We bought this one. 8 months ago. Not in Britain. You will remark that my English isn't so good as yours. ... (it is my third language). The P626D: Splendid place. Launch is great. Kitchen is gorgeous. Space! The most attractive part of this 6m20 MH. But.... the 8" media pack doesn't work... No DAB+, no FM radio, the GPS worked initially and then stopped working. The seller had to put another (Kenwood) in it... and the water from the small washbowl in the toilet does not empty... from the beginning. You'll have to wait wait wait. We do not use it anymore ... The seller told us that we have to park the MH not perfect horizontally....(Production error I think)... but then the water from the shower does not empty.... The extra store place in the floor of the kitchen: It pups up a little bit. The seller says: I can't help....(Production error...?) We have an outdoor shower in the garage: there is only warm water .... No cold water. ... The control panel (Clean water, dirty water and so on, says: the dirty water is 100% full - but I just let all the water out... it is empty!; the main switch is at the wrong place: you enter the MH and touch this switch with your elbow : everything is locked down.... If you do not remark it: hours later the battery didn't recharge by the solar panel because you switched it accidently of... and so on, and so on. a lot of problems with this MH. (we had a Pilote Van - and everything was perfect. Not one problem. Now this P626D .... - I think we had to go back to the seller about 6 times for all kind of things who didn't work - who where broken.... THey all repaired it "Garranty" . We didn't had to pay. Thank God. Now the car is again by the seller. Almost a week, for a long list of problems.... It is a pity because: splendid place, marvelous launch. Great kitchen. Space!....
The only time I ever seem to use three rings on the cooker is when doing the Christmas dinner. I don't think I have ever used all four in 40 years of daily cooking and yes I do frequently cook and cook proper food from scratch.
Pilote is a French manufacturer so it does produce left-hand drive as well as right-hand drive models. I'm not sure if this particular model is available in LHD but it is worth contacting Pilote in Italy and/or France to ask.
I guess that keeping it to standard coachbuilt width will be easier for production and, therefore, save cost. Also, if you reduce the width, you'd reduce the length of the drop-down bed. That said, I'm very excited by the new Chausson X550 and will be testing - and filming - one very soon
We sold our Frankia A Class and bought a Spanish Villa in February 2020 - not the best timing to be honest. I have missed our big Frank but in truth we really used it more for weekends than long trips and I am thinking of dipping my foot back into the MH market. At this pricepoint it makes a great weekender for 2 and could also manage the occasional longer trip - great review on a layout that breaks the usual mould in a very clever way.
Sounds great and yes you can get so much more from a motorhome than just a weekender. A leisurely tour down through France and Spain each year to your villa could be on the cards when the restrictions end!
Can you order these direct from the factory in France?, This ideal for me and my 3 dogs, with the drop bed I can sleep above my dogs in peace, campervan have no floor space.
@@MotorhomeCampervan can we buy mh's in the EU? without any problematic issues like importing charges etc? Is it worth considering or a non-starter nowadays?
You should compare the Pilote with the Adria Matrix 520 ST and Chausson 650 Titanium VIP. If you don't mind going to a slightly longer (7m) 'van then also consider the Adria Matrix Plus 600 DT, Bailey Adamo 69-4, Chausson 640 Titanium Premium and Itineo FC650
Great review👍 A PHEV transit chassis variant of this body style would be my ideal motorhome, a PHEV transit offering the ability to power all off grid modern essentials via its petrol engine driven generator ,a PHEV engine driven generator has the add bonus off reusable heating while running as a electric generator....... Well that's my experience of using a brilliant mitsi outlander PHEV to power our mobile home via a CHAdeMO ( car to grid )power take off adapter...... Just hope a 2021 transit PHEV is as reliable as the bomb proof Mitsi PHEV 🙄
Unfortunately, the only PHEV LCV so far is the Transit Custom (rather than Transit), of which there is no chassis-cab variant. I fear hybrid/electric coachbuilts are some way off yet and there are weight issues to resolve as many drivers are limited to 3,500kg and current models don't have the payload to allow for batteries as well. However, you can get a PHEV Transit Custom campervan from several converters and there are conversions of the fully electric Nissan eNV200. A full review of the Transit Custom PHEV appeared in the November issue of What Motorhome, which is available on pocketmags
@@peterv3642 Thanks for info, sounds like I will have to hold on to my motorhome funds this year , be waiting for the ideal PHEV engine driven electric generator powered motorhome package 🙄 Have to find your pocket mags online 👍
You can get a great new motorhome for £45k but we'd suggest a look at the used market too for nearly-new models and also look out for end-of-season ex-demonstrators that generally go on sale from the late summer and into autumn. The End of Season Finale Motorhome Show in Lincoln is a great place to look for these ex-demos.
There's a generous wardrobe and you could use that shelved locker in the corner for clothes instead of kitchen stuff, if you prefer. Any extra gear could go in soft bags in the garage - still accessible from inside the 'van. I reckon it's ok for two, but four would be more difficult

Brilliant design. That kitchen is excellent. Perfect. Really enjoy your reviews, Peter. They are now very much in depth.
Glad you like them!
Best Pilote 626-presentation I've seen here on YT. Thank you🤗
Glad you liked it! Hope you've subscribed to the channel?
Absolutely loved this set up, just as 2 berth. Great pull down bed, lounge area great. It was all good 👍
Agree - it's a super little two-berth but with versatility to carry extra passengers, if needed
Can you adjust the fridge door so it swings away from the kitchen?
@6:21 - awesome couch seat to 2 chairs facing each other!
Yes, neat piece of design but pity the rear-facing seat has no head restraint
@@peterv3642 I'm sure one could be added if it really mattered. The function and availability of options > a headrest in the grand scheme of things.
Thank you so much, very informative and helpful demonstrations, a brilliant review, you really are a star !
Thank you!
Fabulous little van, great video as well
Thank you! 👍Glad you enjoyed the review and looking inside the motorhome.

Quite agree. Does anyone really need four rings? Or have four pans small enough to fit
Very cool and unique floorplan
Very informative review, and a nice van.
Glad you liked it!
Looks really good value when you compare it to the price of used
Indeed. Used prices are sky high because there is so little stock - new or used - out there.
Great reveiw I wish it were set for steering on the left side. I am living in Italy and this RV has my interest. Thanks!

Order from France?
Big like
Nice van, really well designed!
Yes we agree!
Love this van, especially the shower room as I’d love that in my van.
Yes, the shower is great for a compact model
If they did this layout in the 2.1 width, (like the challenger x550 chassoun) would be a winner.

Probably not direct from the factory but Pilote has a big dealer network covering all areas of France. The factory is near Nantes
😆 I was thinking same thing

@@MotorhomeCampervan great tip, for me anyhow? I'd be able to make a new one then, but now in 2023 it's quite different...

Crazy fools...!Try tariffa
It would be great to head south to the sun. Maybe later this year...
This is wonderful, & would be bought out immediately in the States. 🫤. WHY can’t we get European models over here? 😠
Look out for our Wingamm review in the New Year. That Italian brand is now sold in the States!
