I knew we would do well with the remaining picks. I love the Spurs!!
I hope Spurs give Juan the opportunity to play straight away with the team. He is already a pro, his games fits perfectly with Wemby and Suns culture. He isn't afraid of the moment and has won at all levels championships and MVPs.
Dilingham would have been eaten up alive going up against bigger NBA defenders. I think the Spurs could have used Knecht, a true 3-level scorer.
Now that the draft is over. Our coach is not getting any younger. Is there any interest in hiring UConn Coach Dan Hurley as an assistant in 2025. To learn from Coach Popovich and get acquainted with the team. To eventually take over Popovich when he retires?
Could be wrong but seems our GM is already being mentored to be coach, recall Pop started as GM and immediately hired himself as Head Coach
I don’t think whoever comes need to be mentored under Pop if they’re high on the prospect because that person will have to establish his coaching-style like how Pop established his after Brown
@@chess_on_toilet Highly doubt Brian Wright is going to coach. My guess is someone who's been on the coaching staff already, whether they're currently with Spurs or not. But honestly, Pop looks motivated and great - don't see him moving anywhere for a few years unless something goes terribly wrong (knock on wood)
San Antonio would be a better landing spot for Danny Hurley than Los Angeles.

@@mortystraphouse5077 yea he sucks and was one of the few people that had a net positive rating when playing with wemby, and in the last 25 or so games of the season he only shot like 37% from 3 with one of the best assist to turnover ratios in the nba, number would’ve been higher if we anyone that could hit a three, wait we did, doughy and cedi and they barely ever played and we played bums like branham and champagne all year
@Joe-wq6te they definitely kept playing the bums. I'm assuming it was on purpose to get decent draft placement. Mamou should've got more playing time but that's my opinion, I think he was way better than Zach collins

Juan Nunez just signed a large, multi-year deal overseas. And he has a substantial buy-out.

the trade is about the value dillyor whoever left vs value of asset given by min. the critics do not realize difficult of getting unprotected picks and spur got top-1 protected swap on top of that. we do not need to wait 7y touse them, also can be used in trade
Why stockpile draft picks if you are giving them away, This guy keeps disappointing with most of his picks. one pick that will stick the others could have but got traded. Anyone else would be fired for the bad selections and decisions this guy makes. even a blind dog finds a bone (Wemby) but building a team, this guy is terrible. We will be waiting a longer time with this rebuild. Fire the Bum !

This was a weak draft. I ain’t expecting jack of anyone drafted after the top 15 picks. Most of these guys will be out of the league in 5 years. How many players drafted this year will be All Stars in 3 years ? Better to sign a veteran player in my opinion.

saving space for free agency. giannis, embiid, gonna be free soon, i dont see joker leaving denver, but we can nab a top 5 player with our cap and asset management in the coming seasons.
Juan Núñez remenber Ricky Rubio rookie season
He fucking blew this so hard. Furphy should’ve been gone in the first round and fell into our fucking lap and we traded him away for a draft n stash. At worst he’s Grayson Allen, at best he’s a tougher, more athletic gordon hayward who competes on defense. At 35 that’s a fucking steal. But to give him up for cash and the next pick when he would’ve fit seamlessly is a huge mistake. We have Victor Fucking Wembanyama who is ready to WIN NOW. Why would you trade someone that can make an immediate impact, fills multiple needs, is a good character guy, etc and draft a point guard when we could’ve signed or traded for one who’s contract expires before wembys massive one kicks in. I’m not that upset at the trade for Rob cuz those firsts could be super valuable and a guy like Ant playing his whole career in Minnesota seems unlikely considering the money situation they’re in and it’s just a shitty state. But Furphy falling to us and giving him away for nothing is outrageous. I’ve been patient with this team cuz of what they’ve done but when you have Pop talking about the team needs to be tougher, more mature and smarter. Ding ding fucking ding: Johnny Furphy. There better be some moves coming along cuz we’re realistically only a few quality players away from the playoffs and I think Furphy would’ve been a huge part of not only the future but would’ve made an impact now. But instead we buys like Wesley, Champagne, Branham, etc on this roster. You don’t think we could’ve given Indy our other second, a couple of our 12 in the next 7 years, branham, wesley and cash and taken nunez with that pick. He dropped the fucking ball.
S: Jones, Vassell, SF (Vassell could play the 3 if we traded for like a brogdon or someone), Sochan, Wemby
B: Castle, Furphy, KJ, Collins
When wemby played with an actual point guard our team was a net positive. The two guys we drafted would’ve come off the bench this year and learned a bit then next year jump into the starting group. If we’re tanking again for a top pick next year I’m not for that at all, passing up on good talent to tank is a recipe for disaster.

Buzelis was there at 8, a pick that may not even have conveyed to us, and we have a gaping hole at SF. But no. We traded for potential noncontributors in 6-7 years. If shooting/scoring was what we needed, Knecht was the best scorer in the draft. Knecht can play day 1. Get the F Out. Brian Wright has made 1 good pick as gm (devin vassell) not including wemby because if he f'd up the wemby pick he would never have a job in the league again. Can't wait to see buzelis torch the summer league. He'll be playing against the weakest competition that he has seen in a year.

Let’s keep tanking when wemby wants to win, you know why it was so easy for Timmy Tony and Manu to want to stay in SA? Cuz we were winning and there was never a thought of let’s tank or let’s see where this year goes, it was draft spurs guys (castle is a spurs guy, furphy WAS a spurs guy) and let them slowly develop while these guys are playing then as they get better and the old guys fall off, the roles switch. But rn were just trying to accumulate draft capital and don’t care if they win, you will lose the city real quick doing this, when these people see that they’re spending their hard earned money that they pull together to go to one game for someone’s birthday and your not trying to win, they will turn on you in a second

Brian wright has to be the most repetitive GM in history… how many playmakers and passers do you need? You pick Cidy cissoko last year who’s a non shooting passer… you got sochan who can’t shoot, but was supposed to be a defensive playmaker, and now you pick freaking Juan nuaz who’s a playmaker non shooter lol…. Where are all the shooters and scorers at on this team besides Devin and Wemby?… the Dillinghan trade was awful on its face… the castle pick is meh he can’t shoot either!!! @@jasonholloway4162 I wouldn't say they'll suck in that time, but most of their players are currently in or heading into their primes, so it's possible they'll be on the decline in 5-6 years

not really. what i mran they have to proof a lot tostay. why? their contracts make them a lot easier to be cut, a 1st rounder if have some limiyation teams will patiently wait for their development 4y maxdue to the contract. 2nd rounder not guaranteedlong most of them on;y one y, 2 way contract. .roster spots always limited, teams wont cut their 1st rounder early unless they really suck. 2nd rounder easy.

Spurs are not being “cheap” they are only looking to spend money to players they plan to keep long term. Spurs are going to make a FA signing in the coming years and we have 4 picks that are potential lottery picks next year so yes we need the money.

Brian Wright is over thinking this. I understand the importance of collecting draft picks but he took things too far when he traded Dillingham for a draft pick 7 years from now that may not be in the top 10 or 20. The time is now not 7 years from now. Dillingham will probably be the next Derrick Rose without the knee issues and the Spurs are going to look stupid.

It's clear that they don't have high regard on Dillingham, Furphy or anyone you wanted to draft that did not end up to us. The front office knows better than us, they have data on games, workouts, character so just trust them and let them develop our prospects.
