I just finished making one of these nutcrackers! It is SO cute! However, I used one piece of card stock the exact size of six toilet paper rolls taped together to make the body stronger. And, rather than construction paper, I used felt. For the head, I used a styrofoam ball and paper mâchéd it. On the hat, I put a small chain instead of the cord used on the one in the video. I had so much fun that I just have to make another one - but, a little different!
OMGOODNESS I LOVE THIS…I love how you used things you already have a home to make such a tall nutcracker ty for sharing! I’m going to start collecting my supplies now…ty!
Love love this ,.we are retired in Florida in a 55 and older, Rv resort and travel park. I teach crafts and this one here is perfect for them to ,learn to make..
It's worth a shot! I think the biggest issue would be moisture since the nutcracker is mostly paper and cardboard. If you give it a try, I'd love to hear how they hold up for you!
I did not make bigger feet; I just covered the bottom of the feet and filled the legs with rice. Adding that weight helps the nutcracker stand up better.
I'm using a what a burger cup it goes in can be the Frame of the face a styrofoam bowl for the hat I have old orange juice container be perfect for legs the feet like you did yours and I'll use paper towel rings for arms and I have extra ornaments I love making crafts
Very creative! When I was planning this video, I quickly realized a nutcracker is just a bunch of cylinders put together. So it's a great project to reuse old containers!
Why do people on you tube talk so fast? I am sure I am not the only one who has difficulty hearing and when people speak fast it is harder to understand them.
I think an oatmeal container body could be a time saver, cute Idea, turned out well!
That's a great idea! My mom suggested the same thing, but I didn't have one handy. I bet it would make it sturdier too. Thanks for watching!
