Just because it's both called PTSD doesn't mean it's the same thing. Shell Shock and PTSD, two different things.
I feel like this dude has a good content to share but I don't think him advising people not to join the British Army is a good thing...as a soldier you can't predict your death, shit just happens in a split sec and one of your buddy is gone...I did work with the Kenya Army Ranger and I was deployed in lamu when Alshabab were killing people, we did a lot of foot patrol and I remember losing my best friend from a land mine/some in ambush ...Everything was sad but I wouldn't say I got PTSD from what I saw. British is part of NATO and they are supposed to provide troops during NATO wars like in the middle east. An average Brixton had no interest in fighting a war that don't concern him or her. To fill their quota, they recruit soilders from unsuspecting poor countries like Kenya. That is what he was saying. The recruitment only happens during dire times. You sign a contract to fight for them for however long, then you return home damaged. If it was in exchange for say citizenship, at least you get something in return You faught for your country and I commend and admire your love for Kenya. Would you do the same for a war that does not affect you in any way?

Fighting under a flag requires commitment,allegiance,conviction... to the policies of the country...not just a salary otherwise ur operating as a mercenary for hire to highest bidder!

I think this will make PTSD worse for the soldier. Seeing your friends killed but you are not allowed to shoot the killer because they have surrendered😮
