Government jobs would put the pay range when advertising.
Some peers don’t even want to share their income, because they think you want to be noisy or inquisitive 😄but yes if you want a little bit more pay you go ahead and asked your boss he will increase. Great topic Jo👍🏼

Jo you should've atleast put out what the salary exectations or average are in the accounting field in Jamaica, people don't have to know your exact salary but it's good for the public to know in general.

Advertising pay scales on jobs only seem to show up in Govt jobs which have a published pay scale based on rank. It would be helpful if other industries did this as it would set expectations upfront. It is always good to know people in your own field and can discuss salary numbers and expectations based on job roles as it gives a great working point for folks job hunting or just checking if they are within market rates for their position.

Happy Sunday to you Jo, and here in the States they do Advertise their salary amount but whenever you get the job it’s totally different salary low you wondering what is going on and you’ve to work up to certain positions to get the amount it’s just ridiculous.

In general one do not get increases in salary because he or she obtain a post grad degree.
I agree with what you say about demanding your worth. However, why can't the various employers simply establish decent pay rates? They know the exact pay rates needed for a decent standard of living.
