the case with me.
I have perfect vision and find that device to be blurry all the time. There's a screen door effect that older VR headsets have. If he had a newer unit, it would be a different story.
Cool video. If you want a higher resolution vr experience you'll have to upgrade from your htc vive. Even a $300 quest 2 should be a good upgrade in resolution.
Had the VIVE and now have the Quest 2. Quest 2 is better in everything. Only the tracking is like 5% better with Steam Lighthouse, but the Oculus tracking is just fine for all games.
Cant friggin wait to play this game in VR, I bought my Pimax 8Kx for games like this, the super wide FOV it has should be incredible, I found 2021 very good, better handling and FFB compared to 2020, 2019 was decent too, but too easy compared to the last two, 2021 is my fav so far, but in now F1 22 in VR, I'm counting the days like a child!
Idk if this is too late but, when the game's out what are you gonna play?? are you gonna do a mix of vr and normal...and how will you do career mode? (in vr or not)
it will blow your mind.... looking someone playing vr is nice and you think that must be cool, but playing the first time in VR is absolute amazing. I bought my Reverb G2 on Christmas 2020, and even now, if i cant play for a week and returning in a car or flying a plane in MS flight simulator, I can't belive how imersive this shit is. My wifes favorite game is Half-Life Alyx, also an absolute great game. Get a good pc and headset, its worth every cent you'll paying for, you will never play without it
Very cool. I've had headtracking the last couple of years and it looks pretty much the same as your video. But I bet the depth must be awesome with the actual headset on, probably easier to gage distances speed and braking better. Glad to see the audio is improved over last year.
I think the headset quality is down to the headset youre using. If that's the OG Vive, it wont be too clear because of screendoor effect. The only fixes Codies need to make are with the Engineer not triggering with SC and last lap notifications when it should. It relies too much on expecting you to be using the HUD I think.
You're right the pixelation and some of the blurring will be an older headset, but it could also be that he's a tiny bit shortsighted. Not so much that it's noticeable in normal life, but in VR the screens are right infront of your eyes, so if you're a little bit shortsighted, it'll have a much greater effect. If anyone wears glasses and wants to use VR, you can get special prescription lens inserts online that are fantastic. I was playing VR with contact lenses that were from an older prescription that I was perfectly fine to use day to day (and when driving IRL) and it was a bit blurry, then I got lens inserts with a new prescription that was only very slightly different from my old one, and the difference in the headset was night and day.
Perhaps they need to do something more with teh wheel display to show the safety car. Ben said he had no idea where he was in the field, but that's on the wheel, so safety car probably needs to be too.
It’s not your headset. One of of your eyes is probably near or far sighted. You wouldn’t notice that when not in VR since your eyes will balance naturally. It’s because each eye has a screen.
I would imagine its no better than other games, and that's not really a fault of the games. It just pretty much every VR headset these days has a low pixel density (atleast for how close our eyes are to the screens in the headset)
VR really needs 8k and 120hz. We’re a few years off from computation power for that. Maybe the Nvidia 5080/5090. Can you imagine 8k 120hz with Ray tracing!
VR killed playing on screen for me. I'm really hyped for the new game. I don't care about the MTX stuff, I only want to play the MyTeam mode and have fun.
@@handaniel11 1. Not quite good enough. 2. It's a stand-alone thing, and I want a PC VR thing. 3. Facebook............. 4. Zuckerberg.......... I might get an HP Reverb G2, it's just that they're all sold out until October, everywhere. :/ I considered the Vive Pro 2, but they apparently get extremely warm, and they have nasty halo effects. Valve Index seemed good until I saw a comparison and realized you can't even read text in the Valve Index because it has too low resolution. :P ...and the controllers apparently keep breaking, extremely frequently.
@@da_flore3746 Yes, the G2 v2 or the Omnicept Edition (much more expensive for little gain) are quite clearly the best in that price range. You'd have to get a Varjo Aero for $2'000 to get something that's clearly better. Pimax has strong downsides, I've heard, so while they have impressive displays, it doesn't quite make up for it, especially at that price point.
Here's the simple answer. What's your priority? If it's primarily PCVR like sim racing, go HP Reverb G2. If you want a stand-alone (and fully wireless) VR system that has dozens of games available and decent (but not great) PCVR connectivity, Quest 2. Unless your budget is higher than $500, then you get into Pimax and Index range.
@@lucas5867 compared to the Vive, it's night and day difference. Just make sure you're using the USB C cable to connect to the PC, as the WiFi sharing is a crap if you don't have a decent access point due to the bandwidth required.
I wonder what motion sickness is going to be like for me. So far my only VR racing experience is a few laps in ACC, and that was all I could do before I started feeling unsteady. And ACC has a massively restricted FOV out the car because of the windshield, which helps a lot. I can't imagine I'd be able to last very long in this game. Still, excited to give it a go, although I expect I won't do it very often.
