  • Kassel Performance dyno tuned my E30 M3 with euro S50B32 swap and a CSL replica airbox. Gained over 40 rwhp and made the car much more drivable. On this day the S50B32 made 309rwhp on his dyno, my stock E46 M3 made 264rwhp on his same dyno.

    The E30 M3 is the only car I'd own in red. Looks so fantastic. I wish my E30 M3 was red lol.

    Hi Erik, what brand CSL replica is this?

      @wmwnwmn  4 роки тому +3

      John De Looze hi John, It’s not a name brand, I bought it from a German guy who sells a few different styles on eBay.de. This one is designed specifically for the s50 in an e30.

    Hi witch Chrick cams have you been using.
    296°?

    • @wmwnwmn
      @wmwnwmn  3 роки тому +1

      284° duration I believe it was. The ones that don’t require stiffer valve springs. 296° would be a riot!

      @@wmwnwmn you still had the vanos on it, so it had to be 284.

    Awesome car. How's Engine management being run on your S50?

      I've since sold the car, but before selling it, I had it tuned by Kassel Performance who made a world of a difference in how the car drove. I was about to move to a stand alone system, but Kassel made it run right.

      @@wmwnwmn Thanks for the reply! Was it A: Alpha N Tuned and B: Did it run well on urban/city drives? How was the idling? Fuel Consumption?

    • @wmwnwmn
      @wmwnwmn  3 роки тому +5

      @@hanslubas Yes, when running a big carbon airbox you must run alpha-n. Some airbox's have a MAF, but they aren't nearly as good.
      It ran very very well after the tune. It never ran right before Kassel tuned it, but ran excellent after. I never bothered to check fuel consumption, It's a fun car not a prius.

      @@wmwnwmn hahaha, fair enough. Planning on getting a Carbon Airbox for my S50B32 M Roadster and it seems like Kassel Performance fits the bill. Karbonius makes a decent box.
      Only concerns of mine is I do take the car for some relatively long drives.
      I guess my last question is did you run 91 or 93 Octane when you made the 300+whp pull.

    • @wmwnwmn
      @wmwnwmn  3 роки тому +2

      @@hanslubas I believe he is a distributor for Karbonius. The last time I was in his shop, he had a few in his shop and they are a superior product.
      I currently live in western Ohio and he is in eastern PA and driving the car home was completely drama free, except for freeway onramps! I'd have no problem driving the car cross country. In fact, when I bought my E46 M3, I had it on Kassel's dyno 2 hours after purchasing the car for dyno tuning it as well. I recently drove the E46 from Ohio to Colorado, spent 3 days on track (14 hours on track) and drove back.
      Yes, running 93, it's standard pump gas here. Also for reference, Kassel said his dyno reads pretty low, at the time I dyno'd the E30, I thought 309rwhp was pretty low, but he said stock E46 M3's dyno around 275rwhp on his dyno all day long. Sure enough my E46 M3 dyno'd 274rwhp when I brought it to him a few months later.

      In America, a lot of people with European cars will get a Euro number plate for the front of the car as some states in the US only require you to have a number plate on the back of your car, so thus the front Euro number plate is for vanity

      Hi Enes, I was lucky enough to live in Germany for 5 years but sadly we are back in the states now. A friend of mine gave me this DAU plate which is very special to me as all the fast local guys around the ring had plates from Daun.
