The monkeys flying are the game taking them away. Since they are not thrown in a valid aging zone, the zombies will not notice it, a laugh audio will play and it'll disappear.
Also Simon: the Perkaholic is one of the rare perks meaning you need to get them through liquid divinium. Meaning you get a limited amount and mid game, you ran out (if you didn't know.)
Also when you got the frag grenades from the box, it broke your Widows Wine... when you went down and got it again, it fixed itself like it would normally.