Just drive to the Point where you get unwell and call it quit for the day. Do it for ~2 weeks and motion sickness will be gone. Had really strong motion sickness aswell and now im a no vr no buy guy :D Just dont keep driving when you get sick, its gonna make it worse for future sessions
Acc is one of the worst vr implementations in sim racing. It's my favorite sim but I'm not doing vr in it. I'd recommend trying it in assetto corsa or automobilista 2 / project cars 2. It's all way better

I always said I didn’t care for VR. I always said I never needed it. But holy sh*t this is cool. I’m gonna start looking into a PC and VR headset now
it will blow your mind.... looking someone playing vr is nice and you think that must be cool, but playing the first time in VR is absolute amazing.
Very true, VR is the way to go for simulators. My Lap times are roughly 2 seconds faster in VR than non-VR in ACC.
I'm actually so happy at the thought of Crofty and Ant not commentating
You shat your pants when you crashed at Austria
I can’t wait!!! Vr is so awesome!
Got to give like for that porpoising effect lmao
I usually watch jarno, but his head shaking was giving me a seizure so I guess I have to be here lol
He had low fps
Hopefully the engineer system will have better communication for when the HUD is off but it seems super cool otherwise!
"VR is the new thing in F1 2022"........ever since the VR in F1 2019
Ben didn't bother looking at his steering wheel to look at what lap he was on lol
@@jamesswayze5890 I think you mean longsighted
It’s not your headset. One of of your eyes is probably near or far sighted. You wouldn’t notice that when not in VR since your eyes will balance naturally. It’s because each eye has a screen.
That porpoising is mint. what an immersion xD
You might want to look at your wheel screen and lights bc then you can tell what position your in and the yellow lights were flashing
How well does it look in VR in comparison to other racing games? Most are very blurry at distances, I wonder how this one will be.
I would imagine its no better than other games, and that's not really a fault of the games. It just pretty much every VR headset these days has a low pixel density (atleast for how close our eyes are to the screens in the headset)
Abrar what headset and vr racing have you played?
@@ashlittle4545 Quest 1 and 2. AM2, PC2, ACC, AC
@@abrar859 You would have to try HP Reverb G2 or Primax 8K. The screen door effect is eliminated in those headsets. Everything is much sharper.
Hello question for future video is that new speak thing to the radio a new thing like saying Set intermediates and it does it
Is F1 2022 playstation version going to have VR ??????
I'm hereby officially volunteering to take your HTC vive when you get your new headset!
One doesn’t experience self transcendence, the illusion of self only dissipates}~ 🎈
You should get reshade and tune it to be as realistic as possible, I’ve done that for Assetto Corsa and f1 2021 and the game looks very realistic
Awesome, finally VR.
I'm just desperately trying to figure out which VR headset to get. It's a maze out there.
Same here! Leaning towards Oculus quest 2 tho.
I bought the Reverb G2 and I'm very satisfied with it. The Pimax 8k must be great, but it cost more than the double price of the reverb g2
@@handaniel11 1. Not quite good enough.
2. It's a stand-alone thing, and I want a PC VR thing.
3. Facebook.............
4. Zuckerberg..........
It's certainly good for what it is, but I don't think it's what I'm looking for.
I might get an HP Reverb G2, it's just that they're all sold out until October, everywhere. :/
I considered the Vive Pro 2, but they apparently get extremely warm, and they have nasty halo effects.
Valve Index seemed good until I saw a comparison and realized you can't even read text in the Valve Index because it has too low resolution. :P
...and the controllers apparently keep breaking, extremely frequently.
Hahahahahahahhahaa replicating the proposing hahahahah
I can't wait, but I really hope they clean up some of those little things...it looks like the bones are there for real greatness
Im so excited for f1 22 VR man im so glad I didnt get rid of my headset
Will the build models still be the same when the full game releases?
HUD off is the new hardcore mode... even pit wall signs start to matter
the real purpoising budy 🤣
Nice Video as always
Not sure if anyone else noticed but you can actually hear the helicopter when it flies above, thought that was cool
When it’s no talking in the video it’s kinda like relaxing
I switched from the Vive to the Quest 2 and it's insanely better - worth upgrading.
How's the quality with the Quest 2? I know nothing about VR and really want to play this game in VR. For reference I have a 3080 and i5-12600k.
@@lucas5867 compared to the Vive, it's night and day difference. Just make sure you're using the USB C cable to connect to the PC, as the WiFi sharing is a crap if you don't have a decent access point due to the bandwidth required.
Question: will f1 22 support more vr headsets after release?
Looks pretty amazing. Will you do career mode in VR?
I wonder what motion sickness is going to be like for me. So far my only VR racing experience is a few laps in ACC, and that was all I could do before I started feeling unsteady. And ACC has a massively restricted FOV out the car because of the windshield, which helps a lot. I can't imagine I'd be able to last very long in this game. Still, excited to give it a go, although I expect I won't do it very often.
Just drive to the Point where you get unwell and call it quit for the day. Do it for ~2 weeks and motion sickness will be gone. Had really strong motion sickness aswell and now im a no vr no buy guy :D
Just dont keep driving when you get sick, its gonna make it worse for future sessions
Acc is one of the worst vr implementations in sim racing. It's my favorite sim but I'm not doing vr in it. I'd recommend trying it in assetto corsa or automobilista 2 / project cars 2. It's all way better
Yeah assetto ain't great for vr, ams2 is very nice, also take some ginger, that helps with motion sickness
Very much looking forward to using the VR. Just have to hope my 970 copes with it well enough.
