They're more uses than that, those are just the most famous and a fulcrum is easier to make than you think. For example, the hammer you use to pull out nails is a type of lever, a fulcrum is already created when the hammerhead touch a surface
@@vdinh143for us yes, but average audience(of that channel) don't know most of this and won't understand the jokes like us, so for his channel relevance, he posts here, you can say it's like a special video for us
I wanted to like this video, but unfortunately I don't have a fulcrum, so I can't use my fingers (basically small maneuverable levers) to press the button
Simple. Make a hole/slit in something that can stand high pressure (the pressee). Put a pressure object below it (the presser), make sure to have a fitting distance between them. Attach a rope to the presser through the hole/slit. Attach the other end of the rope to the pressey (which by pure accident looks remarkably like a pulley). Place an item between the presser and the pressee. Press the end of the rope away from the slit/hole. The item is now thoroughly pressed. I will apply for a worldwide patent asap.
And now he has to go through the trouble of telling a new guy about all of his magnificient lifting inventions so that they can spread it around, too bad that the (presumably) first guy suddenly invented spontaneous combustion and went up in smoke 😉
Hang a giant ball-shaped claw on a pulley, that is then pulled by an upside-down hydraulic press whose hydraulics is operated by a lever. Lift literally everything.
It's not a difficult concept to explain. You move 1 end of the system a lot and the other end moves very slightly. This means that you can move the end of the lever a km and the other end of the lever moves like 1cm of course your lever would have to be made of something strong enough to do this.

Give this man a fulcrum!
Oh fulcroff. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm assuming a fulcrum is a "fixed point"? Cause the saying goes "give me a fixed point and I'll move the earth" or something along those lines
he made the video just for this comment lol
@@therealking6202 ty for that. I was working on a pun, but you solved the problem perfectly.
@@Irondragon1945 it's "give me a fulcrum and I'll move the world", or something like that.

It *totally* makes it worth letting the video run to the end while browsing the comments 😁

As an engineer, I cannot stop lifting things so this is 100% accurate

I guess Zach was able and willing to go for it

Not to be confused with plato who was just really muscular.

The history of mechanics is the story of mankind's pursuit of moving heavy stuff.

So...let me get this straight...
Engineer=lifts heavy things
Body builder=lifts heavy things
Engineers are body builders
😂
No but bodybuilders lift heavy things with just their arms. Engineers do it with levers and pulleys and claws
Or stoners. They are always saying "wow, heavy, man" so they must lift a lot of things to find which ones are heavy.
Somebody should really invent a "pressey"
I realized how that sounded after I typed it.
👁️👄👁️

5:59 Because you can't push a rope.
But you can throw one
6:01 Addressed that
I don't see how knowledge from Skillshare would help me avoid the frickin' Death Ray
2 videos on the same day from Zach Star Himself? What a Christmas.
They actually lifted the boats
Lesser's law is crazy. 😆
Did You Know that the amount we can lift doubles each year? That's LESSER'S Law 😭😭😭
"I think you're just saying words"
Have to remember that one. It might definitely come in handy.
Wait... isn't a death ray just a convoluted way to lift water?

The fulcrum was neither willing nor able to assist in this emergency.
took me a moment to reailze that 'Himself' was missing
The existence of the columns in the background of the engineer implies that he is not, in fact, the first engineer
Catapult would have been funnier then death Ray. Your welcome
Even if it is likely a myth, it's still something Archimedes is famously known for. And it's still a cool part of his history.
Ah yes, Archimedes lore
Zach is both able AND willing to lift heavy stuff more easily
I was expecting briliant, but skill share fits too

I love the insane anachronisms every time. Toy story
He can’t find his fulcrum bc he keeps exploding everyone he talks too
So, this is Josef Engineer huh
They have no lever but they have computers to animate Toy Story and can make boats😂😂😂
Without a fulcrum, a stick is just a leverite
The lever is able and willing... but needs a fulcrum
